Used to ride old Cruiser's on the mountain trails with my wife. This was before we knew anything about Mountain Bikes. I'm talking a 1947 Royal with the springer front end. Made by Schwinn for Royal. The other bike was a Schwinn Cruiser that also had the springer front end. Bike shop emptied out to look at the old Schwinn. The heck with the Royal they were working on for me. Everyone had to drool over the old Schwinn. One speed on mountain trails. Solid steel frame. Heavy as all get out but still fun. Fat tires as they came from the factory. Not what you want for chasing your girl Friend though. Although she might wait for you just for the cool factor of the old bikes.

The Tool Man here in town has advised me to avoid Milwaukee tools. I was told that they used to make good equipment but now are made of more plastic parts that don't last. He has always steered me right, even suggesting I buy products that he did not handle.

This tech that I contacted has very good reputation. On the other hand he is making his own very highy regarded tube and solid state gear and it might be the case that he has no time to deal with such things like fiddling with broken pots. I asked him about DeOxit treatman and he replied that if this would be possible, he would certainly do it. He also mentioned something that is beyond my comprehension-he measured the pot and it has no mass (if I understood correctly), and that such thing require pot replacement. I was raised knowing that if I got too far out of hand I would be reacquainted with the Razor Strap. And I did become well acquainted from time to time. My kids were raised in similar fashion. My Daughter once told me she was going to call the cops if I was going to spank her. My response was Do you want to dial the number before or after the spanking? All in all they turned out pretty good.

I think a lot of it depends on the maturity of the kids. I can remember being left with a dog to watch us while we were camping. Fire going, lake side campground. Of course times were different then, and there were other campers around. Does your child have a neighborhood home for a safe place? Lot of variables to consider.

First I want to say how sorry I am for your loss. I have went outside and cried after a patient died. The on call Doctor would not order enough pain med to control her pain. It is a sorry state when someone is dieing and adequate pain medication is not ordered because they may become 'addicted' . As far as I know there is no piss test in Oregon for pain medications. I'm just Sorry for both you and your wife.
