this looks like a deal for Klipsch cinema stacks

Recommended Posts

What a bummer, I hate it when I see adds like this.  These type of adds are why I get addicted to searching CL as wee hours in the night. Then I realize I don't have any cash.  Not that great of a deal, but there is this one.

This is how i came across my killer deal, it was on the Bay, but jumping back and fourth between the CL and the Bay it was just a matter of time. i did not have the cash handy either, so i figured if i really wated these critters i found, i first contacted the seller and told him they ARE mine, Balls i know, i then proceed to place ads for my Scalas at a grand per stack, i placed the adds in the direction of LA where i had to pick up the new set up, sold both in less than 24hrs, and being in LA with an empty truck, i picked up my new system.....makes me sweat just thinking about it now, because id feel really bad folding on a commitment.

Another toy to look at:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-of-EAW-KF850-EF-3-way-used-but-Working-with-NL8-input-and-thru-/281416764974?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4185bf0e2e#ht_123wt_1121

The EAW K850 is similar in concept the the Klipsch 600 system, a horn-loaded 15 that can go to 90hz, a horn-loaded 10 with a phase plug that covers 250hz~1.6Khz, and a 2" compression driver on top. Any good sub will be fine below 90hz.

Price varies with condition and the HF driver. EAW offered anything from a TAD to a JBL, RCF, etc. on top.

I like the size of those things but my sound is hard to beat for the money.

Coming in at just under 500Lbs per stack, this is by far the biggest i will ever go.

what's retail on these?

about 2k$

That would be for a pair verses each.  (though I thought they were more like $1,200 apiece (??) )

It would also include the tray for it to sit on and the driver on the back.  Basically plug & play ready, not just the horn lens.

Why is part of the ad in Arabic???

  • do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers

Geez, how the heck do you know that?  :o   And why would someone post that in Arabic?

+++

Question:  The ad said the system was installed 10 years ago for $200,000.  Did it really cost that much to install?

There is a local classified ad consisting of the following:

one pair - 4x15' LF drivers, MF horn, HF horn 3amps and 2 Dx38 Processors. $3200.

and,

one pair - 2x15' LF drivers, MF horn, HF horn 3amps and 2 Dx38 Processors. $2800

any thoughts on the quality / value of this equipment?

Just saw this.  OH MY! is right on the money.  Would be nice if it would work out for someone.

The 415-402-510 combo is in the top 5 big time two channel systems that I have listened to.  I have heard a few big ones.....

The plus is that this system can utilize passive networks without .....an active processor.... :emotion-14:

"wife commented on missing the crisp Horn sound so i bought back my K400s"

If you have KF850 tops, what driver is on the HF?

If you have about any of the drivers EAW offered (except the SSD 3301) you can drop the crossover on the HF down to around 800hz and get a lot more of a 'crisp horn sound' (if that's what you want).
