Agree with Dean and the guys. If you have a good connection then don't bother. If you want to improve your CW's there are many worth while mods to consider. Should be many old CW mod threads for you to look at here. tc

Schu, what would you be using these with ? I'd have to start a complete new project of cobbled items... not really in my immediate future. something like 402's above DBB's. Listened to Mark's DBB K402 combo. Yum! Not a bad way to go by any means.... tc

Yes, they replaced them with all new Klipsch speakers. I was told with KPT-904, KPT-535, KPT-1201, KPT-684 and some MCM in the bigger rooms. They have been reopeded a year or so. There are over 20 screens, the place is huge. rigma Marion, Here in Northwest AR we have several Malco multi screens. They all are Klipsch powered. tc

I run Dave's 350hz version in my Cornscala DBB's (dual 15" woofs) Altec 902 16A drivers crossed at 450hz (ALK ESN DBB 450 networks) and JBL 2404 tweeters. These bass bins (Crites cast 15's) have had a few mid horns atop them. K400/K401, K510's and Altec 511Bs. The Fastrac horns sound the best. JMHO tc

Now Mark, The Dyna ST 120 was my first amp. (1972) Can't believe you speak of it that way. Sold it to a friend years ago (sorry buddy) and he presented it back to me a few months ago. It still works and sounds like it did back in the day. smile I used it with the matching Dyna PAT4 preamp........... A great example of a truly horrific sound... tc

Had you heard the 904,s when you made this statement ? I have heard the 904's in two way with the K402 horn. I am a reflex guy but didn't like them very much. I would keep the LaS. JMHO. tc

Me too Dee. I haven't measured but I like what I hear from the cast woofer. (used in a reflex bin)

Deano,: Around 2005 (I think) I spoke to BEC about CW's and the nasty little K600 horn made to fit in the box. Mids would chew my pant legs off at volume. I had used better horns atop my CW's and a better sound (IMHO) was there. I spoke to JC about it as well. Bob built his "test box" and posted that the sound was more than just a test box. JC built the first CW type 6cf reflex bins so that a K400 would fit inside. He named them CornScala because they had the Scala top end and CW bass bin. What a bang for the buck it was! In practice the "scala" part didn't last long because of the flexability that the deeper bin provided. The thing has evolved with different woofers, mid horns & drivers, tweeters, both 3-way and 2-way. But the bass bin volume and port size remains the same. The name CornScala just stuck. The CornScala DBB has that same flexability and evolution. I have heard them with: K400's, 511b's, K510's, small format wood Trax horns, large format wood Trax horns /W 30lb JBL drivers and the K402 horns. But you are right. There is no Scala part of it to be found these days. Hope you are well buddy, tc
