  1. I have done it several times. Each time, it was the right thing to do. A couple of my sons are both in IT fields and have jumped around quite a bit. One is a network and storage specialist, the other is in VR (his last job was as global content director for LeEco). He got tired of the way the Chinese do business.

  3. Use a roll tube from an empty paper towel roll held to your ear to focus in on tweeter, mid, and woofer.
  4. I have owned about a dozen MGB's. Got pretty good with every part of rebuilding one. My last one had a 3400 V6 from a '99 Grand Am. Yes, the engine was from a FWD car. Easy to turn it into RWD except for the water pump had to be electrical. Still have everything to rebuild king pins to SU carbs. Besides Lucas, I never understood how someone living in the climate of Britain could not design a car without water and wind leaks, and one that the heater would not heat effectively.
  5. I have owned a couple of pair of Norman Lab Model Ten over the last decade. Each time I sold a pair, I regretted it. Especially since the most I paid was $20 per pair. I have really liked the early Normans. The 4xx series was just way too bright for me, though the lamp in the cabinet that shown through the poly cones of the woofers was a nice touch.
  6. Glad you got your Cornwalls!!! My son decided he wanted my pair.
  7. Didn't get a chance to get to the storage building for pics tonight. Try again tomorrow.
  8. I can always pull my small covered trailer from Alma, AR. I may bring some stuff for sale. Stacked OLA's and Genesis II and some other stuff. Maybe Fraziers.
  9. I have a pair of Oak lacquered Cornwall II and a pair of La Scala in raw birch lacquered that I haven't used in a couple of years. Wasn't really looking to sell them but I really need to thin the herd. Both are mint, but you would have to twist my arm to get me to sell them. I am getting tired of paying storage fees...
  10. South Lyon, MI to the Klipsch pilgrimage in Hope
  11. Anybody coming from the Detroit area? I need to have a ' Shorthorn picked up.
  12. As a victim of childhood sexual abuse by a scoutmaster and another man, everything you say is true. The biggest problem is that adults find the topic taboo and don't want to discuss it. My mother had heard of allegations on the scoutmaster so she forced my dad to be an assistant thinking that would solve any likely problems. My dad was too naive to understand anything about a problem like this. It didn't work.
  13. Still have Klipsch coffee cups. My first set was given to me by PWK in 1977. Still use my more recent ones with the same wording as my first from '77.
  14. The water in that swimming hole was too cold for me even on the hottest day of summer! Last time I dipped a toe in there was probably '97.
  15. Arkansas is a state of regions. The Ozarks are different than the Ouachita area. The Arkansas River Valley blends some of both of those regions. The delta is different than those regions. The southern tier of counties are more like northern Louisiana. SW Arkansas has its own characteristics. Depends on if you will just be traveling to Hope or visiting other areas of the state.
  16. I use tankless heaters exclusively anymore. No experience with electric, but only natural gas fired ones. So far, I have only used shark bite fittings on some remodeling projects with NO failures. I have always lived in areas the the water needed no filtration due to water quality, but I do recommend using a particulate filter ahead of a tankless water heater. The rotary valve sensor that detects water flow can catch any debris coming from the supply line and cause the unit to not come on. A real PITA if the family is at home and you are away if that happens.
  17. I use PEX anytime I can. The problem I see with PEX is that it should only be installed with the expansion tools and not crimped. The wonderful thing about PEX is the chemical structure memory os the stuff. Not matter what it expands or contracts to, it will return to the size it was made. If using the expansion fittings, it is constantly trying to return to the original ID. This means it is continually contracting against the fitting. Even with oxygen barrier PEX, I like to use plastic fittings to prevent the destruction of the PEX caused by metal ions. When I managed a bleach manufacturing facility, PEX was the only material of construction that could withstand the pressures and temperatures of the process. Still changed all the piping annually, but that beat every three months with the best piping from other materials.
  18. My bikes: '61 Honda 300 Dream, '65 Honda 305 Dream, '66 Honda CL160 Scrambler, '71 Honda CLS 100, '71 Honda CL175, '92 Honda Nighthawk and a couple other partials....
  19. I ran both La Scala and Heresy at the same time pushed by a Marantz 2226b for a lot of years. Loved the sound of both together. The Heresy were elevated about 18" off the floor and next to the La Scala. It was my bedroom system.
  20. I second the polyfill. Did that to my CF-2 plus damped the horns.

  22. I have it both hears, but different frequencies. Can be a real bummer, but load music makes it go away. I suffer when it goes quiet. I wear ear plugs at concerts anymore trying to prevent further damage. The only concert I have been to in the last few years I didn't need ear plugs was Neil Diamond.
  23. http://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-udp-203/blu-ray-udp-203-Images.aspx Looks like it is going to be an amazing addition to any system!
  24. I am going to get killed if she sees this, but Judy has the same tattoo (minus the hair). Let's see if anyone can get her to drink enough to show it at the Pilgrimage! Can't be done since she doesn't drink, Hers does have a star at the corner of the mouth due to she flinched when it was being done and the artist had to cover the mark it made when she jerked. It isn't on her chest...
