I just recently integrated Cornwalls into my livingroom system. They are original Cornwalls, not IV, but since your concern is bass my experience should be relevant. The Cornwall bass is much cleaner, detailed, and more impactful than the Forte (I currently own both). You will miss some lower stuff without a sub if it is doing movies, but not so much for music. If I was in your position I would not hesitate to get the IVs. With both cleaner bass and far superior mid range it's a winner IMO BTW I do use a tuba table sub with mine... but the livingroom system is primarily for movies.

I tried the XLS 2002 with my modded Klipschorns this afternoon. Not as natural sounding or near the soundstage as the Schiit Aegir, which is no surprise, but the Crown really brings out bass detail. Makes me want to retry using the Crown on the bass bins and have the Aegir for uppers. Always fun to play around with stuff.

I was lucky enough to find a pair of Tannoy System 12 monitors about 20 years ago. Actually my first Ebay purchase, I believe I paid under $500 for them. A wonderfully accurate speaker, but quickly sold when I found my Klischorns. I had a pair of Fortes at the time and in direct comparison the Fortes were way more dynamic, but less accurate and balanced. The at the time stock 1976 Klipschorns ate their lunch in all metrics. A good set of System 12s run more than a $1,000 now, their bigger brother (System 15) are over $2,000.

No noise. I do have the XLS 2002 hooked to my pre/pro using balanced cables. Dead quiet with my ear right up against the speaker . I only want to try it with the Klipschorns to compare it to my current Schiit Aegir, which is the best amp I have heard with them. I think it will give me a better idea of it's limitations. It seems like Crown amps produce either love or loathing in the audio world. I have never tried the "Drive Core" amps full range before, instead I use them to power my 7 Quarter Pie bass bins where they have been excellent in that role. At least with Cornwalls it does an excellent job. I have used a Crown D75 for several years with the K-horn and it did a great job (also dead quiet). I am always pleasantly surprised how good these Crown amps sound on my very revealing speakers. I really don't get the bad reviews, esp. given the meager price of these. I have rolled some expensive tube and SS amps through my systems over the years. They are mostly gone, but all my Crowns are still here.

A couple on months back I picked up an old set of Cornwalls which I have refreshed with the aid of Bob Crites. I am now using them as mains in my living room 7.1 system with a Forte as center, Tuba Table sub, Heresy sides, and a pair of KG4 in the back. My amp is a 7 channel Adcom. I have noticed that the bass out the Cornwalls, esp in action filled movie scenes, is flabby and not well defined. Granted I am used to Quarter Pie horn bass in my basement theater as well as Klipschorns, but I thought the Cornwalls could do better. Wondering if it was the Adcom just running out of steam, yesterday I pulled a "lowly" Crown XLS 2002 amp out of the basement to see if swapping in the Crown in place of the Adcom on the CWs would help any. It did! Super clean bass and quite a good sound top to bottom even on two channel stuff. An easy fix and a lesson relearned on my part, these Crown amps really do punch way above their modest cost (I paid around $450 for this amp new). Given some spare time it will be interesting to hook it up to the Klipschorns and give it a real test.

I have been into multi channel music for several years. I currently own an Integra DHC-80.3 and Yamaha CX-A5200 pre-pros. I have found that having JRiver converting stereo files to multi channel provides superior results to having the pre-pros doing it. YMMV

I have the Q80R which is similar. So far its a great TV with an excellent picture and very good aps built in so no need for a Roku. I opted for the Samsung over the LG OLEDs because of their anti reflective screen since the TV lives in a bright room. No regrets.

Works well for me. All of my CDs are ripped (FLAC) and stored on a desktop, then backed up to a NAS. I have 5 different systems that use desktops running JRiver to stream from the NAS.. A couple use Integra DHC-80.3 pre-pros, one a Yamaha A-5200 pre-pro, the other two misc. lower end dacs. I can't come up with a compelling reason to do it any other way. Retired desktops do a stellar job in this capacity.

I actually don’t know. I used the power cord from the previous amp and chucked the factory one in my box of misc. cords. All I know is that is black. How’s that for absolutely no help.😳

A single Aegir sounds stunning on my modded K-horns, best amp I have owned by a long shot. You would probably need two for something like a Cornwall.

No, I have a SS Integra DHC-80.3 preamp. Great DAC built in and decodes SACDs. I thought about the Freya but the Integra/Aegir combo sounds very very good.
