  1. Did I miss this? What driver or you planning to use?
  2. There is only one good time to put it in, and that is before you slam it shut. My concern is that if you look closely at the labyrinth pattern, each section taper out and gets larger and each turn is subsequently larger in volume. Thus the idea of folding a horn. If you add this foam, you reduce this expanding volume at each turn. May be an issue, maybe not. Just one man's opinion.
  3. didn't use any either. I did see a photo using the liner but it was after I had done mine. I dont think it was in the original plans.
  4. Just try to behave yourself! I don't want this forum shut down by the higher ups. I need this venue to stay up to date on pandemics and such. Speaker guys have all the correct information. I also need cut and paste answers to whatever question I may have. My computer doesn't do the google so I need this service too. Occasionally, I do have a speaker related question or story to tell as well.
  5. All accessible vertical and horizontal seams were sealed with the Loctite adhesive caulk before the top was added. By putting a continuous bead of the adhesive on the entire maze and exterior boards prior to laying the top piece on, I in essence sealed them off as well (to the best I could) Just playing with the cards I was dealt and doing the best I could come up with. Without Richie's rubber arms, I couldn't figure out a better solution. You got one? Monday (february) is right around the corner, hang in there.
  6. I forgot about dry January. Bless his heart. Bet its rough on him to see reality for 30 straight days. Monday's gunna be rough on us as he will thinks he's funny again. It's so sad.
  7. oh, you were trying to be funny!?!?!? don't
  8. I pretty much did what Neil said above. The outside edge of my top plate was dadoed so I knew it was squared up. The internal "labyrinth" panels were slightly recessed from the outside panels so when the top was laid on, they were all flush. I used dead weight to apply down pressure knowing it could not slide around with the perimeter secured in the dados. For good measure, I counter sunk a couple screws in the middle. Doubt I needed them but did anyway. I was doing duratex, so did not see it as an issue.
  9. I used Locktite sealant on all of my seams. Just figured, "why not"!
  10. agreed! That appears to be the CT120 which to my ears is a huge upgrade over K77. The CT125, I consider an update. The x-over is a different approach with a lower crossover point for the mid/tweeter. A move Klipsch has done as well since leaving the K77. To me, it depends on what it replaced. My 4500's replaced an AB xover in a pair of Belles, that was an upgrade. If moving from AA to A4500, just a slightly different approach without catering to the tweeter. More of an update. Either way, nice speakers. Very nice actually.
  11. Oh, when you put it that way, it doesn't sound creepy. Nah, still creepy.
  12. I've even had the riffraff contact me at my place of employment! And I don't use my real name on line, or state where I work..... Now that's creepy.
  13. Thanks. Great transaction again!! Works like a dream.
  14. Sorry to hear this. Bob helped me out several times. Talked me out of recapping an AB x over one time, good advice. He will be missed.
  15. Nope! I like the handles. They might have been added after they dropped one on the front corner. $2000 is high for here but low for what I have been seeing on ebay (asking price not actual selling price) Cedar Point is a nice town. (Only been there once, but....)
  16. Somebody hold my beer while I stand and applaud! Thanks dtel for all you do which is more than I would. Your approach should be sufficient. It's exhausting watching the s show sometimes. I cant imagine being the referee. A good bunch of guys for the most part.
  17. I'm afraid their friendship might come to blows! Nobody wants to see that!
  18. Just an innocent bystander, sitting here eating popcorn watching you two slug it out. Just needed clarification. Carry on (without me)!! Thanks
  19. reminds me of the toll booth in Blazing Saddles.
  20. Did he ask you to hold his beer while he turned it up? It is customary right before blowing a woofer &/or diaphragm>
  21. Oddly, I have had each and every condition you mention in your post from the rattle back of the M to the V that tested great, sounded off, new diaphram and sings beautifully again. I am confident in the AA with the 55M as I have had that configuration for four or five years in a pair of LS that sound great to anyone that has heard them. I don't tinker nearly as much as you so a little disappointed that I have kept up with the problems. You need to try harder.
  22. Not too stray too far off topic, but what is the correct crossover to use if you have K55M? Dont say AL cuz I gave mine away to another member, who gave them away to someone else, who I believe burned them. I do have an extra AB laying around!
  23. I am in the same camp. AA xovers with K55M and no issues or complaints. What is the problem exactly? Guaranteed that the improvement was drastic when I went from AL to AA but I had recapped the AA prior to install and that may have been most of the improvement or at least a part.
