  1. I wandered into an independent record store a while back while on a business trip. The music playing was clear and dynamic and sounded very good. I looked around to see what kind of speakers were playing. Klipsch Synergy they were, small ones at that. They still have that distinctive Klipsch sound.
  2. IMO, as long as Klipsch offers very good products in all of the market segments that they complete within, and if they maintain outstanding customer service, they are not selling out, they are leveraging their good name. However, only one or two bad products can damage the company and hurt the image of their really great products, but I'm sure they know that much better than most of us. Give us products that are the best in every category, but continue the flagship Heritage line. I cannot imagine a company called Klipsch that does not produce a Klipschorn.
  3. Very impressive work! You should call them Chris-Horns!
  4. Trey, Is that June 24th - 25th weekend a firm date yet? I know its only February, but the wife is starting to make some summer plans already (and I found a good airfare).
  5. Great stories, Dave and DRBILL !
  6. My Heresy rear surrounds are sitting horizonally (horns vertical) in the rear corners. They are on shelves which put the center of the horns 6' above the floor. In my room, this works well for 5.1 movies and music.
  7. I received my SI from Target.com last week (ordered it the day after TBs first post). I connected it to the Khorns with a Yamaha CDP source and the left channel distorted badly almost immediately. Has anyone else had an out-of-box failure like this on the SI? Anyway, the replacement isn't scheduled to arrive until April!
  8. I'll have one of those kebobs, and I'll wash it down with a glass of Retsina. I'd also like a little piece of that baklava behind the bar (if you don't mind me asking). Then I'll switch to the sherry finished Glenmorangie for the rest of the night.
  9. Get busy with the saw. It will make a difference.
  10. "Some Florida businessman who's never laced-up in his life sitting on his dead *** watching others do something he never has ain't." Hey Tom, don't forget us down here in Dallas
  11. Absolutely, go for the upgrade. I upgraded from KG4s to Cornwalls a couple of years ago. It's a big improvement. That's also not a bad price. Warning: The only problem is that once you do that, you may not be able to stop. Now I have 5 Cornwalls, 2 Herseys and Khorns, and I still have the KG4s. I guess its a weakness.
  12. I just happened to rent this last night. The words are very close to the left edge of the screen, but are still completely visible.
  13. When I get an SACD player for the K-horns, I'll get something better than the Pioneer. But, considering the really cheap price for the little Pioneer, it plays SACDs well on my Cornwall/Heresy 5.1 setup (I saw one on a close out sale for $99 the other day). 2-channel may not be as impressive, but I'm not complaining. I guess I'll be in for a real treat when I get a "good" one .
  14. Well I had hoped for Hope, but I'll still try to make the Indy trip. If it is anything like last year, Klipsch will organize a first class event for us. Hey, Arkytype, maybe you can host an "unofficial" pilgrimage some weekend at your place. We could drive to the Hope plant and bribe the janitor with a six pack to give us a tour .
  15. "SACD can sound good on a cheap player." I agree. My Pioneer universal unit plays SACD amazingly well considering the low cost. I hope the SACD format doesn't disappear, to me it is clearly superior to CD.
  16. Gary, Uncanny prediction you had there! So do you have any stock picks for us! David
  17. My "vote" is still for Hope. However, whatever hotel we use (Hope or Indy), we need the hotel management to understand that we would like a conference room where we can set up and play music late on Friday night at concert hall sound levels! (unless something else is planned for Friday evening). BTW, last year I rented a midsized car in Indy for $16 per day. They had a compact for $13 per day!
  18. Craig, Dude, this CD rocks! Received it yesterday, played it on the Khorns. High energy, hard pounding, and musical all at the same time. That drum solo that kicks off track #5 "New Boy Sound" sounds like you're playing in my living room. Very well recorded CD. I couldn't play the CD too loudly with the wife and kids at home. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some home alone time so I can CRANK IT UP! David
  19. Michael, I don't think you over paid. I shelled out $1200 for a pair of Vertical Decorator Corns about a year ago. But, they were only 20 minutes from my house, and I split the pair with my brother (we both needed a center). BTW, have you seen the images from that new 16.7 mega pixel Canon 1Ds Mk II? After seeing some 30 x 40 enlargements from that camera, I am beginning to change my opinion of digital photography. And I'm a medium format guy (Mamiya 645). David
  20. "I bought a pair of 79 Cornwalls with radio shack horn tweeters in them, so I need two K-77s." Who would do such a horrible thing!
  21. I had not seen this article before, thanks for the heads up. BTW (Trey) the photo of the Cornwall is still incorrect .
  22. Just sent Paypal. Looking forward to hearing your work.
  23. Congratulations on the Khorns. Ask your wife to not judge until she hears them. My wife was none to happy when I brought mine home. When she heard them, her demeanor completely changed.
  24. Congratulations on the birthday, the Khorns, and the cool wife!
  25. That was a great show, maybe the best Superbowl halftime performance ever. I was impressed with the sound quality. McCartney is a real professional. The NFL made up for last year's goof.
