  1. You can ask what you want but $1500 will be a tall order for Cornwalls unless they have an exotic wood finish and the original cartons and paperwork. Expect $800 to $1200 tops. Are they Walnut or Oak veneer, if they are Birch expect less.
  2. No risers, filthy grills are signs they weren't well cared for. $900 yeah right more like $450 tops.
  3. Why would alter your already timbre matched system. You have the correct side surrounds so it would be a downgrade not an upgrade.
  4. You aren't going to gain anything. If the engineers thought the speaker would benefit from polyfil they would have added it. Anyway standard home insulation works far better than polyfil if your goal is to try and slow the bass wave down (fooling the woofer into thinking it's in a bigger box). In a blind listening test you will not hear an audible difference.
  5. NO the original Forte' had a inverted rubber surround on the woofer not corrugated paper. You might be thinking about the Quartet.
  6. I would say that is on the high side but location and condition need to be factored in. If they are mint and all original, fully functional and near to you it would be worth it. I would offer $650 and work my way up if I had to.
  7. That amplifier is prone to failure time to call Klipsch and see if they will replace it for you.
  8. This guy has a single 50's Klipschorn and a single 50's Shorthorn that he would sell. They will need refinishing though. He is in VT. See pictures in thread.
  9. That is Oak Oil finished veneer. The label if intact should say KG 1.5 OO
  10. Talk to @Deang as he has tried just about all of them and he can recommend what he believes are the best for the money in your particular application.
  11. The ES networks are primarily designed for the La Scala, Belle and Klipschorn it would take some doing to adapt them to the Cornwall.
  12. The specifications would be the same as the standard Cornwall only the horns were oriented differently and the woofer was offset.
  13. You cannot use the ALK Universal network the with the adjustable taps in the Cornwall you need his Type B that he no longer offers I attached the schematic for you. I have them in my '80 Cornwalls and they are very, very nice networks. He stopped offering them because not to many people wanted to invest $500 to $550 in networks for their Cornwalls.
  14. Just so happens that I am an hour away from Montreal. Can't travel there though until the restrictions are lifted on 7/21 but the mail works.
  15. Anyone know a place or a person that I can send my Heresy HIP aluminum to get refinished and polished up? I would really love to have it done in black chrome or nickel plated. Even a good scuff removal and light polish would work I just don't have the tools to do it myself. If I had a wire brush wheel and a cotton one on the other side I would do it. Let me know if you know anyone or anyplace that can tackle the job.
  16. I would stay all pro unless you have them already.
  17. Came across this link on my local Craigslist seems like a great price for some really nice vintage Pioneer components and a Yamaha receiver. https://vermont.craigslist.org/ele/d/williston-huge-bunch-of-high-quality/7152365414.html I can assist if anyone is interested. Looks like manuals, wiring and some interconnects are included as well.
  18. I need to take the scotchbrite to my trim. Is it just the green scouring pad stuff?
  19. I spoke with him and received some more information and additional photos very nice gentleman. It is not a Shorthorn pair afterall it is a single shorthorn and a single Klipschorn from the late '50's. They will also need some work, the cloth fabric on the Klipschorn tophat (falling in) and side grills will need to be replaced and some the wood has alot of stains. The previous owner also appears to have sawed off the bottom foot or so of the Klipschorn's tailboard. The Shorthorn has the 16 ohm K-77, university midrange, and what looks to be the EV 15WK K-33 woofer. The Klipschorn has the K-5-J wood/fiberglass horn and the Univeristy driver and most likely the 16 ohm K-77. Last we spoke he could not get the woofer access panel off to see what woofer is in the Klipschorn. I did not inquire as to what he was asking for them since they weren't anything that I could use singles of unfortunately that and my friend that used to do all my wood refinishing for me succumbed to cancer last year. He is about 2.5 to 3 hours away from me as well anyone that is interested in singles and a project is welcome to contact him.

  21. You need to stick with a timbre' matched trio. Changing the center will gain you nothing and send your system backwards.
  22. Yes, three La Scala's here as well. As stated makes a great TV stand as well.
