  2. Where is our bud winchester? He didn't manage to get himself banned while I was away did he?
  3. [<)][H][Y] Happy anniversary. Glad you joined us!
  4. Nothing wrong with that fini....and thanks for your kind words and thoughts. Never was overtly religeous myself but said a lot of prayers and made some deals this time. Julia is doing great. She was moved to a step down room and did a lap around the ward today. So far so good. Hope your mother-in-law continues to do well[Y] I drove back to Wilmington this afternoon after being relieved by Julia's brother. Gonna unwind with a martini and finish watching the PGA match. Cheers gentlemen!
  5. No experience with Speak It fini but glad to hear her prognosis is good.
  6. Thanks guys. Typing from the cardiac care waiting room at Duke. The triple bypass and mitral valve repair went well. The surgeon finished up at 8pm and I saw Julia at 9:30.Today she is in a recliner and has walked a few steps with a walker. The kidney has suffered no damage so far and we are optimistic about a good outcome. Hope everyone is well and again thanks for the kind words.
  7. Good Harry...we were hoping you would on your own[]
  8. We have all been wondering when you were going to try that Frank. Glad it worked out.
  9. Certianly could and I've been called worse. The dtels, hippies or not, are allright with me[Y]
  10. About time for that 5 o'clock whistle......actually I took the afternoon off so it whistled at 12 o'clock for me. Bar is looking a little pitifull so it will probably be an absolut martini. Talked with Craig yesterday and he has finished a deluxe rebuild of my HK A500 integrated amp. Should be good for another twenty years. Next Friday......surgery day for the wife is closing fast. Trying not to think about it and enjoy this weekend. Hoping everyone is well. Winchester......was that you that got the 15 millon job thread locked[] Cheers gentlemen!
  11. Congrats Tom! I have no idea how I got to my total post count but I am sure at least two were informative, funny, or true.[:^)]
  12. Great pics. Looks like a fun time.
  13. Thanks Carl. Stop by sometime and we can spin a LP or CD. Would love to have another forum member over.
  14. Thank you guys....your support means so much. Julia had the heart catherization yesterday and it went fine. The damage report is the torn mitral valve, significant blockages in the arteries to the front and rear of her heart and some blockage to the side artery. On the positive side her arteries appear atypical for someone who has had diabetes for 55 years. The arteries appear "plump" and in good shape except for the blockages. We got home this afternoon and will be returning to Duke on August 12, and surgery will happen on the 13th. Recuperation will take 7-10 days in the hospital primarily because they have to break the breast bone to do the surgery. We wil certainly need your support again at that time. We are confident with the plan we have in place and decided to wait till the 12th so the best surgeon would be available. We are also very pleased with the cardiologist and the head of transplant services. Fini.....best wishes for the mother-in-law. I hope everything goes well. Hope everyone else is okay and thanks again. Chuck
  15. Need some of those well wishes here. My wife, Julia, had a heart attack on July 6 and will be going to Duke Monday for a heart catherization and possibly surgery. The down side is that the dye they use for the catherization is toxic to the kidney and her kidney is functioning at 13%. Life for the two of us has been in a holding position for the last three weeks. Prayers, crossed fingers, or whatever you do to wish others well....please do it.Hope I will be able to post next weekend that everything is fine and we made it through in the best possible shape. Till then.....cheers gentlemen.
  16. May want to remove the cats and rats before setting off bombs[:^)]
  17. A beer or two at bluesboy's place. Listend to the Tom Petty CD "Mojo". Very good soundng CD. Now home having a Belvedere martini listening to a CD compilation on my amazing 37 year old Teac RTR. Serviced once in all those years. Why aren't things built that way now days. Heck the VU meter bulbs lasted 32 years! Demagnitized bluesboys two decks and cleaned the heads.....should be good for a few more years... Cheers gents!
  18. Billy Beer.....from the brother of Jimmy Carter. I remember those days....19% mortgage rates[:#] A good thread none the less.
  19. Played in a softball league sponsored by a beer distributor in the 80s.....tried to drink his products since he paid the bills....but it was hard. The three brands he carried were PBR, Olde English 800, and Wiedemann. [:S]
  20. Happy vacation Boxx! A Belvedere martini with jalapeno stuffed olives to combat the dreadful humidity. Stocked up on fresh veggies at a roadside stand to go with chicken on the grill. Where are the regulars? Ben, Stew, Chilibone, winchester, Ace, fini? Cheers gents. Anyone watching the British Open?
  21. Mrs. JB advises that around 10:30pm JB was mumbling something about rounding out the roster for the Miami Heat. A little unsteady on his feet he somehow made it to the attic and found his high school basketball uniform and a pair of Keds. Bart was last seen in full uniform with a basketball under one arm, an umbrella in the other, catching a city bus........
  22. Sounds good Groomy. No Publix here but still a lot of fresh shrimp.....for now. Welcome back Ace! How is the back fini? Cheers getlemen!
