The design of the phase plug required a big housing, so at least it is not as heavy as the other large bodied compression drivers.

The Dude
Not trying to turn this into a driver size comparison thread. But for fun, here is the EV DH1A next to a Faital pro hf200.Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
NBPK402
Are the drivers all about the same depth? I have the EV DH1As, and was wondering if others are deeper insize. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk

The Dude
Added some decorative trim. Are those black areas some sort of mmumps? I know see the wooden trim. Is that oak? Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
Dave A
For some reason I was under the impression that Roy had added a phase plug to the Celestion he uses. If he has while those will sound good they will not be the equal to what goes in the Jubes. I had a chance to hear 1132 drivers on 402's with original phase plugs and then then the new ones and there is pretty substantial improvement. Yes, the shiny black areas are modified contours, similar to what are called mumps on other horns. The wood trim is rosewood veneer. The bright flash for that picture makes the wood color appear lighter than normal.

The New Jubilee video shows an extension for the phase plug. That would be a significant improvement over the standard Celestion compression driver. The shiny finish was temporary, I much prefer the appearance as pictured at the top of this page.
