What on earth did they do to it?

I should image there are countless turkey and ham dinners cooking away across the land. I hope they all turn out well and everyone has a great afternoon and evening.
-
My personal favourite. Will play it tomorrow.

Thank you kindly. The little statue thing is a novelty toy type thing called a Mensch on a Bench. It was put out a few years ago as a joke response to the Elf on Shelf phenomenon. It surprised everybody and ended up selling like hot cakes - and still does beleive it or not. It was a gag gift from a guy at work. The wife has named him Morty.

Night six candle lighting. Spent last evening preparing a brisket for tonight, the last night of Hanukkah. Have several people coming for dinner to wrap up the holiday.

Off the top of my head, Simple Minds, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Devo, Bauhas, Billy Idol, the B52s.

Glad to see the Cars getting their due, with any luck this will be the beginning of nominations for other deserving punk and new wave bands.

Like most speakers, placement is usually the key to getting the most out of them and your room.

Cloudy here tonight. If things clear tomorrow I’ll head down to the lake to check it out.

Jumped the gun on the photo. My wife’s first night gift is another crystal dreidel for her small collection. Up to three now.

Well we did our decorating such as it is yesterday and this afternoon. Cindy just lit the menorah as it is now officially the first night of Hanukkah. Sipping on a few festive beverages and will then begin making a batch of date honey and then on to some serious latke frying. Happy Hanukkah to my fellow Jews and Merry Christmas to all my Christian friends.

RF-82 IIs were a bit bright but I fixed it....

They look pretty damn good. That colour will work well with any wooden furniture you add to the room down the road. -

The Three Things That Suck Most About the Beatles

Always liked them and was raised with them in the background. Perhaps it is an old school Canadian thing, but back in the 60s when I was a boy our culture was much closer tied to Britain than to the USA as it is today. Most of us still had relations there and travel, trade culture etc was much closer. Guys like me are getting older and becoming a minority now. Pub culture etc is still a cornerstone as is Her Majesty’s New Years broadcast etc. Canada is a totally different country these days - not for the better in my opinion but that is a whole other discussion. -
Klipsch Forte III vs RF-7 II Audio Demo Comparison
YK Thom replied to Youthman's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Just re-watched and listened to it through my system. Your room looks great on a 60” TV by the way. Funny enough my wife’s take away from the video is that she would like to get a similar carpet lol. I lean slightly towards the RF7s in that room (and my own). Unlike what I heard through my headphones, the mids on the Forte seem a little recessed. Razor close though, I would be very pleased with either set. -
Klipsch Forte III vs RF-7 II Audio Demo Comparison

Indeed. I would love to hear them both with Jazz a genre I always thought that Klipsch speakers excelled with. Something about hearing horns through horns just works. -
Klipsch Forte III vs RF-7 II Audio Demo Comparison

You have a real knack for these videos. The indicator arrows are a great touch. I listened last night and was leaning towards the 7s, this morning I’m leaning towards the Fortes. Fence sitting at its finest. Going to run it through my system - with the aid of the Apple TV IPad mirroring feature. I’m pretty impressed with both actually. The mids seem to have a little more depth on the Fortes, the bass seems tighter with the 7s although the tweeter seems a little sharper. Having a pair of each in the house is an enviable position to find ones self. -

I have enjoyed your presentations and have been looking forward to this one. Unfortunately (at the moment), when I follow the link I get a video not available message. -
I would run with a single. Your system sounds spectacular, too bad you aren’t in my neck of the woods, I think I would thoroughly enjoy having a few pops at your place!

I live up north so you would think it would be quiet but we live downtown so there are always sirens and such. one kilometre out of town you are in the bush and it is dead quiet. I always enjoy it during a heavy snowfall, damps everything down nicely.

Very well done and well presented. Kudos. Very much looking forward to the comparison with the RF 7 IIs. Had my heart set on a pair of those but was unable to find a good deal in Canada.on the other hand I do fondly remember the Fortes that a friend owned back in the late 80s. Have always been partial to three ways.

It is a great centre.

Fantastic news. On a side note I am curious about the vertical bass bins. Were they the original idea or was it for something else?
