  1. And all this time I thought you were supposed to snort a line of Flooby dust to make the music sound good. Peace, Josh
  2. prodj101, I remember seeing a binding post adapter that had the flat spades on one side to attach to the screw type terminals. cables and connectors Part way down the page is the item below. 45-282G BANANA JACK-SPADE ADAPTER (2) When you click on it the connector is fig,9 in the picture that comes up. I don't know the size of the screws on the McIntosh so these might be too big. Peace, Josh
  3. So this is what he looks like, This is off of Kelly's bmw bavaria page. I've missed seeing his posts around here too. Although if I had the choice between posting here and working on a boat... Peace, Josh
  4. From the look on the faces of the family I think it is obvious that, 1. The gentleman is using a Cd player with a low quality dac. 2. Solid State amps of the grainy variety are in residence. 3. He needs better interconnects. 4. Those speakers are not Klipsch. Peace, Josh
  5. I got mine on ebay for $300.01 I saw a nice pair of heresy II a few months ago that had a buy it now of $325. Good deals come and go, you just have to be patient. Peace, Josh
  6. To me I'm a ripe age of 22. My heresy's are as old as I am. My jbl L-46 might be that old. Went surfing this morning and had a blast. I think I'll go again tomorrow. I only have class 2 days a week this month. I'm looking forward to spending many more birthdays listening to my klipsch and many years of perusing this forum. Peace, Josh
  7. Being the nerd that I am I took along my spl meter when I went and saw The Two Towers on opening night at downtown disney in orlando. The highest reading I got all night was 97dB. This was on the front row right inline with the THX certified subs. I can play my speakers louder then that on movies but I usually don't, unless I have friends over who have never experienced klipsch in a home theater. Then I will crank up the "asteroid chase" from attack of the clones and I just sit back and watch. Recently some buddies from school were over and after watching Jango Fett try and destroy Obi-Wan's jedi starfighter with those awesome sounding seismic charges one of my buddies remarked "watching a movie in the theater just doesn't really compare does it." Peace, Josh
  8. It looks like you have some nice stuff there. That great big huge tv is about 9 times the size of the tv I have. Not having a digital camera is no excuse for poor picture quality Seriously, I have had some wonderful results scanning prints made from pictures I took with my old Pentax spotmatic. Peace, Josh
  9. Tung oil doesn't really belong on top of anything with linseed oil. Linseed oil and tung oil are totaly different types of finish. If you use tung oil it will add a shine too the finish because it is no longer an "Oil" finish. Tung oil is much more like a lacquer finish and seals the wood off in a way that boiled linseed does not. Peace, Josh
  10. I think that there was an option to have the flat risers on them. My 1981 heresy's have this style of riser. Peace, Josh
  11. I posted a while back that I thought it was odd that the backs on my 1981 heresy's were only a 1/2" piece of plywood when the rest of the cabinet used 3/4". I ended up cutting a piece of 3/4" MDF the same size as the back of the heresy's and putting it on the outside of the existing back. I just used longer screws then the stock ones and sandwiched some weather stripping between the MDF and the plywood back. Overall I think that this helped to clean up the bass a little bit as before I did the mod the 1/2" back panel would resonate at high volumes. Now with what is essentially a 1.25" back piece there is not much extraneous resonance at all. Peace, Josh

I thought normally when a tube went purple or blue meant that it was "gassy", something to do with the tube ne longer being airtight. In anycase not a good thing. Peace, Josh
  15. Here is a picture of my sony turntable. Kinda blurry I know, but it's the only pic I've got right now. Peace, Josh

  18. The 65 watts that my yamaha puts out is plenty loud ony my heresy's which have the same sensitivity as the SF-2's. I run out of the house before the amp runs out of juice. Peace, Josh
  19. I would make sure none of your speakers are wired out of phase. Sometimes this can do funny things to frequency response depending on the size of the room. Peace, Josh
  20. Lol, That's funny. Peace, Josh
