  1. Sandwich is a long way from Worcester, they look nice but I have a nice pair of Heresys I will give you for $250 and I work in Worcester Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I have had both, the Mach ones are actually good, an aberration for RS! But the Fortes are in another class. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I have had cf's , klf's and fortes, I would rank them klf, then forte then cf's I had cf 2's and they seriously needed a sub with them, the fortes were 2's and were a little better than some Heresy's I had and the klf's I have had are 20's and 30's so I have never have heard 10's.....maybe not apples to apples..... 4. The kg 4 is the best of the kg line, they are good but not great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I had Mcintosh solid state power on my Klipschorns a while back, I had the 2105 (recapped) and moved up to a 7106 and found a huge difference in sound, the newer model had much more clarity and high end detail, I guess people would call the 2105 "tubey" if high end rolloff is your idea of good tube sound. I picked up a 2205 at one point and hated it after having the 7106, sounded muffled compared to the newer stuff again. The fellow who I sold it to says it has "great bass slam". I'm using newer VTL tube mono blocks now and not looking back at all. Ed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. The amp actually bolts to the back of the preamp-tuner to create a gigantic receiver. I have a 22000 and it is the same only 220 Wpc instead of 330. And...$2000 for a g33000 is a steal! I would buy it in a heartbeat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Let me add...that is a very good price for a very good speaker, I would recommend them highly! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. My wife is a saint....you wouldn't believe what she puts up with, starting with me in general but then stereos in every room and 4 pairs in the living room at the moment! Have I met you in Clinton? Did you replace these with bigger ones? Ed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Dang, I was looking for a pair of these forever and finaly broke down and got 30's instead.... I needed them for surrounds, I have 30's in the front with a c-7, had 20's in the middle and wanted 10's for the rears...now I have 30's in front, 30's in the middle and the 20's are doing rear duty...
  10. I just thought this one was funny as hell, its my Gravatar...follows me around the internet to all my sites
  11. To the original question, yes upgrade, then upgrade again...and again, and then again! I find it is a never ending adventure and is what makes this hobby so much fun! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Other than the kg 4 the rest of the series is "OK", this isn't such a "killer deal" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Equipment in the middle? I would put the belles first with the Cornwalls on top of them vertical then the lascalas on the outside Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Oak sounds much better than birch, everyone knows that! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Where you are located seems to play a major factor. Here in the northeast you are lucky to get over $1500 for a pair. But it seems the Midwest seems to have sales up to $3000 routinely. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I have excellent results with howards restore a finish for walnut and steel wool ( the directions on the can) with Klipsch speakers that have scratches and stains, the howards feed and wax is the natural final but any oil would be fine. Most klipsch speakers have an oil finish already, if it is on the label....WO.....walnut oil Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Well I guess a trade isn't in the cards! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Where r u located? I may be interested in the Rega....have a pair of lascalas to trade Ed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I don't have the Montis, but I do have ML Sequels, had Maggie's mg2's and I have Klipschorns. I find that the Martin Logan's along with many other speakers, most notably to me ADS 1590's and KEF 107's have amazing high end detail and silky smooth midrange which the Klipschorn does not. But after extended listening sessions the klipschorn has a fullness of sound that much closer resembles live music which the others can not compete with. Just my 2 cents Ed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I was in, Columbia record house, you had to tape a dime to the card and get your first ten records " free" then it was buy 6 to fulfill your commitment, for 4 times what they would cost in the store and if you didn't return the card you automatically got the record of the month. I learned if you didn't open it you could right "return to sender" without having to pay return postage. I don't remember all the albums I got but it was the start of my collection when I was 12 or 13, Aerosmith toys in the Attic, kiss alive and destroyer, those are the only ones I remember... 21. Heresys are great speakers, all of em! Unless you have a budget where price is not really an issue I would look for a nice pair of "used" 1's or 2's to start. You can find a very nice pair for somewhere in the $500 neighborhood, more or less depending on how hard you look, patience etc. a new pair of 3's will be over $1000. You may find them sufficient and never need anything else...or you may get the upgrade bug and wind up with multiple upgrades until you find yourself with Klipschorns!
