  1. Just make a MAHL k400 horn! Come on, you can do it!
  2. HWL.means they are Heresy Walnut Lacquer. The lacquer was not a typical model, so hopefully they are in good condition still. Post pics!
  3. Do both speakers sound the same (muddy, etc)? The crossovers probably need to have the capacitors replaced. If you can solder, you can buy the caps and do it yourself. If not, you can send out the crossovers to have the caps replaced. Look into Crites Speakers for crossover service. You could buy just caps from them, you can contact JEM Performance Audio for Klipsch approved caps, or you can buy whatever brand you want from places like Parts Express. Good luck, stick around, post pictures, ask questions, etc
  4. You should really order 2 of these so your speakers will match.

    Dac

You could always put them on top of the cabinets
  6. Yea, this thing is beautiful to look at, beautiful sounding, and can throw your back out with ease.
  7. Testing the waters on selling my Pioneer SX-1980 vintage monster receiver. This receiver was fully professionally serviced by a local audio service company. The technician benchmarked the receiver at around 310 watts per channel! The bottom panel is not original, but a local machine shop laser cut a panel for me that was designed off of a template that someone made for me from audio karma. The lamps were replaced with LEDs. The only issue is the Speaker C connectors are frozen shut. I was hoping for a local deal, considering the size and weight. I'm guessing shipping would cost $200 ish considering I would need to go nuts building a shipping container. I am asking $8,000 or best offer for forum members.
  8. Did you ever announce what the dream speakers are that you are getting? Good luck with the sales
  9. Is this a tweeter? If so, you can replace the diaphragms of the tweeters with titanium tweeter diaphragms. You can buy them from Crites Speakers. What did this come out of?
  10. You will most likely not get an official answer on the forum. The forum is made up of mostly Klipsch customers and fans. Very few Klipsch employees visit/read the forum.
  11. These belong to my buddy, so I am affiliated with the seller. I saw and heard these last week. They sound really good. https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/ele/d/stoughton-vintage-frazier-speakers-rare/7397193679.html
  12. Free Guy was very good, great comedy, and good story.
  13. Klipsch KG4.2 speakers in oak oil finish. As long as they are in good cosmetic and functional condition, they are worth between $200-500 ish also depends on location. It's a 2 way speaker, which means there's only 2 electric parts making noise. The tweeter (horn part) makes highs frequencies, and the bass woofer (top circle). The bottom circle is actually a passive radiator, not a woofer, which produces bass from the air pressures inside the cabinet from the bass woofer moving. They are a very good sounding model speaker. Good luck to you, try them out, you may not want to let them get away from you.
  14. I did, and it made a huge difference. If something was coming overhead front to back, with only 2 atmos speakers, it was a noticeable stop in sound. When I added 2 more atmos speakers, it helped the overhead sound continue
  15. If they are in nice shape, that's a very good deal. Try the home theater stuff, but please try the khorns on a dedicated stereo setup! I think that will put a big smile on your face.
  16. I do believe the driver just screws onto the horn
  17. Remove the midrange horns from both and swap them. Does the problem follow the driver, or does it stay with the speaker? If it follows the driver, it's a driver issue, if it stays with the speaker, it's a crossover issue.
  18. The original 3 speakers are sold. I have a pair left, I can reach out to you if and when I decide to sell the last pair. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
