  1. I noticed an immediate better picture when I hooked my oppo up, the picture was sharper. Probably not as big of an improvement as the pics, but I definitely noticed a difference as well.
  2. Are those pics without any picture settings changed in the oppo? I messed with the settings a bit on mine, but ended up going back to no settings as it seemed to have made it less natural to me. I guess I would rather change the settings on the TV than the oppo if I'm wanting to mess with the picture. I need to get one of those home calibration disks and see what I can do.
  3. You could also get a diffuser, correct? I just bought a Canon T3i, so I'm a noob when it comes to DSLRs as well...
  4. I absolutely love airplay. I listen to way more music on my HT now that I have it.
  5. I have them set up as my rears...can't really say much as using them as fronts, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it if I had to for space reasons.
  6. From what I've heard, people that calibrate have codes to access other menus as well for fine tuning. I gotta say it's probably something that I will never get done professionally. Who knows tho...
  7. Good stuff. I want another 115 myself.
  8. I always recommend starting at cnet.com and then expanding your research from their top picks. You could also go to newegg and check out the best sellers.
  9. Check to make sure all of the speakers are in phase. Check all the connections to make sure everything is hooked up right.
  10. I would agree with what scrappy said. If music is your main choice then getting a second pair of the exact same speaker is going to be optimal. I would love to have a 7.1 surround system with all of the same speaker. When I listen to all channel stereo in my setup, the different kinds of speakers just kinda sound 'off' so I usually turn it back to stereo. Multichannel music sounds great out of the RS-62IIs tho.
  11. I used the PS3 as my bluray for quite some time. It does a good job and if you plan on using it to game then by all means go for it, but if you really don't think you'll be using it to game much, then I would go elsewhere for a bluray player. Dedicated players are faster all around, and that was one of the biggest things I noticed as well as the picture being sharper when I upgraded to an oppo.
  12. And also what the guy didn't say is that you won't get 110x7 when all channels are driven. You will get the rated power from the emotiva. As far as the having to turn it up more, not sure what to tell you there, but as long as it sounds good...did you re-run Audyssey after you got the amps hooked up?
  13. Wouldn't be a fuse if the light is coming on and he is getting a touch of sound from it. Opening up the sub may point at something obvious tho, but maybe not. It's worth a look.
  14. From what I've read, it EQs 2 subs, but not separately like an AVR with SubEQ built in. It's basically an internal Y connector.
  15. I wouldn't call it false advertising, but misleading advertising, most definitely.
  16. Most likely will, but it will also depend on the quality of the sub.
  17. I've been eyeballing the canon T3i for some time. I'm going to be getting it soon and it has 1080p 30fps recording.
  18. Try setting your tuner crossover to 120 as well. You may be missing some bass notes with it set at 80.
  19. This is my problem with LED as well, it just doesn't look natural to me and the blur drives me nuts. For plasma I've been looking at the panasonic GT50 series. ST50 is supposed to be best bang for the buck, but I like a couple of the extra features in the GT50. Before you buy, check prices on Amazon, I'm guessing you can get a better deal.
  20. These are what I use: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR7506-Professional-Diaphragm-Headphone/dp/B000AJIF4E/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1354509779&sr=8-11&keywords=sony+headphones. They are studio grade headphones, so their sound is pretty darn good. I got a pair of these in college, use them for DJing and used to use them for audio production and now mostly use them for every day listening. I'm on my 3rd pair in about 12 years. They would probably last longer but get some abuse in my DJ bag.
