  1. I listen to loud rock music on my Corns daily, even as I type this. I consider myself a snobbish audiophile and revel in my system, contrary to earlier comments about loud Cornwalls
  2. The fronts and center are where matching is absolutely critical. You can get away with slightly errant surrounds. And Bose is crap.
  3. They're compatible. DTS-HD contains the old-fashioned DTS core which your receiver can decode.
  4. Monoprice sells perfectly working components for a relative pittance. Use them for absolutely everything that you can.
  5. That's a terrible place for those heresies. 5.1 is designed thusly, with the surrounds positioned just above ear level:
  6. I stumbled upon this and found it hilarious: http://www.klipsch-direct.de/Klipsch-Hotties.html
  7. I'm 23-years-old and rock a Heritage system. Nothing beats these huge old things.
  8. Really? Sports interviews are absolutely mindless wastes of time, usually spoken purely in cliches. Here's what Favre would have said, "Yes, we wanted to win, but came up with a loss. We scored less points than our opponents because they played like true competitors and were better than us. Yeah, I wish I hadn't thrown that interception, because it led to the opposition getting the ball, but sometimes that's just how the donut crumbles. The trick is to just get back up on that horse" etc. Who cares?
  9. I've used the b-Enspirer sound card for three years without complaint. http://www.bgears.com/b-enspirer.html Great SQ, great software and even comes with a toslink cable.
  10. Keep those Heritage mains! If you can grab that third Heresy, great. If you can't, or the dimensions prove difficult, look for the aforesaid Academy which is more so a traditional center speaker. I had this array for a while and loved it.
  11. Metal with massive double-bass? Truly ought to invest in a sub.
  12. I use the Onkyo with my "older klipsch speakers." Sounds great, has many HDMI ports and can be had for much less refurbished. $329.99 http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXSR607BLK/Onkyo/Tx-sr607-7.2-channel-Home-Theater-Receiver/1.html
  13. I can't speak on the tweeters, but replacing the caps is a breeze, especially with that tutorial to guide you. Go for it, man.
  14. Great stuff. Is your a2-300 experiencing production delays? Fortunately they had a surplus when I ordered mine. You'll love it.
  15. There is no crossover point when you set your speakers to large.
  16. My gf came with me when I picked up my '79 Corns this summer. She laughed and called me crazy when she saw them. I was also mildly shocked. [] It's funny, one of my tweeters didn't work properly either. What I discovered, however, was that cranking the receiver a bit would turn the thing on, and I could then return to lower levels with it continuing to work. It then somehow fixed itself. I also just recently installed caps from Bob. Took about an hour for both and they sound great. Do it!
  17. Most people have small crap speakers? Use whatever sounds best to you, man. I have my Corns at 60hz, Heresies at 70hz and Academy at 80hz.
  18. Not sure if it's been stated, but the DTS/DD you will receive via optical with blu-rays is the "core" of the lossless track, which is at a higher bitrate than their DVD counterparts. Some people can't tell the difference between the core and complete lossless track.
  19. Either your settings were off or your sub is broken. This movie is LFE madness. The 7-11 scene in particular will destroy foundations. []
