  1. i think Mahogany, Rosewood, and figured Birds-eyed Maple, Ebony. I've always liked cane grills with the red collared woods
  2. Up for sale is my personal SL-1200 Mk2 that was used only in the home. This unit is in very, very good condition. It comes with the dustcover and all lights and switches work perfectly. No noticeable scratches or imperfections. The dustcover does have a little light scuffing and does not come with hinges. $400 The headshell and cartridge are sold separately. The cartridge is an audiophile cartridge, not a dj cartridge. It is a Shure M97xE and is mounted in a Technics headshell. It only has 4-5 hours of use. $50
  3. Up for sale is a Klipsch RW-10d sub in good overall condition. I've thoroughly tested this sub and it is excellent working order and it's performance has surprised. Easily outperforming my expectations. Cosmetically, the unit is in good condition. You can see a nick in the vinyl near the back bottom corner. The amp and driver are in excellent condition. Shipping will likely be around $40 give or take $5.
  4. I have a RW-10D that I would sell you if interested.
  5. Saw these on CL not long ago.
  6. HGS18's tend to sell for $800-$1000 depending on condition and if version I or II. Sometimes just over $1k.
  7. Up for sale is a Heritage subwoofer in black. It is in excellent working condition and good cosmetic condition. I see no dents or dings. There are some scuffs or small scratches and I touched up a couple of spots. The drivers and surrounds are in excellent condition. The sub also comes with carpet spikes! Buyer pays shipping.
  8. You have an issue with either a coil or spark plug. You have a misfire on one of your cylinders. Has the check engine light come on? If so, take it to the parts store and have them run the code. It will tell you which cylinder it is. You can then start by replacing the coil and or plug. How many miles do you have on it? It may be a could time to just replace all. I used to take mine in to the shop to have done, but it really isn't that difficult except for a couple of coils in the very back.
  9. Depending on where you are located, I would consider $100 shipped. Here are the last two that sold on Ebay: May 6 $130 + $27.65 shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/DENON-POA-800-2-channel-Power-amplifier-/172188281530?hash=item281738aaba:g:QSgAAOSw~oFXJVgy April 30 $160 + $24.99 shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/DENON-POA-800-2-channel-Power-amplifier-/191855135283?hash=item2cab750a33:g:CwcAAOSwKfVXHOYV
  10. Up for sale are a used pair of Paradigm Reference Studio S-26 steel speaker stands. The stands are in good condition with the exception of a few scratches on the base. These stands are solid steel through out. These stands are approximately 26" tall.
  11. I use Velodyne subs and have loved them. They are servo-controlled units. So, they are very clean. I have two F-1500's in one room and an HGS-18II in another. The F series subs only have 300 watts, but do sound really good. You can pick them up for aroudn $300-$400 used. They are nearly 20+ years old. The HGS has 1000 watts and it slams! It's also an 18" sub and can be found for around $1k. What's your budget? There are a lot of subs to choose from.
  12. Up for sale is a used Denon Amplifier. This unit is in excellent working condition and good cosmetic condition. It does have some scratches on the cage and around the edges face plate. The unit is rated at 2 x 50 @ 8 ohms, 2 x 90 @ 4 ohms and 1 x 180 @ 4 ohms bridged.
  13. I remember seeing this event in previous years, but have never gone. How is it?

    Ebay Sales?

I sold on Ebay for 15+ years and probably over 5000+ items. I think my rating is in the mid 3000's. Starting 3-4 years ago they really put pressure on their sellers especially regarding accepting returns and offering same day shipping. Plus, you are at the mercy of the buyer. I can't tell you how many times someone said something didn't work, they returned it and it worked just fine. Now I'm out the shipping cost because they made you refund the cost of the item and shipping. When you are shipping speakers and subs, this can be $50-$100+ a pop. It seemed like I would have one of these a month. Plus, how can I offer same day shipping if I have to package up a 95lb sub. I'm sorry you will have to wait until the weekend before I have time to get it packaged up properly. I buy and sell a lot and I don't have the same velocity of sales that I used to, but I don't have any returns/charge-backs/damaged items anymore. I sell on a selected few forums and try to maintain open dialogue. The stress is gone and I don't want to strangle any dishonest buyers any longer.
  15. I couldn't believe the final minutes of the game last night when a highly depleted Mavericks team pulled a win out over the Thunder. Durant had one of his worst shooting nights. The Mavs missed two free throws that would have iced the game and a bucket by Adams just after the buzzer. Very entertaining game. I bet Durant goes for 40 on Thursday. GO MAVS!
  16. I've had a pair in my media room on for 6 or 7 years straight. They were already 10-15 years old. So, I don't know if the previous owners did the same. No issues. Now, I have a newer sub that has been plugged in for 15 or so years and has auto on/off. I guess unless you ware worried about power surges from storms, etc. there isn't any reason to. I've been told it is actually better than turning them off and on constantly.
  17. Good review! Enjoyed the comparison
  18. If I'm correct, the Pioneer is a Class D design which people say are not as musical. Whatever! The amps are based on B&O designs. I can't tell how they sound from anything else. Denon no longer manufactures there own receivers. I believe they are made by a 3rd party in China. They are still very good quality! Yamaha Aventage units are really nice and have received rave reviews. I own one and it performs great. I also own an older Yamaha and I notice no difference in sound quality between the two. I think you would be pleased with all the units. I think you need to go somewhere and mess around with the ergonomics to see which you prefer. I've owned all brands and other than one is extremely more powerful I can't hear much difference. I do notice the hiccups a unit will have and I will notice how easy it is to move through the menus.

Here is an excellent study that was done by Harman Kardon: https://www.harman.com/sites/default/files/white-paper/12/11/2015%20-%2006%3A12/files/multsubs.pdf
