  1. With some careful planning and a lot of blankets, you shouldn't have any trouble. One good thing about U-Haul trailers is that they are low to the ground and will offer you more room to shift things around once inside. Trying to Shoe-Horn K-Horns into a vehicle can be trying and frustrating. (You will still need a lot of blankets etc) Good Luck!! JJ
  2. Larry: The Women's Hockey loss was tough to take but I watched all the games for there was added interest. A local woman, from a small town of 600 called Siren, WI, was skating in her 2nd Olympics. Her Collegiate Hockey was played at the Unv of WI-Madison Way to go Molly!!!!! http://www.vancouver2010.com/olympic-hockey/athletes/molly-engstrom_ath1023998Mq.htmlhttp://hockey.teamusa.org/news/2009/12/17/2010-u-s-olympic-women-s-ice-hockey-team-unveiled/29988'>
  3. How to create, read and interpret Frequency charts/graphs. Thanks JJ
  4. TV!!??!! There's no TV in a 2 channel set-up!!! They just get in the way!! [] Plus, I still haven't found the right cable to get the video portion of my LP's to work JJ Dude, with all that......time to get a larger TV!
  5. I'm currently running a ST-70 (point to point mod by Craig) and a JM-Blueberry Pre with my Belles. I think it's a very good match. I've also ran the ST-70 with a JM-Peach Pre with my K-Horns. Also a good match but I'm now running the K-Horns with a Scott 299c. I would say go for it!!!!! You may have to experiment with different Pre's just in case you don't get the WOW factor you are looking/hoping for. Thanks JJ
  6. Win: Who was it that you purchased the Cleaning machine from on Agon? Was it Quest for Sound in Bensalem? The price you paid brings it a little closer to my price range for I'm torn between a manual system (Record Doctor III) and the VPI 16.5. There's about a $200 price difference between the two and I want to guard against the "Buyers Remorse" of not going to a more Automated cleaning process. My collection is rather small (approx 125lps) and grows at a snails pace so I could get by with a manual unit. ARGHH!! I hate these type of decisions. Thanks JJ
  7. Artto: I use this product on my TT, which is just a cheapie MusicHall 2.1, with a less then fancy stylus. It does the job and it's quick and easy to use. If you want, I can send you mine to use for awhile for I'm not spinning vinyl much anymore. Send me an email if you are interested in trying it out. JJ
  8. It appears that Greg has changed his website but here is a link to his new site http://voltiaudio.com/ Very well documented refurbs showing Greg's excellent work. JJ
  9. wps: I was able to get to their site http://www.mofi.com/ so unless I got lucky and they just fixed the problem, you may have issues on your end. JJ
  10. I'm not too sure either, but I think that there are two pieces to the puzzle: 1. Hardware (Glasses emitter) 2. Software (Drivers, renderer's, etc). The Samsung manual only shows how to configure a PC for 3D playback but there must be other ways. If there is a way to install a software program (Which comes with the starter pack referenced on the above mentioned URL) on the PS3 I think we will be in business. Sony will probably or may already have, something in the works for 3D playback. Please share what you find out after you speak to Samsung. Thanks JJ
  11. Here is a link to the particulars. http://pages.samsung.com/us/dlp3d/ I did some researching after hearing all the great reviews about Avatar in 3D. (I have the 61" version of Samsung) There isn't much out there content wise, but it may be worth the $140 or so when Avatar becomes available on DVD/BD. JJ
  12. Scott: I accidentally posted a question for you in your old Denon For Sale ad so sorry for the double post. What are the specs on the stand you are using for the C-7? Thanks JJ
  13. Scott: What are the specs on the stand you are using for the C-7? I've been looking for ideas and yours is the first I've seen that may work in my situation. Thanks JJ
  14. Tarheel: Where did you buy the 12ax7's? Thanks JJ
  15. Very nice, indeed!!! What are the dimensions of your HT room? Thanks for sharing JJ
  16. Wuzzzer: I strongly recommend/suggest/ that you take Kevin up on his offer. I've had the honor and privilege to audition his set-up a couple of times and his Altec modded K-horns have to be heard to be appreciated. Since I have a pair of K-Horns, it didn't take too long to notice the HUGE improvement that the Altec driver/horn make compared to my K-Horns. Kevin also has a great selection of tube amps so if you haven't heard tubes before, you are in for a treat. We all know that the speakers and the amplification are only 1 piece to the puzzle; you still need a proper room to make it all come together. I can't begin to describe in words Kevin's listening room (I can't find the forum post with the pictures). You just have to experience it yourself to appreciate the hard work and planning that was done to make everything just right. Make the trip...you'll be glad you did. JJ P.S. Your newly painted Altec's look excellent and bet it adds a nice touch to your listening room decor.
  17. Hi: I'm going out on a limb but my guess is that the "5" is really an "S", which would make the date of the La Scalas..1978 vintage. JJ
  18. Hi Jarrod: I ran into the same problem you are experiencing a month or so ago. Since I didn't end up buying the sub, I didn't pursue the problem. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that the problem isn't on your end. Shoot an email off to Amy, Amy.Unger@klipsch.com , She'll get to the bottom of the problem Thanks JJ
  19. I can't remember the exact eBay seller, but this is the same charger I purchased. http://cgi.ebay.com/Logitech-Harmony-880-890-720-Remote-Battery-w-Charger_W0QQitemZ190343236822QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2c51574cd6 JJ
  20. I've had the 880 remote for about 3 years and the charging station did stop charging for me. All I did was buy a wall charger and an extra battery on ebay for $20 and haven't had a problem since. The LCD screen is showing it's age as it's not as clear and bright as it was, when new. Other then that, it has been a great unit and haven't run across any electronics that it couldn't control (except the already mentioned Ps3) JJ
  21. nice...it's a balmy 26 degrees right now. The inside House temp reads 53..and no, I'm not turning on the heat..its way toooo early JJ P.S. I hope retirement is serving you well, Bill!! You deserve it
  22. Anyone have any snow on the ground? Sorry for the screen effect, its too cold to poke my nose out the door.
  23. I was in the same boat as you and I've just pulled the trigger on an Onkyo 607. Delivery Date of 9/29. There were some concessions (No pre-outs for the fronts, etc) but with my budget there was no way around it. Buying used wasn't an option. Never been a big fan of Onkyo, but the newer models have been getting good press so I took a flier. The price was right and the need was there to replace my 9 yr old Denon 3801. I've been nothing but a Denon owner in regards to A/V receivers so I have my fingers crossed that all will be good. (a little..ok..a lot of buyer's remorse going on right know.) If time permits, I'll report back with my thoughts/concerns on the 607. Thanks JJ
