  1. NEED HELP, have this klipsch sub 10 subwoofer, Trynna get it to connect to my edifier R1280db. Dont have a receiver just a whole lotta RCA cables, Let me know! Also I'm on a PC I tried connecting it but it just comes out with no sub just the speakers make noise
  2. I have a R-112SW, it has been working fine until a while ago.. it has started turning off randomly. Sometimes it can stay on for hours, but sometimes it turns of after seconds of use.... So I figured I'd just change the plate amp, but I think I might need some help picking the right amp... My the sub is rated with 300w RMS with 600W peak if I'm not mistaken..? So what wattage for the amp am I looking at then...? I've found 2 different plate amps from Dayton Audio which as far as I can see will fit perfectly without any modification to the sub box itself atleast... The Dayton Audio SPA250DSP, the other one is primarily the same amp just with 500w (SPA500DSP) So my question is which one of these amps will work the best..?
  3. Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right place in the forum to ask technical question, please point me in the right direction if not.. I have a pair of "the fives" powered speakers alongside a "SPL100" subwoofer, the problem is that the speakers keeps freezing? The display doesn't respond to any commands, i can't even put it into bluetooth mode to see if there is a software update thats required. I can't find any firmware either... any help is welcome:)
  4. My Cinema 600 sound bar is connected via HDMI. LEDs had been working and I turned the LEDs off via the remote control. I had already connected to the sound bar using the Klipsch Connect app. The problem started when I tried to re-connect with the app and the volume cut out and the Bluetooth on my phone sent me a pairing request which failed. stating that the PIN was wrong. The volume also reset to zero. Now: The volume buttons for the sound bar and sub work on the remote. The buttons on the sound bar work. The LEDs will not turn on via the button on the remote. Cannot pair with Bluetooth by pressing the button on the remote. The app sees the Cinema 600 but, reports an error when I select "Setup". I uninstalled and reinstalled the Klipsch Connect app and tried a factory reset but, no change. The device is out of warranty. Any suggestions?
  5. I have a pair of R-15 pm speakers that hum wth any line or phono input. I returned a pair to the manufacturer and the new ones are doing the same thing. I just moved to a new place and am wondering if it could be the old wiring in the house? I plugged up smaller, cheaper speakers to my turntable and didn't have the issue. It's just my Klipsch speakers. Any suggestions?
  6. Reaching out for help from anyone in the community with knowledge, advice and expertise when installing a system in a commercial restaurant space. Writing this in a beginner-friendly tone because that is where I am now. I've been a lurker taking notes who has finally convinced a friend to splurge on a sound system that will be an exciting feature of his restaurant that I'm collaborating on. A high-efficiency horn-loaded system powered by SET tube amplifiers is the path I've chosen to approach this project. The restaurant's build is almost complete, with interior finishings currently being applied. I've attached images of the floor plan and sections of the space with coloured markings for the whereabouts of the D.J. booth and speaker placement proposal for anyone interested in size and layout (yellow: booth, pink: speakers). A key with materials used is also included - there isn't much leeway to apply acoustic treatment. Maybe pyramid foam within the waffle spacing of the concrete ceiling. I also feel like the large floor to ceiling windows and wall tiles would create a lot of reflections, especially with how I'm planning to orient the speakers. I have suggested adding thick drapes to help remedy this for the owners, and there would be a few carpet art pieces hung that help in absorption as well. I'm proposing 2 budget options: Option 1 / Big-Budget Features: 2-3x pairs of Klipsch Hersey IVs - suspended or mounted on walls/columns upside down with a tilt angle. The horns would point downwards at the customers and the woofer closer to the ceiling to create a similar low-end response when placed ordinarily in a floor-standing position. The speakers will either be suspended by eye bolts and fender washers hung from a concrete beam waffle structure or mounted on french cleats on the structure's columns. They will be powered by: 2-3x Decware Super Zen Triode Amplifier would love to pair the Decware tube amps with the HIVs, but I'm concerned if they have enough oomph to drive the speakers to volume when it's a busy day at the restaurant 1x Condesa Carmen in-house analogue D.J. rotary mixer 2x Technics SL-1200MK7 Turntables 1x DAC/node streamer - undecided [BLUESOUND NODE or the AUDIOPHONICS RASPDAC an option for this budget] (DAC connected through USB or wirelessly streamed via Spotify Connect - Streamed via an iPad through a lighting cable to USB adapter or wirelessly through Spotify Connect connected via a node, respectively (streaming via chrome-cast is not an option because of its inability of gapless playback)). I've also heard that the new YAMAHA RX receivers act as streamers for Spotify Connect and other applications. Possibility of an independent DAC Schiit Modi 3+ for better sound (as subjective as that is for the setup) 1x Receiver to route all the incoming signal sources to the designated amplifiers and speakers - Need help in this department. Option 2 / Small Budget differentials: 3-4x Klipsch RP-600M II - also considering fitting them upside down with a tilt angle. The horns point downwards at the customers and the woofer closer to the ceiling to create a similar low-end response when placed ordinarily in a floor-standing position. But the 600 IIs would be mounted on the walls/columns versus being suspended from the ceiling. 3-4x Reisong A10 - I heard great things & felt they'd be a good fit for the more budget friendlier option, but I'm concerned if they have enough oomph like the Decware Zen triodes to drive the speaker in a busy day 1x Vaira Instruments RD20 in-house analogue D.J. rotary mixer There are a few missing puzzle pieces in the system due to my lack of experience, and I was hoping that anyone could kindly assist me. Looking for a receiver that will take the 3 different sources (in-house D.J. mixer output, DAC-Streamer Spotify output & guest D.J.'s controller output) and send the output signal to all the amplifiers powering the speakers. Would home theatre A.V. receivers work? I've checked the backplate of most A.V. receiver products, and they all have 'surround', 'front', 'center' labels for the different speaker outputs. I'm worried about whether each pair of speakers would get other signals - which wouldn't work in my application. I've also done my best to map out how the sound system component network would work with a resident D.J. system in a booth, guest D.J. with an external mixer, and DAC for regular musical playlist programming when there's no D.J. performing. Would love to hear everyone's advice and thoughts on how I've designed the proposed system and mapped it out. I'm not sure if I've got the number of speakers right - it's tricky since where I'm located doesn't have proper HiFi audio dealers in the country - I can't test any components. The purchasing decision must be made based on faith and expertise. As you now learned, a lot would be riding on this This project aims to bring a hi-fi experience to a population and culture that is not exposed to it and be inclusive in presenting it the best way possible with the budgets at hand. Your input would be greatly appreciated! P.S. Any thoughts of anyone who had listened to the active Superwax mini by Pitt & Giblin from Australia compared to Hersey's or other speakers from the heritage line-up?
  7. Hi I am puzzled between the DENON AVR-X8500H VS AVR-X6700H. Which one should I choose. 1. Are both new models, is one new over the other ? 2. Does the 13 channel make a significant difference ? 3. Is 8500H discontinued, does that mean it’s not recommended to buy it ? appreciate all the response and help acoustic screen - 30feet by 16feet room LCR: KLIPSCH RP 8000 ceiling - Pro 180 RPC - 4pc side - RP 502S backside - RP 600M @billybob @inMotionGraphics @wvu80 @Ceptorman @Islander thank you so much Fermin
  8. I purchased R-41M bookshelf speakers last June and theyve been working as great channel speakers but recently stopped. They have a very loud crackling/static noise with audio being inaudible. Im not sure what to do, I changed the wires so i figure its not a connection issue, theyre connected through banana plugs to my Sony STR DH790 and not sure if what the issue is. I sent the reciever to Sony and they told me everything works fine on their end, but find it doubtful both speakers blew at the same time without any catalyst.. Any guidance?
  9. Just got the R-51PM today and connected it with my turntable (Denon 300f) through a phono connection. The speakers play the actual audio extremely quiet except for some very loud pops, but once the sound introduces base the speakers are popping like crazy, the record itself does not seem to be the problem and the speakers wont connect via Bluetooth so I have no way of making sure
  10. Hi there, I am setting up my 5.1.2 home theater my equipment includes. Klipsch Front RP 280f, Center Rp504C, Surround RP402S, and SPL120 woofer. With Denon X4700h My room dimensions are 19 feetx13 feetx 9 feet. I tried to caliberate the system through Audicy but sound is not good at all. Everything is suppressed. Bass is very dull and also high frequency are not well defined. Can someone help me that what crossover should I use ? And what eq setting should I adjust
  11. Hey y’all! I’ve had the fives for about 6 months or so and something about the natural oak just doesn’t look the best to me. I’d like to refinish these with a darker stain, but I just don’t know how to go about it. I know that refinishing veneer is challenging and I also don’t know how thin the veneer is on these. I know this isn’t that big of a deal, but if anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it. Thanks!
  12. I have a Onkyo Tx-nr686 i bought last year and i am currently running a old set of sony book shelf speakers and a center channel that are 100 watts and 8 ohms in a 5 speaker set up. I am looking to finally upgrade my speakers. I was hoping to be able to do tower speakers for the fronts and the bookshelf ones in the back with a new center channel. But i don't want to throw away money if my system isn't powerful enough to get the potential benefits. My question is what wattage and ohm ratting should i be looking for? Not looking to spend a fortune on the speakers but i have looked at the polk t series and monitor series 2 , the sony core series and the klipsch if i can find the right sale. Any help would be appropriated. Thank you in advance.
  13. Hello everyone so I ordered a set of Klipsch speakers in a package and the floor speakers have three terminals each and I do not know what to do with them. I have enclosed pictures of the system I bought and the receiver and the back of the floor standing speakers. If someone would be so kind to help tell me how to hook those speakers to the front when my receiver only has one front channel. I'm lost. Thanks so much and have a great day! P.S. The receiver picture isn't showing up but it's the Denon AVR-X2700H AVR-X2700H-1b_19102020.jpg.webp

  16. Hey! Newbie here. First of all, thank you for letting me join this awesome community. So I'm building a house, and in my basement my wife let me build my own Cinema/Sports room. I started to check out all Home Theater setups and Klipsch kept showing up. I'm really new to this, so I don't really have any idea what speakers to choose. But here goes: I'm looking for a 3000/3500$ setup, Including sound and Receiver. The setup should be a 5.1.2 or 5.2.2 (Should i stay with 1 subwoofer, or get one more?) The room is in the basement, so it has nice acustics, but I will still add some sound proof padding around the room, to get the extra cinema feeling. It's 4 meters X 4,5 meters (13 feet x 15 feet more or less). The FRONT speakers will be floor standing tall ones, and the REAR ones will be Bookcase ones. The ATMOS speakers have they're connections ready in the ceiling. Could anyone help me with a good setup? I checked some examples of RP6000f Setups and R41SA's for the Atmos, is that enough or is something like a RP610 better? Should i go lower as i might not need that much? What about the Subwoofers, is the SPL100 enough or do I need 2, or would you go lower? I'll leave a deisng of how the room should go. Sorry about meter system vs feet system, I'm european!
  17. UPDATE as of August 1, 2020 — WHAT'S WORKED SO FAR: I have replaced both crossovers, care of Bob Crites. Instant improvement, but still didn't sound right. Then I switched from the 4 ohm taps to the 8 ohm, which changed the sound utterly (see my June 27th post). I have just ordered some sound absorption panels for the ceiling (12 square feet, to start), and some Nicetown Sound Absorbing Curtains (the ones with inner felt lining). I'll report on the effectiveness of these after I install and test them. ___________________ [ORIGINAL POST:] I have been given a pair of 1976 Khorns by my father. I can tell that they will sound out of this world, especially (I hope) paired with my McIntosh 240 (also from dad, 45 years ago). But initially, upon setting them up, the high and possibly the middle frequencies are washy, messy, and shrill -- painful to hear (at least at loud-but-not-harmful volume). The Khorns are replacing my Heresies, which had none of these problems with the same configuration (same components and inputs). I've done a little reading on this forum, particularly here: and here: ...and these posts have helped me suspect a few issues with my set up. (Also, see pics.) My room is small: 15'x10', with a 7'-6" ceiling and four windows. No option to change rooms. ("SWMBO" and I have a small house, causing me almost to say No, thank you, to the offer of free Khorns. Then I slapped myself and said, Yes, thank you, O mighty father; I will make it work.) There are plenty of reflective surfaces: hardwood floor, plaster walls, windows, a few hanging framed (mix of glass and plexiglass) posters. There is hardly any unobstructed wall space. Can't help this, as this is my home office, and I work in it professionally (nowadays full-time). The Mc240 is right next to the right Khorn (with restricted options to move it). Next to the Mc240 is the tube preamp, a Counterpoint SA 3.1 (actually paid my own money for it, used). I don't understand any of the technical specifications that Chris A cites in his discussion on different amps with Khorns. I do understand what a reverb effect is. But details elude me: Is the Mc240 Class A or Class Z? High or low output impedance? Is its "first watt power" more than, less than, or equal to 1 watt?... If the "Com" speaker terminal on the Mc240 (manual says "Com" = Common) corresponds to the black Khorn terminal, then I got the polarities right. I am currently using the 4 ohm terminals, and haven't yet tried 8 or 16. As you can see in one of the photos, the left Khorn is currently cornered between a wall to the left, and a steam radiator to the right (you can see it peeking out). I will remedy this by removing the radiator. I also plan on sealing the Khorns into their corners with closed-cell foam. Funds are limited. High effectiveness-value-to-lowest-cost ratio needed. I would love some suggestions. My goals are modest. I'm already happy with the bass extension, and I can tell that if I remove the radiator, it will deepen, and I have faith that sealing the corners will tighten the bass. If I can eliminate the audible distortion and get as much detail as the Heresies gave, I will be ecstatic. I've read about remedies such as wrapping the upper horns in (something...?), and/or adding sound diffusing or absorbing panels in specific places, that can help clean up the sound, but I don't know what materials these remedies would involve. I'm handy with a screwdriver and wire strippers, but my skills end there. (I've dabbled with hammer and nails, and even used a staple gun once!) Good karma in advance to any who can give aid to this worthy cause.
  18. I’ve tried my hand at it twice and I am no good name your price I’m frustrated! This is what I’m going for. https://www.klipsch.com/products/cornwall-iii-special-edition
  19. Hello! I am trying to decide between buying a pair of klipsch forte 2 that the seller says have "recapped crossovers and updated tweeter diaphragms" for $800 or a pair of rogers studio 1s for $700 they both appear to be in fantastic condition littles scrapes but other than that they look great. Has anyone heard both speakers to help me decide?
  20. I have a set of (very not stock) K-Horns that I'd like to sell. I have a set of Heresy's that I'm converting to Claude's Super Heresy and think it's time to let their big brothers go to someone who will love them as I have. I'm hoping one of the community members here can help me understand what they are (model type, mod/abomination) and what I can do to make a proper sale. Big thanks to anyone who can help me sort this out. Pictures: Album here The cabinets aren't labelled, no sticker, and don't have binding posts built in. Does this mean they're speakerlab or maybe a custom build or is it possible that they're original k-horns? This is the most important question I have because I don't want to misrepresent something that I'm trying to sell. The crossovers are type AA The tweeters are the k-77, unmounted. The mids: Altec 511b horn, 808-8a driver Woofers: mismatched Electrovoice EV15, I replaced the other with a Crites 1526c The midhorn and drivers were replaced with an Altec Voice of the Theater combo 808-8a driver and 511b horn. Is this common? I have an extra set of k-55 mid drivers that I made some adapters for to fit on the horn. Should I probably sell with those on it instead? The grill cloth is worn out. Should I redo it before selling? Am I overthinking this? Last question: if I want them to sell in the next few months, how much should I try to get for them? I'm willing to deliver if that makes a difference.
  21. I have the R-15PM Monitor Speakers and was wondering where can I get a replacement for the remote control. Any help would be appreciated!
  22. Hey. I bought some second hand 2.1 promedia speakers (without subwoofer) and I have no idea how to power them on. I will attach pictures to help explain. Essentially it comes with a control pod which has a green headphone cable, and another unknown cable that kind of looks like an s link. There were then two sets of monster cables that each plug into the back of a satellite speaker respectively. I have no idea how to a) attach the two speakers together and b) turn them on. Please help. Is the subwoofer necessary to turn on the satellites? Pics: https://imgur.com/a/mSHOuRH
  23. I have 2xRP280 and a R-115SW sub connected to a Denon AVRX6300H for about a year and half. today, the left speaker next to sub started buzzing, then cut out and then there was a horrible smell. the smells is coming from the speaker next to the sub or sub. it smells horrible and is quite terrifying. What just happened? is my equipment ok? what can i do to resolve? should i be concerned of fire and safety?
  24. I am new to the HiFi audio scene and have been looking for an amp/preamp combo or integrated amp to replace my old Pioneer VSX-D508 reciever for a 2 channel Klipsch Heresy 1 setup (music only, no movies). I am looking for something under $250 if possible. I have had the Nobsound MS-10D MKII recommended, but have seen very mixed opinions on that, and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with one. I also am not sure whether to try to go with tube amplifiers or solid state amps. Thanks in advance!
  25. Hello everyone, Just joined the klipsch community and bought the Klipsch Reference RSB-6 210-Watt Sound Bar with 6.5" Wireless Subwoofer. It sounds fantastic and I was wondering if there is any way I can add more external speakers to connect to it for a more surround sound experience. Thanks in advance,
