2point1
This thing is a beast. I wonder how it sounds compared to a old Nakamichi PA-7 http://hear-sae.com/products/sae-2hp-d/
wvu80
Beast mode is right! A two horsepower power amp? I wonder if that front display is analog, or a digital LCD representation of analog? Edited June 2, 2016 by wvu80

JL Sargent
or a digital LCD representation of analog? I'm thinking its just that, a digital representation. Looks pretty cool but not 20K cool imho.
Wardsweb
Beast mode is right! A two horsepower power amp? I wonder if that front display is analog, or a digital LCD representation of analog? The display is digital. The user may choose what they want to display.

richieb
About time an amplifier built to handle the power hungry needs of my KHorns. And at only 20K for the stereo I surely hope monoblocks are soon available. That should provide both adequate power And channel separation for KHorns.
teaman
I just read about that amp in the back pages on Stereophile or one of those mags. Sounds amazing. I will keep it in mind if I win the lottery!

2point1
It's $160 per lb. As for those captivating meters: Unlike analog VU meters—which, at best, provide a rough indication of power output—the ones used in the 2HP-D are more akin to the RPM needles used in Ferraris. “The new virtual meters are amazing,” Kessler says. “They have no mass, so we can use two pointers to accurately track and report instantaneous power and average power at the same time.” Talk about mesmeriz- ing. Watch for the first review of the 2HP-D in our sister publication Stereophile, slated for early summer.Read more at http://www.soundandvision.com/content/sae-2hp-d-power-amplifier#EuQsbZCvKXveOWPd.99 Edited June 2, 2016 by 2point1
