the K43E cast frame woofer , sure looks very different from a K43 steel basket ---could the K43E cast handle more power than a K43 steel basket woofer

he should have lodged you , or housed you for 1 month with full perks , rental car , etc , and if you decided to stay , 1 full year , all expenses paid , this is the way you attract good talent , you pay the way , for the new manager to settle in - no worries -it's not easy to transplant one self from a settled lifestyle , at a moment's notice , even with money promises on the line , but incentives do speak louder ----

Heresy 1 speakers are some of the toughest speakers out there , the K55 and K77 are shared with the khorn-Cornwall and LaScala , and when these drivers or crossovers are in such a smaller enclosure , they last for a long time - - you can do a host of changes to the Heresy 1 - but as @Oicu812 said it already @ClaudeJ1 has done wonders with the Super-Heresy 1 and I would go that route if you want to revamp your Heresy 1 to a much better sounding speaker - the woofer is the key change , the tweeter can remain or you can change it for a better one , the K55V is not modified , and the crossover is upgraded to a B network modification only -

you can always build a DIY pair of bass bins if this is the speaker you really want -

Being that these are all original speakers 1967 and the drivers are also original , and the cabs are in mint condition , ----it would be a shame to modify anything except for the capacitors since these do wear out after so many years - these are unique speakers -the woofers and the Mids and the tweeters are all Alnico magnets , the woofers are Jensen , they are sought after for their good sound - -a capacitor change would be up to you ------but keep the old parts in case you want to put them back all original - -what I would recommend would be to find an owner of a pair of late seventies - early 80's B networks and swap these into your speakers , as they are a perfect fit for your drivers , and if you do not hear any sound amelioration , do not upgrade your capacitors , but if you hear a better sound reproduction , replace the capacitors -
