  1. Don't have any chairs in my garage, so if I'm going to hang out here listening to music, might as well play with some tools.
  2. Klipsch Pro speakers are made with plywood, for people who are more likely to drop or allow rain on their speakers.
  3. I have listened to many of their newest line arrays at concert performances. The bands sound really good. Their goal is full, even coverage for the entire large audience. Much more technology than most audio enthusiasts would need at home. I decided the Blue horn does not match my decor, so I'm keeping the cheap horns and painted them copper, to go with my cherry stained Zebrawood.
  4. I would be happy to try and compare those Blue horns to my good sounding cheap eBay horns, but the top left corner of the Blue one looks really expensive.
  5. Your Klipschorns have added a totally new dimension to your listening experience.
  6. If needed, gaskets can be cut from some thick paper or 1/8" foam rubber sheet.
  7. The horn brackets are on the road to their supporting role. Do you have enough gaskets?
  8. I use one for a home theater set-up. It sounds good and I really like the MCACC Pro room correction. Only possible negative comment is the supplied remote control can't be used to control different brand Blu-ray players, DVDs, etc. but if you use a universal remote, or more than the one remote, that doesn't matter.
  9. No problem at all. I was not aware of the mounting hole offset when you sent them to me. I could have easily had my buddy with a milling machine modify them, but never got around to it, so I have just been storing them for you.
  10. Emile, I still have the brackets you gave me. Have not use them yet because the mounting hole offset did not match my non-Klipsch flange. I can drill them out in the future, but for now they are available if you need the brackets for your new 510s.
  11. Listening to your high quality music with the Klipschorns is a great start.
  12. Measuring will show a lot of good information about the entire audio spectrum in the listening space.
  13. No offense intended by my comment above, to all the excellent musicians who use amplifiers. I listen to amplified live music on a frequent basis and I love it as much as I enjoy the purity of sound from an acoustic symphony orchestra.
  14. In other words, measurements can help you determine if there are standing waves causing a reduction in low frequency performance.
  15. Acoustic instrument musicians will be tuned into the true tones. The others will be hearing most of their music through overdriven studio monitor speakers fed by SS power amps that might not be of audiophile quality.
  16. 31 inches of space will only allow you to cram them into those corners, but then the side opening of the bass bin facing the cabinets would be blocked. If you really want Klipschorns, you could attach a rigid partition between the front corner of the bookcase cabinets and the side walls of the room, creating what would be called a "false corner". The empty space behind could be used for storage of things that don't rattle.
  17. Nitrogen gas also does not promote oxidation that may occur with oxygen rich atmospheric air pumped into the tires.
  18. The thread is titled Advice for Beginners.... All the different opinions are interesting, and your personal experience and knowledge is much appreciated.
  19. How do your new compression drivers sound?
  20. One of the "features" my friend wanted to experience is AIRPLAY, using his I-Phone as the portable source. Some beginners just want their pleasant sounding music to be convenient.
  21. It is a TX-NR 1007. I want to use my Denon out there, but my friend who borrowed that AVR to try its "features" loves the sound and seems to want to keep it.
  22. I am powering my garage Klipschorns with an Onkyo TX-NR AVR because I want a network receiver out there for streaming internet music. It sounds great.
