Rivernuggets
You see this yet? Wonder how it will compare to the BDP-103. They'll probably have the two tiers like always, the regular player and the audiophile. https://www.oppodigital.com/uhd/
CHASLS2
I hope it works better than my OPPO83 that has been sent back to OPPO for repair once and needs to go back for the same thing. I plan to do away with all 4 of my BD players and go to the new UHD players as i plan on maybe getting a OLED next year if they get cheaper and better than what they are today. Rivernuggets
Oppo's recent players (93, 95, 103, 105) are fairly bullet proof. Looking forward to their newest offerings.
gary p
I have an 83 and a 105. Love them both. Probably going to get the latest version too. I haven't had any issues and I think their products are quality.
Schu
Been waiting for the uhd version... plus I require region free playback. I never stepped to the 103/105 because it want what I wanted from Oppo even though I know it does serve a market niche. I don't need dac capablities... jwc
Oppo stuff has been good to me x 2. Reliable. However, their website is down! BWAAAAAA

The Xbox will support HDR and 4K for $300. If you're using HDMI connections then it's just a transport. Why pay more to read information from a disk? Moderators dtel Posted September 28, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2016 Have a 4K Tv but no plans anytime soon to get the player, well until there is more 4K media, by then the price should be lower, I hope. Never tried Oppo but rarely hear any complaints, it might be the one when time comes long ?
mark1101
Heck, the television networks are not even up to 1080P yet. It's only the movies you can buy and stream. I don't do too much of that right now. I am still waiting to see a football game or a race in 1080P.
JL Sargent
What Mark said. I'm not sure UHD isn't going the way of 3D..........dead.

Get an OTA antenna to see football in 1080p. You'll definitely notice a difference over 1080i.
billybobg
If 1080p is a monster jump over 1080i, then I'd be truly amazed. Watching F1 and football I'm totally satisfied. I watched the Singapore F1 race under the lights and it was very sharp. I can see individual grass blades on the football field. I really don't see any noticeable difference between a 1080p movie and the HD cable channels. YMMV, but it's all good to me.
CECAA850
Not a monster jump but absolutely noticeable to even the casual observers (wife and friends). We have a 60" display and sit about 10 ft away. Smaller displays may not be as noticeable.

Well Dish network degrades it to because their HD receivers have choices for 480i, 720P and 1080i, No 1080P.
JL Sargent
Last time I checked, the best OTA around here was 720P. Which is a good quality video on 70" TV and reasonably streamable. 1080P is almost impossible for us to stream. I couldn't image streaming 4K around here. I wonder if that's even possible with a DSL connection?
