As Islander mentioned, size. Any studio I have been in or worked in (did a fair bit of radio and voice over work in the past), has had space limitations. That being the case, accurate, smaller sized near field speakers facing the mixing board were utilized. One of the reasons the legendary BBC LS3/5 series speakers were originally developed. I suppose a very large studio could make good use of a modern Jubilee.

I suppose they could, more a matter of bragging rights than a line that would be much of a revenue generator.

I don't think it is actually that large of a market. There are only so many studios and so many people who want these types of speakers for home use.

Actually the Klipsch indoor/outdoor series are probably your best solution. They come with mounting brackets and sound great at low volumes. They are quite commonly used up here in stores in the West Edmonton Mall. I have seen them in many restaurants and pubs as well.

Hard to believe it is already night seven, I hate to see things come to a conclusion tomorrow. After a couple weird covid years, we hosted a few dinners and bevie/snack nights. Company coming tomorrow for another kick at the can with snack platters, fresh latkes, knishes and festive beverages. Back to work and reality on Tuesday. Nice selection. I'm Jewish so I wouldn't call myself in anyway a connoisseur of Christmas music, but I do quite like a lot of it -especially the jazz. I have had various a copies of the Vince Guaraldi Trio Charlie Brown Christmas over the years. I have always enjoyed it and play it annually for my own enjoyment as well as when we have Christian friends over during the Christmas season.

I have the remastered CD version of Kind of Blue; I'm going to listen for this tomorrow. Up until now I haven't noticed it.

In general I've always had a preference for brunettes, particularly olive skinned brunettes.

I have also recently discovered Sirius XM online. I have had a sub for my Jeep for ages, but until recently they charged extra to stream. Little Steven's underground Garage has been getting more play recently. You can adjust the bit rate which makes a big difference.

Going to try this again tomorrow. First listening today has me favouring the Fortes. I'm listening with my Meze 99 Classics running through a Dragonfly Red. This is of course shades of degree - everyone of these speakers are insanely good and I would be thrilled to own any of them. Addition. Went to the fridge, poured a pint of Guinness and gave it another go. I do prefer the Forte IV, no doubt about it. Seems the most balanced to these ears. The Heresy sounded nice and crisp but seems to artificially push the vocals too far forward giving them an echo like sound to me. The Lascala is somewhat similar but not as far forward. Perhaps it is the material, who knows - but I could see fatigue coming my with them over time. Forte just seemed to have the most balanced and natural overall sound. I have been considering a pair of them or a set of Cornwalls when I retire ( five years or less). Would like to be able to compare those two back to back at some point.

We listen to Jazz FM out of Toronto most weekends, Great channel. As well I bought a subscription for a streaming service called Radio.com. $70 for the year, it has several sub stations inside it, rock, jazz etc, and each of those break down into about 20 different genres.

They have had a terrible situation down there. I quite enjoy Victoria, nice city with some great pubs. I like to pop into the Bard and Banker when I'm in town.

Some friends of mine have gone this route to access American streaming and video services that are limited in Canada (CRTC Canadian content regulations). Time for me to try it.

We prefer the olive oil Hellmanns as well.

Great thread, I haven't had Miracle Whip since I lived at home. My mother was keen on it. Going to try some as an experiment. We usually use the olive oil Hellmans. I have not seen Duke's for sale in Canada, could be around but I've not ran into it anywhere. On a similar note to Jason str, I went way back to my childhood and picked up some Marmite a couple weeks ago. Used to have it when we were kids. My father and paternal grandparents were Brits who immigrated to Canada in the 50s. Very popular with Brits and expats. There is an Australian version called Vegemite. One taste took me back and I'm surprised it slipped out of my life for 40 years. My wife is still on the fence. One of those tastes that most either love or hate.
