KROCK
Greetings everyone! I've been lurking the forum for years, I finally joined last month. I just purchased 1982 Corwalls. Waiting on Al to build a pair of Universal cross overs, being their 36 years old. I'm going to keep the networks outside the box. I can use some suggestions on what wire & gauge to feed the drivers via 6 gang terminal block (GOLD). My receiver is a Fisher 800 C fully restored. ricktate
I vote for this www.knukonceptz.com/home-theater/speaker-wire/kord-speaker-wire/sp/kord-ultra-flex-12-gauge-speaker-wire-100/
jimjimbo
Since you're talking terminal block to drivers, and, since the networks will be outside the cabinet, 12 is quite large for that application. 16 would be fine. http://www.knukonceptz.com/home-theater/speaker-wire/kord-speaker-wire/sp/kord-ultra-flex-16-gauge-speaker-wire/
KROCK
Hello Rick, 12gauge for all 3 drivers? I'm familiar with that site, ordered from them when building speaker wire for AV setup. Edited February 25, 2018 by KROCK
KROCK
Thanks Gents. I'm still open to anyone's $.02.

Use Oxygen Free Copper (OFC). I use Monoprice 12 awg for standard speaker runs. Get extra, there is no such thing as too much speaker wire. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=2789 If you want to use 12 awg it won't hurt anything. It will be a little more difficult to work with and I can't think of any audible or technical improvement. I saw where Knu was also suggested, that is also an excellent wire. As long as it is a quality wire and manufacturer, use whichever you are comfortable with.
KROCK
I have about 30 + feet left of the 12 gauge Monoprice left over from my (4) Forte II setup upstairs. Thanks wvu80! Edited February 26, 2018 by KROCK
KROCK
Jimbo, waiting for the terminal blocks to arrive, to see how much room I have, to terminate the wires.
Deang
I prefer tin annealed copper. Sounds better in spite of the marketing BS. https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/speaker-wire/supra-classic-1.6/bulk-cable-per-foot-15-awg/
KROCK
Dean do you suggest on all drivers & from the crossover to the terminal block?

I bought a nice MTM kit from Madisound and they included that wire in the kit, good stuff. It's still OFC wire which is what I recommend for speaker wire. Quote The SUPRA Classic series comprises highly flexible cables containing tin plated multi-stranded OFC copper
Deang
Your Cornwall’s already use tin annealed copper wire from the drivers to the crossover (unless you changed it) - it’s perfectly fine, and I would just keep right on using it - unless audio nervosa is setting in, and you just want new. KROCK
Dean I don't know yet if the wires are long enough to reach the rear panel?
Deang
Even OFC can turn green if the jacket is crap.
Deang
I see. Well, just buy enough Supra to do all of it. I personally think it’s overpriced, but I don’t know anyone else that sells a tin annealed copper speaker wire.
KROCK
SOLD.... Thank you Sir!

PWK is quite well known for recommending lamp cord. Was he referring only to wire from the amp to the speaker? The "tin annealed copper wore from the drivers to the crossover" you refer to sounds like a much better quality wire with superior audio qualities.
