  2. Very nice collection! tube amplifiers are better than gold literally. They sell easier than gold. I truly believe the more the better..you just cannot go wrong.

The same thought crossed my mind. I like dead rooms myself although i believe we are imagining the truly dead room. I will save the link for use in the future. Very useful. Front facing wall this would be premium. I have had friends in concrete/brick wall basements who find the whatever you can call it bouncing around endlessly priceless sound. Its actually quite nerve racking and that doesnt describe it. Theres no way to get through to some of them as well. Nails acrossed chalk board is better in i would prefer a controlled room. This is premium acoustics wall for use is premium sound rooms which would result in both stopping transmission of sound into adjacent rooms as well as room treatment such as bass traps etc...

    Nice link. looks great..thanks thebes
  5. so so very true lol menards assistance was none existant to say the least but they sure tried haha and man is them trying annoying
  6. online only i would imagine. some of the acoustical panels are cool. menards carries everything i seen on there to a t. the audiosource amps are alright and some of them bridge. kind of opens up new places to get things you need at "last minute". other than them panels being economical(or equal in value, some were unique) i wouldnt go in and just go crazy. better deals to be had elsewhere. i have spent a good hour looking through the menards section even bought some monster bananas i would heavily recomend steering away from the pyle section although if there are issues i know menards will replace and refund cash months after somthing breaks, drill in particular...no pyle stuff here lol
  7. I know you have the palladium line in your home. What a truly great comparison you would have between the 2 in your home. This with you may be one of the greatest testaments in the top levels of home sound reproduction. Over a period of time it would be nice to see if you can do without one or the other. Beyond comprehension for some although very interesting nonetheless.
  8. I can with my 225 grado cans. I will figure out what cd/s i have on an amp(its been a while and kind of irritating although interesting, to hear ambient sounds)and report back. I love my sound room im listening in to be completely silent minus what i fill it with. Interesting you hear this even on/with bluetooth and iphone...mp3? Im strictly cds. My 15year old and my ex wife taught me all i know about iphone music ands not much lol. I always lose quality when they give me burnt/ripped cd's. Yet some are actually better than others, burnt/ripped of course interesting you pull in sounds from greenland on them ham radios
  9. The jubs are double the size of my belles. Ironically my music room is 12x18. My issue was i had no room for anything else speakers in particular. In my opinion considering you have the space to use other systems in other rooms unlike myself running theater and 2ch in the same room you would be in good shape sound wise. I would primarily condition the wall behind the jubilee's and you would be golden. I have listened to jubilee's powered by a mc275 in a floor carpeted room with system ran width wise rather than lenth wise completely closed in with no treatment15x20. The sound was flawless&truly unforgettable. The jubs were 3 way if im not mistaken(and from what i know now im mistaken) and completely stock. Tuning your room a bit would result perfectly. I wish you all well.
  10. i see youv been running tubes for about 5 years i have now for about 4 yrs. still have some solid states but there used for r&b and movies. everything else is tube.
  11. Bet it sounds absolutely flawless. Nice system! I just read your system specs, yeah your tube spoiled, you know already.......... I am no doubt lol I have owned some very nice tube equipment as well as very high priced speakers and some remain in my collection but i only use the stuff i get really cheap in price then upgrade to even out the economical part of this hobby. I absolutely cannot get enough of tube amplification. i cant sleep unless tubes are a button press away. spoiled is a better description. I also like collecting tubes and breaking them in. I know your the kinda guy that runs them angels on them splits nonstop. its a true addiction
  12. It could possibly be a leak in the cooling system. If this is the case with an experienced tech its about a $200 total cost fix maybe less
  13. Unplug it for as long as possible, a full day would be good. After a day make sure its plugged into a power conditioner and possibly you may resolve some of the issue
  14. Bet it sounds absolutely flawless. Nice system!
  15. I see it because it needs done. Crites puts out the most logical for the cost and is honest to a T so you really cannot go wrong. On top of that the work he does they work great. They always sound so much better. With Dean i'd love to have him do work for me but im broke and i feel like i'd be cheating on Bob. Dean is cutting edge and i'v seen his work as complete works of art. Iv seen some of Deans work and would litterally hang them on the wall. And o yeah the functionality of Deans work is supreme. I have some networks sitting around i use as art in my studio. Crites is the standard of perfection and Dean will open your ears beyond what many thought was even possible. diy is nice although working with the top dealers in the business results in lifetime support and they have the numbers in their mind or very close by
  16. I find jazz, and classical better on the two channel setup and heavy bass music on the HT. yes i agree. i have about 1500 cds which range from gospel to rap and everything is listened to on tubes xept rap mainly to use bassdrivers. my fiance runs all powered monitors right now and she listens to all her music on some audio technica cans lol
  17. I really wouldnt worry too much. unless your soaking them in gallons of it. spraying the room or bombing it wont harm them.
  18. I have a stack of pro ashley bbe art dod sitting on the floor and honestly comparing them to my marantz or even technics or teac i say try the cheapest priced one you can get your hands on. newer the better unless you service the inner slides. as they age the slides get static. they all work pretty well
  19. I noticed when you switched to the mcintosh xr5 in your 2ch and thought it was interesting. xr5's are sweet 4 ways. In time those 8month old tubes will get better than aged wine. Other than running tubes on somthing with a 15" driver i cant think of nothing better to burn them with some mc xr5's. And with you running a solid state powered bassdriver with it your efffin rocking. All systems are different and i believe you got your 2ch nailed. I run rap/r&b and play movies on my theater and rock everything else out on my tubes
  20. Congrats! Glad to hear the crites homeland empire is growing
  21. there are theories i have read about tubes and actually may be true stating the life of vacuum tubes and their timeline with quality of sound. for example if the tube has 1000 hours of life in it the 400-600 hour range can result in better tone than that in the first several hundred after break in and there after the 600 mark. I have to say at the 20minute mark of warming the tubes up i also notice a sweet spot when sound becomes very detailed and open. im about 4 years into this tube thing here and seems to be similar in the use of about 15 different tube amps iv owned. hope im on track with your statement
  22. is the open house at the museum? God bless you and mrs.K
  23. I agree cables are a tuning aspect of a system. high gauge and gold plated are my choice. large power cables yield better results as well. anything 10ft for over $100 is too much. even at $100 thats after everything is bought and running so ya love buying new stuff for a radio heck sweet $50 cables why not. $200 for 10ft is not needed. some 6ft for $4k lol i havnt had them but have ran some pairs that cost over $400 and their no better
