  1. I live in TX, and couple of years ago, a few high school students celebrating their graduation, or drunk, drove their car on and smashed each and every mail box on my street with a baseball bat, mine included. I caught them on my door bell camera, and the police officer came, made a a copy of the tape, and I filed a report. They were about to loose their scholarship, as it would have gone on their record. Their parents pleaded with me to drop the charges, however I insisted on teaching them a lesson for the future, so they winded up doing community time and working all summer to pay each and every mail box owner, the cost to repair or replace the mail boxes they have damaged, again mine included. At the end of the summer and after paying back, the charges were dropped. I hope they learned their lesson.
  2. Bump for an excellent fellow to deal with. He bought My Carver Black Beauties tube amps. Awesome to deal with.
  3. Ill be looking for your signature when they arrive,..!!
  4. I Love the look of those Special edition Forte III, but I could not justify the extra $$, just for the look. I am awaiting the Forte III in distressed oak finish to come in. My order went with the first batch of orders, per my dealer's statement,..I.wonder when it would arrive.
  5. Ordered a pair of Forte III in distressed oak finish through my klipsch dealer. I love my current Forte II's and I have the perfect place for the new pair. I can't wait !!
  6. My advise is that you get a good tube amp from the get go. You will thank yourself latter, and save money in the long run. Been there done that.
  7. Would they fit in the back of an F-150 (Short bed, super crew)?
  8. Check with pat_in_dfw, he has a pair of gorgeous La Scala's, he is the Dallas area. He is a forum member.
  9. Well I have been waiting on my new 2.0 setup to be complete, It is taking too long waiting on my speakers, and it's killing me, So far I have almost all my essential components ready, except for the main speakers (ordered 6 weeks ago) and the TT,...here's a pic of it, w/o the speakers,. My temporary set up includes the Heresy's III, filling in until the new speakers arrive,... The new speakers will be placed on the main wall, and the other stand would go as well as the TV, giving space for some wall sound treatment. I will keep my new Yamaha A-S2100, Yamaha CD-S2100, the Sonos connect, and will then add a T.T., and No subwoofer. The Heresy's, the Primaluna dialogue, and the Marantz CDP will be moved to another room. What would you be your choice of speakers for my new setup ?. I won't tell mine, but I'll post a new pic, once the new speakers are in place. PS: room: 14# 16# 9 feet.
  10. Punch Biopsy tools, I guess on the right, but incomplete. I've seen similar old tools before. The green tape at the bottom, indicates they used to be sterilized after each usage.
  11. Look at the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium , I use one with my Chorus II's' and it sounds real good. I hade same result when I tried it with my Cornwall's III too.
  12. Check out the Denon DCD 1520. I got one on eBay, works really well, awesome sound. I use it with my PrimaLuna Dialogue Integrated tube amp, with my Heresy's III, super clear and warm sound. I paid around 200 for it, very cleaned, serviced, and with a remote. there are a few on eBay, including the DCD 1560.
  13. I think the Yamaha is your safest bet. I do however own the Onkyo 9050, and I do like how it sounds. I can't comment on the sound of the Yamaha A-S500. I do have the Yamaha A-S1000 powering a pair of Klipsch Chorus II, and it has beautiful and powerful clear and detailed sound, in case you decide to stretch your budget a bit more it should be the best bet. .
  14. Ty Maynard for the input. It was an impulse buy. I have received them but still boxed up for now. I have a Primaluna Dialogue amp (using EL 34 's) that I really like, so I maybe ending up using it with the La Scala's. As you've mentioned with those Carver's, there would be a lot of wattage left on the table, as I have a medium size listening room ( ~ 14 # 18 ft.) and I tend to listen at medium to low volumes. As much as I like everything about them I may end up listing the Carvers or sale.
  15. Sorry folks, those babies are coming my way.
  16. Hello, I recently purchased a pair of those mono blocks, from Dan Laufman (Emotiva Owner) brand new, I am planning on using them in a dedicated listening room, with my La Scala II (Cherry) soon to arrive from Hope Arkansas, again,.... I was hoping for some advise for a tube pre-amplifier to go with this setup, from the much more knowledgeable then me forum members. I'll appreciate any input. Thanks.
