Well yes a plinth is the best option for audiophile home use 

As you know I love making plinths 

 

But in a radio station or studio that is not an option - don’t forget it is a broadcast turntable 

However some custom one off plinths were made for the BBC

And that was not!

 

There was one similar build for sale i think in France same set up.. but not the price being asked.

As you can see on this 948 compared to the one from robbery fi . there's no plaque claiming its a BBC 948!
