  1. From a newsletter I subscribe to from the Isle of Man TT website: "The SG6 will feature the V4 Aprilia CRT motor with Norton’s own V4 engine being raced in 2018. Heavily based on the TT racer geometry wise, the V4 SS road bike is almost identical to the SG6 TT bike in terms of frame stiffness, weight distribution and chassis." 2. I have the ALK ES5800 that I believe cross over at 5800HZ. I bought the AA from DeanG. It's been a while but I thought he referred to them as Super AA. I might be misremembering that. I bought the K55V dual phase plug drivers from DeanG at the same time. Bob Crites thought the A55G would be an improvement over the dual phase plug K55V as testing showed a 1% THD vs a 1.5% THD (A55 vs K55). Guess I'll find out in a few days. Mark
  3. Welcome to the forum. I'm sure someone will chime in regarding going rates for a pair of Cornwalls. Mark
  4. I have a set of Super AA's and a set of ALK ENG steep slope XO's to try. The drivers I'm comparing them with are K55V with dual phase plugs. Mark
  5. Just ordered a set yesterday. Bob said they are flying off the shelves. Looking forward to hearing them for myself. Mark
  6. Norton readies superbike for the 2017 Isle of Man TT Mark
  7. Love watching the TT on TV. Those folks can ride. Too bad I can't understand a word the interviewees say. Especially Guy Martin. Mark
  8. Thanks James, I'll keep that in mind..... Mark
  9. Shh.. I don't want my wallet to know this.... Mark
  10. These are sweet!! Someone grab them, NOW!! Best deal on La Scalas I've seen in quite some time. Mark
  11. Thank goodness I don't have a proper room for these. Mark
  12. Welcome to the forum. Nice set up! Mark
  13. I guess this was directed at me? If so, I'll bow out of this discussion. Way too many D to A and A to D then back to D to A conversions to contemplate. Mark
  14. That's interesting. Never heard of an analog digital input. Learn something new everyday around here. Mark
  15. PeteVoxx, If the Sonos is connected to the pre/pro via the analog inputs, then it's the Sonos doing the digital to analog conversion (DAC). It would have to be a digital connection (USB, coaxial, TOSLINK) to the pre/pro for it to do the DAC function. Anyway, glad you like what you're hearing. Mark
  16. I think you meant a la carte. Not sure. Maybe. Where is a source for K-510's in the USA? Buying with the drivers is a bit of a turn off. But I've spent money on dumber things.... Mark
  17. I sensing a run on K-510 horns.... Mark
  18. I agree that the La Scalas can expose the weak link(s) in an audio gear chain. It looks like PeteVoxx is using a digital music source, Sonos Connect through Deezer (had to look that up BTW) to the Marantz AV7005 pre/pro, out to the Emotiva XPA5 then ultimately to the LSIIs. Having been through this with my version one La Scalas, I'd start with what's converting the digital stream to analog, the DAC in the Marantz AV7005. Might even be the Sonos Connect doing the conversion depending on how it is connected to the Marantz. Directly or wirelessly? I'd recommend a good seperate DAC. Schiit, Benchmark (I have a Benchmark DAC3L) or any of the others. The La Scalas then have a music stream that is converted at a much higher net bit resolution. I'm not talking about the potential resolution of the original FLAC file. I'm talking about the actual output resolution of the DAC. This will provide a greater potential for better sound. Next thing I'd do, is not run stereo music sources through a pre/pro designed for home theater sound reproduction. Either get a DAC that acts as a preamp (I tried this but decided on a separate preamp with BASS management features) or a separate preamp. After these changes have been implemented, I'd look at the amps. Amps reproduce the signal fed them. They don't magically make the source better. Garbage in, garbage out. Mark
  19. Welcome to the forum! Klipsch is the closest thing to two wheels you'll find in your living room! 2009 FLTR, Mark
  20. Glad you got this sorted. Have you considered a stereo preamp with a built in home theater bypass function? Emotiva and Parasound are two that come to mind. Run your music sources to the stereo preamp and the sound for the mains from your processor to the preamp. When you want home theater the stereo preamp is on Home Theater Bypass mode. When you want music, just run the source through the stereo preamp. You'll need a separate amp to drive the front left/right speakers and a processor with front main preamp outputs. Marantz units have them, I'm sure others do as well. HTH, Mark
  21. That, is the best post of 2016! Happy New Year! Mark
  22. Nailed it. That's exactly what I was thinking. When I first "stumbled upon" Klipsch speakers I went for the Forte IIs because I thought the "specs" made them the the best choice. A year later I restored a set of La Scala Industrials and was dumbfounded. Live music reproduced effortlessly at any volume. I was hooked. My advice would be to listen to the large Heritage speakers before spending your money. Mark
  23. Aaron, Thanks for sharing your experience of buying Klipschorns. To many of us it's just a dream. The speakers look gorgeous and I'm sure they sound wonderful. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Mark PS. I wouldn't sweat the serial number thing. You're going to enjoy these speakers for a long long time.
  24. Nice Dave! Now let's see some Khorn pics. Mark
