Josh810
So guys I need your help, I have 2 r-112sw and debating trading them in for a pair of the 115sw or purchasing 2 more 12s and either doing double stacked corner loaded or place 4 12s on a mantle that is elevated 1' off the ground, I love bass.. mattSER
I'd trade em for dual 115s
Matthews
I'd buy two more 112's
Josh810
I'd buy two more 112'sFor my configuration what would be the best sounding placement stacked or 4 side by side
Mike M
I've got dual 115sw's so I suggest going with dual 15s. 4 12's will give you a much more even response the 12's just don't dig low enough for me imo.
Josh810
What I'm concerned with is double stacking or having the subs elevated 4 in a row they will be a ft off the ground,
JohnA
I say run 4 112s. Better coverage in the room and probably lower excursion/distortion because 4-12s have more piston area than 2-15s. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=120210

Would you recommend double stacked or in a row ? Will having the subs elevated effect any sound quality performance? Good looking article I will defiantly read it when I'm off of work https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=120210
CECAA850
if you put one sub in the center of each of the 4 walls you'll have the best coverage possible. One in each corner will give you almost as good coverage as one centered on the wall but give you a little more output.

Budman
what do you mean by trading them in i think the members answers will be 50/50 whats your gut telling you to do you say you love bass then you might as well get the 15's and then 2 more 15's one thing we do agree on is we love to spend other peoples money Edited March 31, 2016 by Budman
Paducah Home Theater
The 15's are going to dig noticeably deeper. If that doesn't matter, then go with the 12's. If super low extension doesn't matter, you can't spread them out, and you just want sheer output, then get a KPT-684.

Scrappydue
Another vote for the 15's. I had a 10 and a 12 of the R-1xx models and I didn't care too much for either of them.

Good looking article I will defiantly read it when I'm off of work https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=120210 Placing the subs near room boundaries increases the low bass output, almost 3 dB per surface. On the floor against a wall will be better.
derrickdj1
The subs would at least neat to be 2 ft. off the ground to have a major effect on the vertical room modes.
