  1. I had a look at the link Don’t think I can afford it as the cost doubles in AU pesos I will stick to my 1965 TT as it has stood the test of time and beyond

  4. Felt awful the last couple weeks. New Rx that makes you grow green antennae and get purple polka-dots Love the original version I grew up with, but I've heard it a thousand times. Liked this variant from that eight hour Crossroads Festival on tv years ago! Open it up in another tab ... the whole show is great!

  12. Those two dog breeds are among the best on this planet! Among the most abused also. People are willful with propagating mass ignorance! Research what you're bringing home before you do it!! Chows were bred by war-lords in the feudal far east centuries ago. Genghis Khan kinda folks, to be good fighters and loyal. They will pick someone in the household to be loyal to and unless trained from younger than a month on can exhibit those bred in traits. Rottweilers are my favorite animal period. Don't get one from a rescue place when they're two years old. Like bulldogs and the aforementioned chows they are more likely to have had a bad human in their life! Lovable, obedient, protective and strong willed. Dalmatians need acres to run around, the two above need attention, plus running space. I've had all of the above for the short and long hauls!

  13. 1988 Elektra reissue Exceptional sound on this Elektra reissue. Defined, rich with supreme clarity and smooth delivery. Super punchy, realistic drums you can feel and beautiful midrange tones make the guitar work really cut through. Vocals are lush and intimate and the bass is profound. I’m very impressed with the sound on this 80s reissue. Quite a stellar pressing, no flaws to speak of. I definitely recommend this pressing. Comment from Discogs so well described this pressing I had to copy it.

  19. Good evening friends, wasn´t here for while as I have seriouse online issues here . The district where I´m living gets a brand new fiberoptic cable net for internet applications. So far there isn´t anyone online here , except the users having a mobile hotspot on their smartphone . That´s my connection I´m using that at the moment to be online . It isn´t that fast and threads take a lot of time to be loaded . Takes a while till all works are finished here . Today I was in the mood to spin some records .... Jimmy Page & Robert Plant " No Quarter " recorded in Marakech and London in 1994, didn´t spun that for a couple of years than Queen II followed by Pink Floyd " Animals " finally Manfred Manns Earth Band " Solar Fire "

  20. Yes there is a bit of a catch.... These are in kindof rough shape - drivers move freely and I believe they work - fabric surrounds are in tact, but a bit of water damage on one and a 1/4" tear in the fabric - but I think you could just use silicone to seal it back up. They have been stored in my garage for about 6 years since I refurbed some Khorns a while back. Crossovers are very dirty, but should work... but I'd say they are going to need complete teardown and cleanup at the very least. If anyone is in the Detroit / Flint area - come by and get them.

  21. It really looks interesting. I would be worried about the difficulty of just changing out the records. It seems like it would have to be a bit of a timely process just to flip a record. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome looking setup. Maybe I am just too lazy...lol. Is there any real advantage to the floating turntable if the tone arm is still affixed to the base? It seems to me that it would negate the whole anti vibration thing. If that's what it is going for. I'm really just curious as I am certainly no expert in any way.

  22. @KROCK Logical approach but is it similar to the air platter? Would have to be more stable I'd think but... Pricey, nice looking tone arm but just how good is the cart compared to the rest of the build? Yea, you need a Queen in your life. Said no man evah! Maybe though. 😂 Those lp's? H3ll I have enough trouble putting the one's I play away! The table? I'll just keep my trusty Linn. Still spinning away @ 33.29. @Full Range welcome back! Sounds like a good time. Always nice to get out of your comfort zone. Then when you come home ya wonder wtf you just did and fire up the system. Pictures @ Exhibition pretty much sums it up. Helps you settle back into that life of stability. 😂

  24. This thread made me want to hear more of my stock ST-70. So moved it into a room by itself with a pair of RF-3 II’s and using an iFi DAC have been really enjoying the sound. The ST-70 was my first tube amp and I still like it. It is running RCA 7199’s and SED EL34’s and have not heard this amp with Mullard EL34’s so there’s that. Any way hope all are enjoying their systems.

We saw him here in Berlin, infront of the Reichstag. Paul Young sang as warm-up, but people were impatient to see Michael and booed all the time... Poor Paul, it was undeserved.

  29. Time to ride or die! THAT was yesterday around my place. Rode that coaster once and it's killer. How's yer heart tough guys??? Mine was thumpin last night just like it was when I rode that thing... 60 miles north of me on the coast of Lake Erie here in Ohio. Bring your A game & the kids. I got the lodging covered here. Hour north to heaven or H3ll ! lol Being the tallest roller coaster and the first to top 300 feet wasn’t the only records broken when it opened in 2000. It debuted having the longest drop and the fastest speed topping out at 93 m.p.h. Ranking as one of the world’s best steel coasters year after year since its opening, this behemoth shoots riders over hills, past lagoons and through tunnels, all at unthinkable speeds. With its silhouette illuminated in the night sky, it’s hard miss the iconic coaster on the Cedar Point skyline. About the only way I can describe last evening. A roller coaster. I unzipped the Dom Martin lp's, quick eyeball and laid them here on the arm of the couch for later. Finally figured I'd throw them on for a listen. After I ordered them I'd heard them on youtube and thought this dude's act IS together. Little did I know HOW together. Turned on my "aura" over the table to take a quick photo for in here and filled my shorts. Signed? Personalized? WTF is going on here??? I didn't buy any signed copies so I hit the site to make sure. Nope. How? Why? It was going around in my head and I was loving it. So this dude tours then gets home and signs lp's for people randomly? Who knows but I'm forever grateful and WILL be sittin front row or preferably a tour case (it's cheaper and my rear fits one) when he hits the US. It was almost as nice when my youngest daughter walks in the door @ Christmas. Home from Phoenix. Just crazy! Forever grateful for him doing that. They'll be in Crate #2 of signed stuff. That way I'll know where to find them in this mess of lp's stacked everywhere. Dom Martin (29) is a Belfast born award winning singer/songwriter, inspired but not constrained by the blues. In the past 18 months he has burst onto the UK and European music scene with a unique guitar style and voice captivating the audience at every venue. His main influences are Rory Gallagher, Tom Waits, John Martyn, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters. With five BBC Radio live sessions prior to a first album release, Dom impressed with his 2018 debut original EP “Easy Way Out” with BBC presenter Cerys Matthews describing his work as “absolutely wonderful stuff.” His debut album “Spain to Italy” was fully released on 4th December 2019 to critical acclaim and was an IBBA “Pick Of The Month” gaining airplay on around 100 stations globally. bluespowr.com - 'Spain to Italy is not just one of the best debut releases we’ve heard in some time but among the best albums we’ve heard from any artist this year' makingascene.org - 'The likes of Dom’s talent only comes around once in a lifetime' Fatea Records - 'A musician of unbridled talent and a future that is assured’ After his debut sell out “Spring ’19 UK Tour”, Blues in Britain Magazine said - "Now and again you stumble across a rare talent of such sheer genius that you actually wonder whether what you have witnessed can possibly be for real. Dom Martin is one such talent" (Last FM) Sooooo, he's influenced by Jimi? Watching this I saw that flair and thought Jimi, Mitch and Noel??? Welllll yea, but now it's on him to reach way down and perfect it. He's on the right track imo... Gonna be a great watch for sure. Yea, the old curmudgeon is waitin... Listen up. Ready GO! Only time will tell. An added bonus??? Seriously? On to his latest "Buried in The Hail." Just enough bump to catch ya and that Rory Gallagher twist w/an added touch of Jimi once again? Crazy good! First thoughts? These two are totally KILLAH lp's. More to follow as I kick back and take it all in. Lyrics, his work, his band they just push all the buttons. The acoustic side? Smooth and clean! If ya can't catch a groove you're either deaf or dead! 😂 Get off those gold cards your sittin HARD on! Get ya sum!

  32. Busy time yesterday. We had the annual blacksmithing festival in town so the kids and I walked over to check it out. A few blocks further up in town, the City Drive-In was having their annual Ramp Festival. After I walked the kids back over to the house I walked back to the drive-in to check out my friend Dan playing his all request piano show. Then I walked back home and made a sheet cake for the middle child’s birthday party. Apparently she told her friends that she was having a party at the park this afternoon so I obliged and told her I would make a cake and buy some drinks. After the cake came out of the oven I made some beer-battered fish tacos for dinner. Then I walked back to the drive-in, for the third time, to catch the band that was playing. My usual crew was there and had gotten roped into running sound. the setup wasn’t great but we made the best of it and folks had a pretty good time.

  35. @Tarheel, Chuckie if you're talking to me about my rig, vinyl, signed stuff and things with value both girls know what's here and what's locked up at other places. They could each buy Lambo's if they sold it @ auctions. Yea, dad's outta the box but he's always spot on. So I laff and take the heat they throw at me. Kids today aren't anything like we were. Wild! Items from people that were very close to me won't ever be sold. Offed a couple things once and a big time dude pretty much laffed at me. Then he saw pics I'd sent him and was my best friend. So I took it out on his commission cause he just HAD to sell them. Blah. World's full of morons and I ain't dead yet. Why? Ya wanna buy sumpin? 😂😂😂 Ouch, will you quit stickin pins in that lil doll you have w/my name on it? Ouch. QUIT IT! 😂

This thing is running all over the house who do I call. Dad: HAHAHAHAHA & HA! Suit up and get after it! Don't look at me. Go get it girl! 20 minutes later Oldest: I got it Dad. I put Joel's big coat on (he's 6'3), my hat and gloves, grabbed the broom and got it cornered. Then I chased it with the broom out the back door! Dad: Good girl! 😂 💪 Oldest: I've even got it all on video I'll send it to ya. 😂 Guess I could have told her if ya get a bat in there flyin around she could borrow my old tennis racquet hangin on a nail in the garage. Blah, I'll save it for another day. Gotta have a tennis racketl Carry on

  37. Ok, I'm drooling. Came up with this wild idea of boycotting Kroger so have been diving into the stockpile. About time to rotate things but also getting ready for a massive wallet rape maybe this week but could make it a couple more. Started thinking all ya really need is a baked tater w/sour cream and butter. Factored in a cob salad w/goodies once a day. So that runs about 84$ a week and it's good stuff not junk. I hit Kroger I buy more garbage than I should anc drop more than the 84 a week AND have to put it together. Bacon, chopped egg, cheese, lettuce ya wind up chopping? It aint rocket science but when ya involve the nickel & dime stuff along w/the all the other garbage I wind up buying? Blah. It's good for me and I'm dropping weight which is also good. Won't be long and I'll be right back in Kroger playin the game though. Life's boring like that. lol Gonna soooo beat that darn grasshopper! Just hope things are ok on his end. Crazy!

  38. Oldies but Goodies! Played one of these at the youtube thread the other week then saw: "Intervention worked for months with Universal's archive team, scouring the vaults in the US and UK for the best-sounding tapes. Several sets of tapes, including 1970s-era tape copies, were sent to mastering and evaluated by IR's Shane Buettner and Chris Bellman. The best-sounding tapes are 1/2" safety copies from the 1990s A&M Safety Program. The Wind of Change and Frampton safeties are sourced from UK Production Masters, while the Frampton's Camel safety is sourced from the Original Stereo Master. These tapes sound sensational, vibrant, detailed and alive. Combined with Chris Bellman's work at the board, and the superbly transparent mastering chain at Bernie Grundman Mastering, legions of fans will hear what Peter and the band really put on tape during this seminal period. Fans will hear bottom-end authority, dynamics and textural details never revealed on any previous edition." $ not $$ Thick, scalloped, deep cases not paper sleeves

  43. Do you have a heated humidifier? If you are getting condensation try turning down the heat; you can also try just using the humidifier cold (not plugging it in). You also want to keep the humidifier level with or below the level of your head in bed, if the humidifier is above your head the condensation can go down the hose into your mask. Try to keep the hose from dipping low toward the floor, the higher off the floor the less condensation you will get (it is better not to have a U shape in the hose between the humidifier and you)! At what pressure is your CPAP set? What brand of mask and headgear are you using? When you are first starting out it is better to go to sleep with the machine and take it off during the night than not using it at all; you hopefully will get used to it over time. I have had many patients use the CPAP machine while watching TV or reading to get used to the pressure while you are awake, it makes it easier to relax with the machine while you are trying to get to sleep with it. Good luck and don't give up too quickly!

  44. theplummer, there is no reason (other than financial) that your DME company should not let you try the nasal pillows. If they refuse, go back to your sleep doctor and ask him to write a script for the nasal pillows...the DME company will have to follow his directions! I'd look for another DME company if I were you...yours does not seem to put the patient first!
    1 point
  45. Thanks for the link Wade; that thing is wild! Nasal pillows have been an option for non-mask likers since the beginning, but securing the pillows orally is really a great idea!
    1 point
  46. As far as sleeping on the side or rolling over, the hose has a swivel at the mask end (you can have a swivel at both ends of the hose if necessary). The RT who sets up your equipment should help you find a solution to meet your needs. Many people start out the night using the CPAP and take it off sometime during the night, especially when you are getting used to it. If your titration was performed properly and you give the CPAP a good trial, your body will tell you if it is working or not. Even mouth breathers can get used to a nasal mask (much easier to fit and maintain a seal) rather than a full face mask. IMO you really don't need to worry about peak flowrates unless your pressure is very low; then weight loss and other modalities (oral appliances etc.) may work as well or better than CPAP. BiPap machines (NIPPV) have more flexibility in adjusting flow rates and I/E ratios...but normally that does not come into play!
    1 point
  47. Many people get used to using the CPAP rather easily, once they (and their body) benefit from its use. Experimenting with different types of masks and headgear go a long way in actually making CPAP use comfortable. Hopefully your DME company will be a good one and give you lots of options and support. Good luck Michael and keep us posted on your progress!
