  1. Glenn, THANK YOU for taking the time to post pictures and updates. it sure looks like you had a blast--i'm glad for you. it sure is a nice thing that you do, so us Klipsch Step-brothers on the west coast can see what's going on. i still think while you all had the van, you could have headed west--we know how to have fun out here too. hope you and verna had a safe trip home. Regards, Steve
  2. See Emily Play................Pink Floyd
  3. Right On Kev--glad to hear of the successful surgery. best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  4. You wouldn't have fared better if it was in Indy this weekend. It's completely oppressive today. Probably not quite as bad as Hope, but bad enough. Yuck. May I suggest Northern California? How about an Alaskan cruise?? Fini--although i've lived most of my life in SoCal, I'm an Oakland boy. Nearly moved to Bodega Bay last year, had a chance to work in Petaluma; but, opted to stay with my county job in SoCal (Orange County)--besides i'm afraid of birds ;-) Amy, any chance on moving the Pilgrimage to wintertime? :-) I spent five years in Michigan, so I can handle the cold. **Steve**
  5. so instead of finding a pot of gold, do you owe money?
  6. the chick was right, you know. i've tried to get back inside many cars that were engulfed in flames without being drunk. Maybe she was just a bit chilly? *Steve*
  7. nothing like a hunk of meat, a metal rod, and an open fire of white oak. that's the way we Portugees cook outdoors. *Steve*
  8. I envy you Glen, nothing like a good ole' road trip. Have a great time. *Steve*
  9. take a stoll down memory lane. What is the first alcoholic drink that you remember having? You can list the first hard drink and first beer. For me, i went camping with my cousins when i was 14. spent the entire weekend drinking Miller High Life. Back in my high school days, it was either Bacardi 151 or Two Fingers Tequila. *Steve*
  10. Hey guys, hope all is well around the Klipsch World. Finally got my backpay, so drinks are on me. They owed me $2349. I got $1100 and the rest went to taxes! Can you believe that? They kept over half of it for taxes. Hello, Mr. Obama--I ain't part of the rich. I make less than $250K, so why has my tax burden increased? Don't answer that anyone, i'm just whinning a bit. The $1100 came in handy because i had to pay a $690 traffic ticket. Goodbye Cornwalls that I wanted to buy.
  11. that is a tough one for sure. I'm very sorry for this loss. don't be angry at him though. we often use our own "filters" when we view other people's problems. though you & I would likely never do such a thing, I'll bet it wasn't an easy decision for him. suicide is the epitome of selfishness; but, i've had a very hard life and can remember many nights literally praying that i would die in my sleep. I wouldn't kill myself; but, i had lost the will to live and continue in the pain and crap that surrounded me. God obviously had other plans for me. But, I know what helplessness feels like--and it's a heavy burden. I'm sure that your friend's final days were very difficult for him. *Steve*
  12. ben, i believe that it is impossible to have too much pork in one day. that's sounds like an awesome breakfast. *steve*
  13. then let me do a real quick hijack and wish josh a belated happy birthday. hope it was a good one! Steve
  14. i really wanted to go to the pilgrimage and planned to--until i found out it was in Hope. Not that i don't want to go there; but, the weather is what kept me away. My asthma just doesn't like hot & humid weather...it really knocks me out. Looks like I made the right call by staying away. Hope everyone that attends has a good time. Steve
  15. Girls have a way of doing that. We're defenseless honestly, and can only hope that they use their power for good and not evil. Sounds like life is getting good for you my friend, Congrats. Steve
  16. happy birthday bruce--hope you have a great day...and many more!
  17. Dtel--you need to get in touch with your inner pimp. That watch, a purple velvet cape, a matching top hat, and a pearl cane--now you're ready for the pilgrimage!
  18. so did you buy his & hers watches?
  19. i just read it on yahoo; but, then again some east coast newspaper reported him dead yesterday. it would be nice if this was another erroneous report.
  20. Greetings everyone and happy friday. hope all is going well Chuck (take a quick break and make sure the turntable is either playing or off). i haven't been posting much these days either; but, i haven't been doing much walking either. after a decent 11 year break, my asthma has returned with a vengence. the past 10 days has been horrible. couldn't travel last weekend. can't carry on a conversation longer than a few minutes without getting winded. no idea what brought on this resurgence. been taking my usual three inhalers and pill; but, now had to add prednisone to the mix. kinda scary because last time (1999) that it got this bad, it lasted over a year. On the positive side, that prednisone completely removed the residual inflammation in my shoulder which is now 100% pain free. not meaning to complain; but, i'll take that shoulder pain in both shoulders if i could get rid of the asthma. have a good evening folks. ben, if you're out there, i think i have one ginger ale left--i'll tip it in your honor. regards, steve
  21. how long before he has to put on some ted nugent....cat scratch fever
  22. Dtel, maybe those two folks were chasing you down after you had just won another klipsch contest.
  23. I was hoping that he'd make it to 100 (would have been 100 in October). Heard on the radio today that he always wrote his wife a love letter every sunday and was still writing them 25 years after she passed. Great coach and a great man. Steve
  24. It's been reported that oil cleanup workers are getting sick. It is said that BP will not allow any cleanup worker on their payroll to wear a respirator. The reasons and implications are all too familiar, and all too obvious. I find it hard to imagine any human agreeing to do this work without protection. I suspect that 2 years from now, a big story will be the huge number of people with some strange chronic lung disease. They will sue BP, and BP and the government will say these people are "crazy" and making up illness. A lot of lives will be ruined. i must be a little slow today. why wouldn't BP want responders to wear respirators?
