CaptnBob
Marantz 7-R = 1960 (R for "rack-mount." "7-C" meant it came with a cabinet, "7" was basic unit, or so I've been told.) Klipsch Shorthorns - dated Jan. 1960. I have a Pickering transmission line speaker in my basement connected to an Advent 400. I have no way of knowing how old it is, but the styling suggests late forties/early fifties. Hadley 601 = 1963 Scott 330-D with a Marantz style faceplate = circa 1960. Mighty Favog
It would have to an H.H. Scott 830Z Audio Analyzer cir. 1977. But before that my ears are cir. 1965! That's part of the system isn't it??

My mom's 45's date back to '50. My dad's oldest LP in his collection dates back to 1961 (it's a reissue of an old 78 recorded in 1929). My dad also has a shelf full of old 7" reels of live recordings he and my granddad made, the oldest dates from around '53.

WMcD
I have some RCA phono plug patch cords which came with a Sony reel to reel tape recorder from 1969. As far as active equipment, I use a JVC receiver from 1975. There are those who believe that the a.c. power being supplied is an important component of the system and affects sound quality (I don't). Some of the stuff Com Ed of Chicago uses is far more ancient. For what it is worth, I'll point out that when we listen to an old Beatles recording, or vintage shellac, we're listening to what was then, new electronics, but not "modern" in design. PhilH
A 1977 JVC KD-95J cassette deck. JVC's first front load model. About a 20 lb. beast. Big ol' VU Meters with "brand new" Peak Level LED's. SA heads (since replaced). "Super ANRS" noise reduction which disappeared from JVC about a year later (think it had something to do with ruffling Dolby's and DBX's feathers).
