Just got back to Ohio from my future retirement home in Sunset Beach, NC. Lots and lots of utility trucks heading south. Even saw caravans of ambulances and tree removal trucks. Saw one convoy with massive track driven post hole diggers. Looks like plans were in place a long time ago to get all that gear moving. I hope everyone in Florence's path has a safe place to ride this out. I have friends in Sunset Beach who are staying put. No reasoning with them. Say a prayer with me that Sunday evening finds them safe and sound. I expect the wind, water, and flying debris will do a number on my house. Have insurance but can’t imagine how long it will take to rebuild.

I’d pull the horns and remove the drivers. Pretty sure they a accessible from the front. The horns are plastic and the driver mounts can break. Cover them well. You do not want the speakers to get wet. That will do bad things to the MDF. Good luck! Road trips to fetch new speakers are the best!

Well, that’s quite a line up of amplifiers. I had La Scalas in a large room with the VRDs. Didn’t think they paired well. Never tried the single driver route. Maybe a bit more power will make that sing. You'll never know unless you try. I have a push pull CJ amp in it’s box that I’ve tried just for a day or two. The 60 wpc was too much for my room. I’m saving it for later thinking my Khorns might like it in a bigger room. Right now my Khorns are the largest front left and rights in a home theater one could imagine. Poor things. They so want to play in my stereo room. You’re absolutely correct in matching the system to the room. Cincy
