  1. Thank you all for your kind words. It really was a big deal for me. When I was pledgeing my allegiance, I started to get choked-up toward the end (yeh I am a bad a** with feelings) :-) Even the great response You all gave to this thread gets to me. I was thinking I would get a few thumbs-up. Thanks again.... To the couple of members that wanted to know what kind of shop I have. My wife and I own a auto repair shop. I specialize in Honda/Acura cars. It's just me and the wife no other mechanics. Millcreekmotorworks.com If you go to my profile there is a link there Take care all.... Mark.....
  2. Those KP362's are bad a** I own 4 of them. ..........Michael if you were closer I would grab this for sure :-) Good luck ...... Mark....
  3. So today I became a U.S. Citizen. My wife and I closed the shop for the day. We went downtown, I took my Citizenship test and got sworn in. It was a long day but well worth it. My parents immigrated from England in 1968, they drug me with em. I was 5 years old at the time. I have a vague memory of being at the U.S. embassy yelling" I don't want a visa, I don't want a visa". lol lol That was a long time ago. A lot of people think that even though I served in the U.S. Army and married a U.S. Citizen that would make me a Citizen. Not so. But that's OK cuz, I took my test and passed. I raised my right hand and pledged my allegiance to this country. Oh yea it was a good day to become an American :-)
  4. I have fixed a few pushed in dust caps with a vacuume, gotta be careful :-)
  5. I used to run after parts from your dad's store. Those were the days... We both know that Simmon's charges too much for parts. I fixed a Passat a couple years ago, and I priced parts online. I went into Simmons with those prices and was surprised that they actually came down a little. Normally, they charge the MSRP for them. BTW, the clutch is out on my son's 2010 Accord. I will be looking into doing that this week. Not sure if I'm gonna shell out the $$$$$'s for Simmon's to do it. I've never done a Honda, but I have done an AWD Subaru a couple times. Can't be too different as they are both Japanese. hey mustange guy have fun pulling that trans, they are a pain. It's just a lot of stuff to take off. Both V-6 and 4 cylinder, you gotta drop the sub-frame. Both 4 and 6 cyl have a book time of about 9 hours.A few months ago I did a clutch on a Acura TL type S, it was on my lift for 2 days. It was a pain.... I remember back in the day, I could do a clutch on an old Civic in less than an hour. Those were the good ole days :-) Yeh most shops are about $100 bucks a hour. My shop is at $98 bucks a hour if pay with credit-card. If you pay with cash or check I will do %10 off labor, so would be $88 an hour. Any how good luck with the clutch..... Mark....
  6. Redpepperracing. It is a fourm for old Honda CRX's. 1st gen-1984-1987 I have a 1987 CRX Si. Knee deep in a resto......

  9. if you can't like yourselt......you can't love yourself.....
  10. NICE :-) That was a drive! did you do the trip with anyone? My wife comes with me on all the stuff I buy: audio gear, cars, car parts, shop equipment. She loves all my junk :-)
  11. $3700 really isn't that much for a tool that you depend on as a professional(?). Do you have emissions checks in MD and if so what are the conditions for a fail? BTW, I'm looking at $23k for an Agilent Spectrum analyzer. yes we have emissions in MD. Ya go to the emissions station, they connect to the OBD port. If the car has any "pending" codes or has not run all the monitor tests it will not pass. No $3700 bucks is not alot for the scan tool I got. It does a whole lot for the money. If I had went with a Snap-On scanner it would have been close to $10K. I am a one man shop. I have friends that are shop owners and they own many scanners 5+. No one scanner will do all. We all have to spend money to make money. Some might spend $100K+ in school or $100k+ in tools, it does depend on your profession. But for my little world the scanner I got does just fine.
  12. Welcome to the world of a auto tech. I just dropped $3700 hundred bucks on my new scanner, and a tool to do "tpms". I have been working on Honda's since 1986 so my shop does mainly Honda/Acura. I was looking at the OEM Honda scanner but that would of cost me over 4k plus I would need to buy a laptop that was about 2k. If I was to go that route it would only work on the Honda/Acura line of cars. My shop also does other makes but mainly the asian imports. No European cars allowed in my shop. I think the OEM's have come along way since 1997 when OBII came into the scene. Most pro-level scanners will allow to run tests, get into all the modules( ABS, SRS, ect, ect) My new scanner does all this and it will allow me to get on the internet, get onto this forum and write this....oh yea..... :-)
  13. There was a set of rf-7's around the DC area not that long ago. They were on craigs list, and I think he is a fourm member. Good luck Mark....

  15. The older you get the faster the years seem to go by.Hope you had a good day :-)
  16. I want no parts of that. I don't like to climb, but I like to fly..... When I was in the Army I was a crew chief on a helicopter and loved flying in them. One weekend a bunch of us went rock climbing, I got up about 1/4 way I could not do any more. I climbed back down and drank beer, and waited for my friends. They didn't ragg me to bad :-)
  17. They look NICE, I like em. Do I see Carver amp? Maybe a 1.5? And some Polks? I got one of those Dayton titanics. I got the 15" incher with the 1000 watt amp. It does a good job :-) Take care Mark....
  18. My wife found our LaScala's in the paper some 23 years ago. She showed me the ad, later that day we got em. She loves our audio gear. I can tell ya if those were within 150 miles they would be mine. One of our first dates was to the junk yard to get some parts for my old truk. I knew she was the one for me. Take her with ya :-)
  19. Yea love the Floyd. Saw Waters many years ago. Never saw the Floyd. There is a Pink Floyd cover band, Several Species. They are fantastic. They do a lot of East Coast shows. They are out of Baltimore.
