What comes to mind is how Klipschorns are known for bringing out the worst in systems. Sounds like the LS II's are able to do that now, too!

I'm backing the AL-3's as well. Mine are still original and sound fine to me. I have no issues with base, however my Yamaha amp has a continuos loudness feature that let's me essentially roll the low end with the volume. I'm very happy with my La Scala's and I think you will be too. Happy listening!

I had read about the Crites revisions on the Klipsch discussion board. None of the drivers have issues. I've never driven them to the clipping point. The grilles are a little wobbly, and need the velcro tabs re-adhered. Cabinet finish is faded, but there is minimal scratching. They're very presentable I think.
