  1. I think he got banned/suspended for a period of time due to some posts Travis didn't like. I'll reach out to him via Facebook and see if it's still in effect.
  2. The Klipsch resto guys are local to me and I've met them when selling some cornwall parts in the past. Their shop is legit and they seemed nice enough. I'll often see their speakers here on the DFW craigslist and I find their taste questionable at times. They oversell the "upgraded components" sourced from Crites to justify the premium they usually ask. I don't think they're nefarious in nature, but I have to imagine they saw what Volti audio does and figured they could capture a piece of that market by simply applying their carpentry skills to rehab and flip some speakers. You're paying a premium for those speakers, and all of it goes to some fresh black paint and veneer - just keep that in mind.
  3. He's a lawyer, not an accountant - they have larger margins of error (the former, not the latter).
  4. It's been out for a couple of years, but I only recently came across it. The Marantz NR1200. https://www.marantz.com/en-us/product/av-receivers/nr1200 It's got all the modern HDMI goodies, a few analog inputs, and even a phono pre (no idea quality), WITH stereo and subwoofer pre-outs. Includes modern audio streaming service support and 100% does not include Audyssey or any other room correction software. There are very few options out there that tick all those boxes. It's perfect for people like me that have gone down to stereo systems, especially with active XO's and REW, but still want to use modern digital playback systems and video formats. No more hassles with room correction trying to "fix" the signal chain, no wasted amp sections and chassis bulk, etc.
  5. The Taiko is on it's way to becoming one of your longer owned components!
  6. If drenched in his sweat, with provenance, sure.
  7. Doh! My bad... didn't realize you were hoarding those.
  8. I was the original buyer of the those B2 networks straight from Dean. Besides the unobtanium Jupiter flat stack capacitors they also have the no-longer-available wax dipped/infused autoformers that Dean had made by Universal Transformer (ironically just a couple miles away from where I live, and a long time mfgr to Klipsch). Very good sounding networks if you're into believing that sort of thing has an impact. GLWS on the whole package Schu.
  9. Update: The Benchmark is sold. Headphones available only. Everything is sold. I had some speakers fall into my lap and haven't any extra amps, etc. So seeing if I can move these two items. The headphones were purchased new this year from Moon Audio, and I'm the second owner of the Benchmark. Pictured below to show they're real, but I've got the pelican case and original shipping box for the headphones, along with the original box/remote/manual etc for the Benchmark. Selling as a package for now because I haven't any use for one without the other. Will split if buyers can be found for both items. $2100 $850 shipped and paypal'd in the lower 48 states.
  10. Hooked a pair up to test today using a 20wpc Lepai amp and though a bit anemic (not suprised) they sound really really good. I bought these for our upcoming house build and will be putting a pair in the living room with some sort of unobtrusive sub for basic tv/movie/music and another pair on the back porch with a TH SPUD clone for outdoor music. Fresh paint and THX mod for sure, not sure yet on the titanium tweets replacements.
  11. Old Henry Not particularly groundbreaking, but a really solid western none the less. Good performances all around.
  12. here you go: https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/
  13. But what are you using for the actual music playback software? Apps such as Roon or Foobar2000 allow you to apply some EQ in the player itself. edit: derp, I just noticed you specified Tidal as the playback software.
  14. Is this the titanium diaphragm? Crites only seems to sell one and the look fairly universal, but I'm not sure how universal they are.
  15. I'm attending an event soon too and threw together an audio laptop using an old piece of kit that's been sitting on the shelf. I'll be curious to see if anyone can discern a quality difference.
  16. Same. Been exclusively stereo for almost two years now and don't miss surrounds, dedicated center, etc. Big mains and big subs are giving me all I need.
  17. And you use this entirely in a portable setup, or as a source for your main 2-channel rig?
