    Letgo Klipsch

Very nice, looks just like mine! I love the cherry veneer, one of my favorites.
  2. Yes, I suspect eventually the majority of Heritage owner's will have switched over to this new driver as it seems superior to the older Klipsch models, I just wonder when, if ever Klipsch will start offering them in their new speakers?
  3. Once you get through the one side the other will be a piece of cake as you'll know exactly what to expect. Hang in there and good luck!
  4. When I replaced the standard 55v's in my HIP's with the new A-55g's there was a clear difference between them. The old drivers sounded muffled in comparison but they did come out of a 30 year old pair of pro speakers so not certain they weren't over-driven or damaged along the way.
  5. If you have the room for them and a subwoofer or 8 to go with them I'd say jump on it at that price. You will not get the nearly bass response out of a Belle as the RF 7's, not even close, but the clarity and detail you get from these 3-way Heritage speakers might surprise you if you haven't heard them before. At this price you should be able to flip them and maybe make a few bucks (at least pay for your gas and time) if you decide they're not for you so this would be a good chance to check them out risk free.
  6. Is this yours? In my experience, if a seller claims an item is "untested" or was "working fine about 6 months ago before put in storage" that usually means that there's something wrong with it so buyer beware.
  7. I understand the concept and have experimented around myself several times in several rooms with several different speakers and sub combinations. I personally like the sound from a full range tower with a sub only handling the parts below the capabilities of the main speakers, I just think it sounds better to me that way, at least for music anyway. Of course everybody's taste and personal situations are going to vary tremendously, that's why I encourage everyone to experiment around and see what works best for their own situation.
  8. So you're saying listening to levels upwards of 85db leads to amplifier strain and audible distortion? Even the most conservative sensitivity ratings for the RF-7's would put you under 1 watt of amplifier power at that listening level. I understand subs make things better when set up properly and an absolute must for movies but at such low listening levels I'm just not sure I could justify hacking the nuts off my mains, you might as well run monitors which would excel in that set up like my HIP's.
  9. I would think that your situation is kind of unique in that you have 8 massive subwoofers. Try listening to just the RF-7's by themselves in 2 channel, first at full range and then crossed over at 80hz, there is a huge difference is sound.
  10. Nice score! The 64ii is a fantastic center speaker.
  11. I just picked up a pair of Cherry RF-7 II's and they are truly BEAUTIFUL speakers. They really are furniture grade speakers that sound as good as they look, I think you'd be very happy with that set.
  12. I'm a firm believer in running speakers full range unless you plan on really playing your system so loud that they could distort or cause damage. If you plan on listening that loud then set the crossovers just above their rated output as a starting point and go from there. Heresy FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 50Hz-17kHz(+-)5dB RF 7 II FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 30Hz-24KHz ± 3dB
  13. They are totally different speakers and each have their qualities. $2k Canadian is roughly $1500 US? for a clean pair of Belles is an excellent deal and will not last long at that price I imagine so don't think about it too long.

    Disapointed

Damn dude, were they completely destroyed??
  15. "WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE POST THIS TO THE KLIPSCH FORUM, OF WHICH I AM NOT A MEMBER? FEEL FREE TO INCLUDE MY PHONE NUMBER." David call or text Noon-Midnight (704) 564-0602 There you go..
  16. If you're talking about your RF-7 II's I'd run them full range, they're rated down to 30hz. If you plan on really cranking them up and utilizing the Palladium sub then I'd inch it up a little, maybe 40-50hz? I know some people like to crossover all of their speakers at 80hz but I like the full sound of big speakers personally. I'd play around with it and see what sounds good to you.

    Cherry RF7IIs

Well I picked these up yesterday and got them set up in my room, I'll post pictures later today. First impression right off the bat was that they are not as clear or detailed as my HIP's but didn't seem to notice as much after a little listening time, maybe I'm just getting use to them? I'll post pictures and listening impressions after awhile.
  18. Yes, and based on your reviews I almost bought a pair recently but they had issues. I sure wish I could have tried a pair out in my room but I just picked up a pair of RF-7 II's and already have RF-5's so don't see trying out the 63's any time soon. Of course if the right deal came along...
  19. Yes, it would be very nice if Klipsch would introduce a RF-5 II, I just love my RF-5's. I think the RF-5 might be the best bang for your buck in the Reference line that I have heard to date when considering sound quality, size, weight and cost. I've only heard the RF-63 recently but agree the cabinet size / shape just seems outrageous for a speaker with 6 1/2" woofers. The guy running the demo had some pretty junky looking home made tube amp driving them with his phone as a source so I really didn't know what to make of the sound quality.

He has the KLF-30's in Florida for $550 if I remember correctly? Have you listed them on eBay? You can list items for local pick up only, just add 10% for seller's fees and ask for cash on pick up in your listing. Lots of good quality pictures from all sides of both speakers will help as well.
  21. I've used a BASH 300 in an SW-12 before and it worked perfect and sounded better than before. http://www.parts-express.com/bash-300s-digital-subwoofer-plate-amplifier-300w-rms--300-750 If you watch eBay they pop up on sale some times, believe I got a new pair a while ago for $114 each IIRC.
  22. Very nice! I should have mine set up by tomorrow night, can't wait to hear them!
  23. Congrats on the new speakers! Yes, every speaker seems to have their own strengths and weaknesses. Bass response will vary greatly based on positioning so you might take some time and play around with them a bit to get the best sound out of them. The closer to corners you have them will increase the bass as well as how close or far away from the back wall. I preferred mine about 18" from the side walls and about 10" off the back wall toed in slightly.

    Cherry RF7IIs

No, just happened to check eBay at the right time I guess, was surprised they were local to me. I've been talking with another local seller who has a pair of original RF-7's in maple but he's asking $1000 and I don't really care for the finish. I would have really liked to have a pair in walnut but the cherry finish looks very nice as well. Can't wait to get home and pick these up, if they sound as good or better than my RF-5's they'll be keepers for sure.
