  1. Good Advice. he is probably expecting a few grand 'because new Cornwalls cost $xxx' Best to pass on bad deals. The only thing that looka normal at all are the tweeters and who knows. The cabs are either clones or modified with new motorboards for the weird midrange horn.
  2. Yea, they are surprisingly good with a very good source.
  3. Check your speakers, need T = 8 ohm, M = 16 ohm and w = 4 ohm. Post some pick, factory speakerlabs are quite nice.
  4. Uhh, hook them up and decide for yourself. 😬 If they sound good to you then they are good, i. I hooked some KG 2.2's to my main system, well away from the walls and with a JL subwoofer, they actually sounded really good. You never know.
  5. My K Horns from the 80s had Monster wire connecting the top and bass bin, and zip cord inside. Audiophile approved cause in true Audiophile fashion, they cant figure out how to use a screwdriver.
  6. You can try putting a few zip ties on the wire.
  7. I don't know if they have improved it but HD sells a 12 ga zip cord in bulk that is notorious for turning green over time. Avoid at all costs. If you want cheap good wire, this Monorpice 12 ga in wall wire is the same price and good stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Access-Gauge-Conductor-Speaker/dp/B003L170C6 Actually cheaper on Amazon right now, but Monorpice will have a sale this month. 100' on Amazon is $51.
  8. I saw this, is it something special? I didn't really look it up.
  9. Wow, that Accuphase gear is absolutely beautiful. You will have a great setup. What are you doing with the E-480?
  10. There are a lot of La Scalas on US Audiomart for $3500 or less. $3500 seems really high to me.
  11. I'd like to see the layout of the bass horn extension. Is it just a simple port mod or a horn?
  12. Oh, you need one. I love mine. The Pendelton Westerly. I like to wear it, sit on my rug and admire my bowling pins and Folgers can. Looks like they don't make the original one anymore, colors are wrong. https://www.pendleton-usa.com/search/?q=westerly&lang=default.
  13. Nice room. Also like the rug, it ties the room together. I have the same rug. Do you have the appropriate sweater to enjoy the rug with?
  14. The JC-5 has lots of headroom which is what you want. Keep the gain down, that is fine. My desktop speakers use a 200 wpc amp with the gain turned down. Your Luxman is a low powered tube and and not really what you want with Chorus speakers. 10' x 15' should be fine with the Chorus. Set them up and see how you like them.
  15. Nice, Chorus are great speakers. Use your Parasound JC-5 with them. Oiled Walnut is beautiful. Very desirable finish.
  16. I was very tempted, actually glad to see it sold. Don't need another amp.
  17. I think this picture puts its size in perspective. The K Horn looks small next to them.
  18. I have seen his very favorable reviews for the Cornwall which he owns, Forte, Jubilee and a new small bookshelf which he loved, I think a RP600 or something like that. I don't really follow reviews but he must have reviewed others like the K Horn and Heresy. He is a big fan.
  19. Oh don't try to backtrack. Can't win. 😉 You say: 'Honey, you look really nice tonight' Her response: 'What do you mean, I look fat the rest of the time..."
  20. Wow, three negative comments on his review right away. You guys are impossible to please. He was gushing over these for the entire video and had nothing negative to say. What else did you expect him to do?
  21. Tinning is a nice feature, but probably not necessary in quality wire. I just made several jumpers from some 40 year old Kimber Cable and when I stripped the jackets, each strand looked nice a new. I have some old Monster cable from the 80s, same thing, held up really well. The Home Depot sold some monster looking wire in the 90s that was horrible, it would turn green and it was not cheap.
  22. I should follow up on this one. I now drink no sodas except for soda water and that is very occasionally if I have an upset stomach. I drink 1 1/2 cups of coffee every morning with one teaspoon of a mix of grass fed butter and virgin coconut oil. I also started drinking my coco in the afternoon with just a teaspoon of bakers coco and a little unsweetened almond milk. Next level, cut out bread and all processed carbs. I hate the general use of the word carbs because veggies are carbs. So refined carbs are the bad ones. I was eating a banana every day and some fruit, but our fruit has so much sugar and not much fiber so I am minimizing it. Also cutting back on the rice. Still lots of avocados, olive oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, nuts and fats in meat (I do go easy on the meat). Lots of green veggies and other veggies too. The results, I am never hungry and I eat more than I want to to keep weight on. I go from around 6:30 PM to 1:30 PM without eating every day. I do eat all of my calories, this is not a diet plan to lose weight. I always gained weight very easily but have been thin for decades by watching what I eat. No headaches from not eating, no up and down energy. I think that I am also sleeping better. Will have to wait and see. I want to go one day a week from 6:30 PM through the next day and then maybe 12:00 or 1:00 the following day day once a week (metabolic Mondays). Then add quarterly longer term fasts. Autophagy is the goal, not weight loss. Sounds crazy, but read David Sinclair's book. He is a self appointed expert who dropped out of high school, lives in a van, takes mushrooms every day, eats dirt and bugs and drinks his urine for health. 😁 You can read about him here: https://sinclair.hms.harvard.edu/people/david-sinclair His book is Lifespan. Maybe a new thread is in order.
