  1. I have owned both the Heresy 1.5 and CWII at the same time. One thing I noticed was that the heresy seemed to have a slightly sweeter sound, but the CWII has way more bass. The Heresy is seriously lacking bass. Over all the CWII will run circles around a Heresy any day. I still have my CWII's and listen to them at my work Monday-Friday 9-5.. I really enjoy the CWII's with solid state class A amplification. There is just something about a Heresy that just sounds good to my ears.. I like them both, just differently.
  2. Deang, in YOUR opinion, what are the sonic differences between the K55 with spring loaded terminals and the K55 with soldered terminals. It seems like you are familiar with both of them. What is the difference in sound and the differences in the measurements?
  3. Forum member Justin Weber has build the type D before and shared his opinion here. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/158843-crites-faital-2way-with-alk-ap12-500/ Bossman
  4. Found one for about $200.. a bit over budget, but if you really need one here it is. Hope this helps. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KLIPSCH-K-400-Mid-Range-HORN-from-La-Scala-speaker-/272095259071?hash=item3f5a2429bf:g:nPUAAOSwwPhWitum
  5. Whats your budget? I'll keep my eyes open.
  6. Just sold a pair of KG4's with new capacitors that I installed about 3 months to ago Duchampagne. A good choice for the tube amp he will be using. Duchampagne, please keep us updated as to how you like them and how well they pair with the Fisher 400 Tube amp.
  7. I prefer 2 channel listening as opposed to 2.1 . I have heard some of the new Klipsch bookshelf speakers. The RB-61's sound good. The SB-2 not nearly as good in my opinion. Either pair would require a subwoofer if you want any real bass in your music. You can easily get away without having to use a subwoofer with either the KG4's, KG3's or KG3.2's. Hope this helps.
  8. I would recommend a good sub woofer with a lot of power and can go low to the mid 30's. That will bring the Khorns to life.
  9. I'm in the LA area and have a few pair for sale.. KG4's, KG3's, and Forte II's.. Let me know..
  10. yes, you will need a sub with the heresys if you want bass. The heresys sound good but have no bass (as designed by Wilbur).

    What I Got Today!

Today I got a music studio. Cleared some room above my shop office at work, and turned it into a studio. Has a tube microphone, interphase, KG3 speakers used as monitors for now, NAD power amp and few other goodies I had laying around.
  12. Nice finish work on the cabinets.. Are the caps in the crossovers original as well? I thought the first thing people on this forum do is replace the caps in their speakers.
  13. I agree with mattSER. Those are KG 2's. The two-way KG Series KG 2 bookshelf loudspeaker was first introduced in 1982 and manufactured by Klipsch until 1992.
  14. Hi Leon, welcome to the forum. If the seller stated that they were in good working order, it is possible that maybe a wire came disconnected from the top tweeter horn driver during shipping. Simply remove the horn and make sure the 2 wires are connected. Also at the same time, if you have a multimeter now would be a good time to measure to ohms of the drivers. And yes there are replacement diaphragms just in case yours are both bad. I hope this helps. I am sure you will also be getting a slew of advise from other forum members in no time.
  15. You can measure the ohms of the midrange driver with a multimeter since it is easily accessible.
  16. DIY high efficient speakers 100db and above do well.
  17. Nice work on the white finish, looks good.

    What I Got Today!

today i got 2 3.5mm splitters and 2 rca splitters... both from the bay for about a buck each shipped from china.
  19. What kind of chair are you sitting in? I've found that there are a lot of not-very-supportive chairs that are sold as "HT chairs" that don't work very well to support the upper body and that are adjustable. Chris I wasn't sitting on a chair, but rather a sectional sofa... Very awkward looking up and to the right.. I dont know how to describe the sofa... it was just a regular sectional sofa that seats about 6 people... has cushions for back support, but not too much for the neck... I have a similar sofa in my living room, but the center of my 60 inch tv is eye level. It provides a very comfortable tv or movie watching experience. Jason
  20. As far as Heresys on the floor... I never really liked the sound of heresys on the floor. My favorite position for Heresys has been: Midrange horn at ear level, with a good amount of toe in. They can look a bit awkward being high off the floor, but it really lets you all the details in music. Again, just my opinion.
  21. TV's that are placed higher than eye level tend to give me a stiff neck in a matter of minutes. The higher the tv is, the quicker and worse the stiff neck will be. It multiplies greatly when the tv is high AND to the right or left side of the seating position. Try looking up and to the side for more than minutes while watching tv, makes my neck hurt just thinking about it.. This is just my experience and opinion only.
  22. Comparing Bose to Klipsch is like comparing apples to lettuce.
  23. Thank you Pzannucci for the very helpful information. And Thank You Dave for your very helpful information as well. Very much appreciated.
