  1. I couldn't find reference to that in the ad, but I will take your word for it. Tho others have said differently.
  2. An aquaintance of mine is selling his Pioneer Elite vsx-95 this was apparently the companies first "Elite" receiver circa 1991. I can find precious little about it on-line, and nothing regarding specs. I posted here as it is primarily a stereo receiver, and I will only be using it as a two channel unit. Anyone ever had any experience with it?
  3. Weren't the RF5 also made in Hope?
  4. I have the entire movie memorized. I love the line "I got better." I think the humor of Monty Python has stood the test of time very well...My all time favorite scene is "Biggus Dickus" He who doth not laugh at that must be dead.
  5. If you want those RF-5's to really be at their best for music feed them with a dedicated stereo amp, with some serious power. I have owned a pair since Klipsch introduced them, for the first few years they were used with a slew of different av receivers, I then started using them strictly for 2 channel listening, and lots of power from Luxman, Nad, Marantz stereo amplifiers. The difference was like night and day, the RF5 are a great speaker and the last thing they suffer from is a lack of midrange. PS...currently running mine with a pair of bridged Luxman m-120 amps, and a Luxman c-120 pre.
  6. Had my Rf-5's since they were introduced, many other speakers have come and gone in those years but they have remained as the mainstay of my system, along with the RB-5's.
  7. I wouldn't say that I am a big fan of U2, but I'm quite enjoying this FREE album... Up-date...Finished listening to it, not bad, a couple of good tracks in there....7/10. I'll listen to it again for sure.
  8. She was a "comedian" ???? Anyway look on the bright side, her nose will live on into eternity...
  9. It was seriously funny back in the day...luv her.
  10. Why did I know that was coming?....lol
  11. As I recall, Miss Streisand rather dislikes being referred to as "Babs"....

The US Government holds a patent for medical marijuana, while at the same time is saying that there is no medical benefit from marijuana....Hypocrisy at it's finest.
  13. First class speaker, at an excellent price....the RB-5 are the longest I have ever kept a speaker.
  14. Every time you play a LP you are being forced to use EQ (RIAA)... Passive or Active loudspeaker crossovers are EQ networks as well.... EQing isn't the problem it's the improper use of EQing that's the problem...!!!! miketn Popcorn is in the microwave!!!....
  15. Oooh Yeah!! Luv them Belles...
  16. No... it was 1/500th @ f4.0 ISO 400. I needed a reasonably fast shutter as I was hand holding a big tele lens. I'm gonna give that a try myself. Thanks for sharing. You're welcome JL, I don't know what camera you are using, but if you can turn on "spot metering", and shoot in "manual" only get a reading of the moon itself, even then you will still probably find that still will blow out all the detail in the shot but it will give you a starting point. It's a whole lot brighter than you might think, pretty similar to taking a photo down here in daylight. Don't forget the tripod...that's your guarantee of a sharp shot....

  18. The waning "Super Moon" over Hope BC Canada...this morning 1.00 am.
  19. Thanks guys, I don't know how this T/T ranked back in the day, there is very little info on-line for it. I'm sitting out on my deck with it playing thru my hk630 Twin and RB5's, listening to a variety of classical music, really enjoying what I'm hearing. Maybe it would sound better with a newer stylus (original 76 according to my pal) but for the moment I will just enjoy. I think this is not a deck to be passed-up if you come across one at the right price, I would happily shell out $150 for a t/t like this.
  20. The only rubber is in the adjustable damped feet, direct drive... Only one small issue, the arm lift doesn't go all the way down sometimes, i'll check it out today.
  21. A buddy of mine was clearing out his garage yesterday...this was his gift to me. Sony PS4300 (circa 76) in what can only be described as mint condition, nary a mark on it, with a dust cover that is so clean it's nearly invisible...And yes that is a V15iii on the original Sony headshell, weighs in at over 20lbs. How does it perform?...Well it ticks all the boxes for me, I've been listening to it for the whole day, and nothing is telling me to turn it off...How's that for a review!....
  22. Don't worry EVERYTHING will be ok now that Lebron is returning to Cleveland...What a sad sad world we live in...
  23. No, only the claw is removed, although there are probably different ways vets will do it.We had happy cats and they never had a problem climbing on anything, they just couldn't tear stuff up. Our cats never had to defend themselves from anything. Sorry you feel that way. Our cats never had a problem health wise and got around fine, even being able to climb. Their personalities (for cats) were the best we ever had.Having cats neutered provides no benefit to the cat either, but people do that ALL the time. It is for the convenience of the owner. I'm afraid you are wrong about de-clawing, they have to amputate the bone because that is where the claw grows from in cats. There is no other way! Consider yourself lucky that you encountered no problems, many do, and it can be totally debilitating for some cats.
