  1. Thanks for the parts listed! That's very helpful. I will definitely be trying these when I get my Chorus II back out of storage.
  2. Sweet! Sounds like a fun project. What gauge wire did you pick for the two inductors?
  3. Do you have any pictures or parts list? I'm definitely interested!
  4. Great deal. I would have already jumped on these myself, if I didn't have the Beyma version.
  5. I really like mine. Hard to beat for that kind of money.
  6. What's the price on these, out of curiosity?
  7. Thanks for the input! I'll try to check them out. I like their slim profile, which would fit nicely in my video setup.
  8. There's a pair available for sale in the area, I'm not sure if it's 35 or 36 until I go see them. They appear to be well-made and weren't cheap when new. How do they sound? Are they worth checking out? How do they compare to similar more modern models? They look cool!
  9. Those look like Speaker Lab Ks. That's a hell of of lot of speaker for $250! I wouldn't be deterred by the particle board. They're heavy and survived this long, not exactly flimsy. Definitely worth checking out for someone who wants Khorns but can't afford or find any used.
  10. Enjoy the Tangents! I have a pair of T-5000 in the upstairs bedrooms setup, and they can rattle the house. I agree, the drivers are pretty beefy. The woofer is vented in the center, and 4ohm as you mentioned. I think there's a thread on here comparing the Forte/Forte 2/Tangent T5000 directly. The forward placement vs rear placement of the passive may also be a factor in comparisons, since it would interact differently with the room. They're definitely under the radar! I re-did the crossovers with new caps and replaced diaphragms with Crites Ti. Definitely worth the effort, even though the cabinets aren't as pretty or heavy as the other models. :-)
  11. How do you apply the mumps exactly? Do you have photos or a thread elsewhere? Sounds very interesting!
  12. Pm sent, I'll take em if still available. Thanks, Adam
  13. Are you sure its the cabinet? It's a pretty heavy and well made box. Sounds like there's an air leak, possibly through the gasket material. Check the rear passives also, and that screws are tight. I had to redo the gaskets on my Tangents. You can buy gasket tape from Parts Express website.
  14. I have those in my Speaker Lab Ks. They sound great.
  15. I really like those tweeters in my SB3. Good luck with your sale!
  16. Huh? I emailed and the owner yesterday and he said there were four people ahead of me.
  17. Do current production Heritage speakers still use autoformers? I was under the impression that they aren't used anymore, at least in the Khorns.
  18. Speakerlabs can be really great! Nice find. I bet they can crank.
  19. I'm a big Parasound fan. I'm sure this amp sounds great and the price is very reasonable. Good luck with your sake! And your sale! ;-)
  20. It will probably sound great. I use a big Marantz 2330B 130 watt receiver with my Klipsch and love it. I would advise learning how to check set DC offset and Bias, which are easy to do if you're careful and follow instructions using a multimeter. Or have a local tech go over it. The amp is from 1978-1980, so it's not fifty years old yet! Lol. Great era for stereo.
  21. Hmmm, I don't quite understand the amp failure part of the story. Perhaps the amp is to blame? I haven't heard Bob's replacement woofers before, so I can't comment on their sound. I've bought other parts from him before without any problems.
  22. I recently picked up a pair of Overture 3s. I really like them. They're higher efficiency, with an elliptical horn waveguide for the tweeter. I'm a fan of larger Klipsch also, but these are very nice sounding speakers in a narrow cabinet, which is nice if room is a constraint. I say, take your speakers over and compare them! :-) You might be surprised. The Infinity were pretty expensive when they were new, nothing against the Klipsch.
