  1. Which is why I pretend to like triple frappe latte with Macedonian cacao nibs and extra virgin milk from Irish bred cows raised on golden barley imported from a single Peruvian family estate. Top that with just a touch of artisan elite hand whipped cream froth with baristas schooled in Luxembourg and flown in by special arrangement with the Pope. At $42.85 (plus tip) for a venti per day, those Jubes are looking affordable.
  2. I agree with the last three posts. You’d be better off with a separate DAC. If you start with an inexpensive one you can always upgrade, which won’t be an option with the built-in DAC.
  3. Make offer. Dahlquist DQM-9 pair, with stands. Very very dusty. One of the stands may have a problem; I didn't look at it. No major cosmetic issues that I remember. These are in my folks basement, but they never got wet. Were 100% working in the 90's. Then they got foam rot like all of them did. Years ago I re-foamed the woofers, not sure how well I did since I never put the woofers back in. These are in Pacific, but I am willing to transport them anywhere in west county. This is your chance to have some DQM-9's with Magnat drivers and stands for very little money. I have no space for these at my house, and though it is a shame they got so dusty over the years, these could be great for someone's little project. Put the woofers (also dusty, but included) back in and you might have something nice. I never drove them hard. Make an offer, I'm easy. I just need to get these out of that house. Now that mom has passed away we are looking to sell the house. Also posted on AudioCircle GAS circle.
  4. Not to hijack a thread, (well, it is called Happy Birthday to....) You made me realize I missed the 50th anniversary of my Klipschorns, which are 68's. Not totally stock, though, so does that still count?
  5. Maybe you want to spend some energy telling these folks below it isn't a format. I'm not sure why you're hung up on this. I agree with you that people should just give it a fair shake and listen, me included, but it is confusing when multiple sources are calling it a format while you are saying it is not. What's the easiest and least expensive way for me to hear it for myself? https://www.cedia.net/insights/cedia-blog-detail/blog/2016/01/15/closeup-lifetime-achievement-award-recipient-robert-stuart https://www.cepro.com/article/meridian_on_new_mqa_lossless_audio_format_artist_authenticated/ http://www.realhd-audio.com/?p=3851 http://www.hifiplus.com/articles/mqa-its-about-time/ https://www.stereophile.com/content/ive-heard-future-streaming-meridians-mqa http://www.tonepublications.com/industry-news/the-latest-high-resolution-format-from-meridian-audio/ https://mytekdigital.com/hifi/mqa/ https://www.audiostream.com/content/mqa-love-or-hate-creator-bob-stuart-speaks-audiostream-podcast-no1

    Pork Rib rub

I think so too. I hope my city never ends up like this:

    Pork Rib rub

I’m a big fan of Meathead Goldwyn. His Memphis Dust rub recipe is great. You can find it here: https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/spice-rubs-and-pastes/meatheads-memphis-dust-rub-recipe His book called “Meathead” is really good. In it, (along with food scientist Dr. Greg Blonder) they tackle almost every aspect of cooking meat. I never do the mustard pre rub thing. It does nothing but make a mess, IMO.
  11. I received an AWESOME Klipsch Heritage brochure. Never seen one before, and believe it or not, I've asked Klipsch for one and never received it. This one is from @MetropolisLakeOutfitters! If I ever need new Klipsch gear, you know where I'm buying it!
  12. 11’x9’ w/Klipschorns here. They sound fantastic. Would they sound better in a bigger room? Probably, but considering that it is this or nothing at all, I’ll choose this.
  13. I’m not far from@MookieSTL. Same beautiful day here too. I spent much of the day painting the throat of my THTLP horn. Some day I’ll post photos. Also got the grill fired up to cook some turkey breasts. Boring but trying to eat better. I’m 20.x pounds down since November 1st; doctor is gonna freak. I hope my blood numbers are more in line with normal too. .
  14. There’s not much love for Kroenke in STL.
  15. You are correct on location and I think it is referred to as London Loft. More here: http://www.loftparty.org/about.html
  16. Nah, that can still happen on the top of the bass bin. The reason is to get the high SPL mids and highs above ear height. David Mancuso did this with 7 Klipschorns at his legendary parties. He additionally put vertical plywood between the two so it looked like one tall speaker from the front. Nowhere to set anything that way, either. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thevinylfactory.com/features/klipsch-speakers-interview-the-loft-klipschorn/amp/
  17. Ok, so I have to speak up. I’ve been soldering for part of my job for more than 30 years. Never, ever drip solder on anything. CLEAN the iron, TIN the iron. CLEAN the work. MAKE a good mechanical connection. FLUX the work (if it dictates). CLEAN the iron. APPLY heat to the work. APPLY solder at the work/iron interface, The work should wick up the solder. REMOVE solder. REMOVE heat. DO NOT move the joint or attempt to work the solder with the iron. Use a quality solder and quality materials and an iron appropriately sized for the job. Maybe I should make some YouTube videos?
  18. This sounds right to me. I’m predicting success. You might consider switching to a purely mechanical dial lock once it is open (at least I think that should be an option).
