  1. Klipschorns can be good for the room!
  2. Why do you recommend this for the woofer cabinets sitting on a concrete floor?
  3. @Wardsweb, Beautiful work on the La Scalas. @twistedcrankcammer had bought one of the woofers from me last year and was very enthusiastic about arranging the speaker system for his daughter. It was a pleasure to deal with him. RIP Rog.
  4. My favorite Klipschorns (one speaker of the pair shown in picture). 100% original drivers and AA networks.
  5. The above post is just my contribution to the humor on this thread. No affiliation to the speakers, the owner or the ad. If I was shopping and within driving distance, I would check them out, because they can probably be easily fixed.
  6. Yes dear, I will get rid of the big speakers, now that you have an Alexa pod on the kitchen counter. I will even add this decorative picture frame to make them more attractive, because I want to recoup my original cost. Later; Nobody has replied to the ad. Must be the slow economy. Guess I will just keep them. 😁
  7. @AndyGrandy, When low pass filtered at 400Hz, it is normal for a speaker to sound very un-natural. As far as examining your specific conditions, using an audio spectrum analyzer (free app on a smart phone or laptop?) can show you if you need some EQ. The main question is, how does it sound when playing full range music?
  8. @Westerml, Yes the Axi-2050 are really good. It seems that they are almost always sold-out, but your K1132's should be easy to live with while you wait. 😄
  9. Using Nyloc nuts to secure a compression driver to a horn could be problematic during removal, as the Nyloc will grip the studs and the studs will unscrew from the driver, causing an awkward condition at the tight wrenching space around the horn flange, especially the K-402. Yes, you could use Loctite thread locker on the studs into the driver, but that is all a bit excessive for the application.
  10. I also had to flip my mounting brackets and redrill them because the Celestion Axi-2050 drivers are much wider than the brackets.
  11. Put your two mounting brackets face to face (mirror image) and then scribe your marks for the new hole locations.
  12. Most of the music arriving at your ears should have been coming from the live orchestra on the stage (and the wall reflections). A properly installed and adjusted sound reinforcement system should not overwhelm the "live" sound. Sometimes it depends a lot on your seating location in the concert hall. Everyone should feel free to mount their home speakers wherever we want and/or can. Most people are just normally comfortable with their speakers at seated ear level.
  13. I enjoyed reading about your listening impressions and satisfaction with the sound of your Heritage Jubilee.
  14. A large subwoofer with a powerful amplifier will be a very good addition to your application.
  15. @badmotofing3r, I have hiked hundreds of miles of trails in the Grand Tetons, the Wind River Mountains range and around Yellowstone Nat. Park. The state of Wyoming is very beautiful.
  16. If the top hat section of a Klipschorn is lifted and re-positioned, that will open a gap in the bass horn path, affecting performance. I see that @tragusa3 returned his to normal, but anyone who might toe-out or toe-in their K-horn top hats should make a wood panel to complete the top seal.
  17. I always enjoy seeing pictures that helps one to understand the beautiful design of the trihedral folded horn.
