Changed the hinges today on my cabinet, to lift off hinges, not to walk around it. i would say great gear is producing a stunning sound image 1
MicroMara
I could not wait today have the Shelter 501 III but built, is already another league than the MC 11, mighty valuable and noble seeming TecSpecs : Principle: MC pickup Needle carrier: aluminum coated bor needle grind: naked elliptical, 8×18 µm output voltage (1 kHz, 5 cm/s): 0.5 mV needle compliance: 9 µm/mN Weight : 8.1 g Recommended termination impedance : 100 Ohm Recommended tracking force: 14-20 mN Recommended effective tonearm mass: medium to very heavy (10 g to 25 g) The Trichrod phono stage is set as follows : Load 1.1 nF 100 Ohm / Gain 0.4 > 0.6 mV = 63 dB gain . I would not want to miss the Trichord Dino MK III together with PSU Dino + anymore , a fantasique phono pre ! The aluminum-coated bor cantilever on which the naked and elyptically grind diamond sits is barely visible. Unbelievable how you can manufacture something so fine mechanical nowadays. The coil also makes a superb impression on me. Well then, Dr Feickert's Protractor for the 3-dimensional cart adjustment tool was again present and the adjustment went quickly from my hand. The Shelter plays exceptionally dynamically alive, neutral with a hint of a golden sheen without discoloring. It gives voices a wonderful presence, actively draws you into the action on stage. The reproduction of voices is incredibly close to the lips of the vocal performance, no detail, no matter how fine, is left out. I don't know where to go from here, the sound quality of the Shelter 501 III is so convincing that I want to continue listening. It literally pulls the music out of the groove and I had completely missed to use the Clearaudio Vinyl Break In Record , but I´m going to use it tomorrow as well. I also do not want to compare it with the Yamaha MC 11, a great vintage MC in any case a fun cartridge as reported , high value for little bucks ! The Shelter is in a different league !

KROCK
They're hard to match w/my arm. You might wanna look into them. My MRB, plays uncolored, I can only imagine how that'll sound. By the time I get the cart, then order a head shell, I'm looking @ another $2500 USD. Don't forget, I'm on a FIXED ICOME. The 6 looks good also.🤫 2
