Yo Craig, not everyone is out to get you -- just Guy, Edmond, and Ryan.

As the well read will know I cannot debate the performance values.

I take on all competition for unamplified instruments and the associated understanding.

Just attended the first marching band perormance at the local high school(my freshmen son plays the mellophone).

Daughter was the drum section leader 3 years ago.

If I find a fault in a compoent I am not shy.

GET REAL!

I don't think that someone merely voicing their own personal opinion should be considered 'out ot get' another with an opposing view. I thought everyone was welcome here, not just the "me too" er's.

Marksdad:

I tend to agree with you, but not all opinions are of equal validity.

For example, say I know how to repair sewing machines and am very good at it. After I fix the machine, I testing it by sewing some pieces of cloth together. Does that alone qualify me to voice an opinion on the attributes of different types of fabrics, stitch patterns and clothing design? If so, is my opinion valid? Do I even have a right to voice an opinion in this matter?

Unless you subscribe to the politically correct, egalitarian bull$#!t mentality of modern times, the answer to both questions is NO!

Craig is an experienced, competent technician which is evidenced in the content of his posts pertaining to Scott amps, etc, but his technical expertise alone does not qualify him as a competent system set-up/tweaker. Based on some of his comments, IMO he is relatively inexperienced in setting up and evaluating the sonic attributes of a system.

I know a little bit about electronics, but I would never argue with someone of Craig's expertise on the Forum.

Everyone needs to "know what you don't know", and listen and learn from those who do.

I think we all just need to take a moment and remember how to be gentlemen/women. have manners flown out the window?

IMHO everyone has a right to an opinion, even if one is not an expert, even I can opin about speaker placement, component sound, tube rolling and the importance of room effects, though I cannot claim an expertise in the field.

we all need to abide by a few simple rules:

1. please give your opinion, but be careful about claiming to "know" something absolutely, absolutes should be used rarely. spend some time to phrase things as they are (90% of the time) your opinion, with some modicum of respect for others opinions and as people.

2. please be respectful, do not get personal EVER. As anyone should know, not only is it rude, but usually loses you respect and whatever argument you are trying to prove.

3. if someone states an opinion and you do not agree you do NOT have to respond, we all need to let the opinions flow and use our own filters to decide if someone is stuffed full of cookies or is an expert on a particular subject. If you must respond remember rules 1 and 2.

4. it is a violation of our community as a whole to make others uncomfortable on our forum. ANYONE who leaves out of exasperation or frustration or worst of all due to personal insults is a HUGE loss to our forum, we lose all chance of gaining in the future from that person's opinions (expert or not). the person or person's responsable for chasing people off should be banned.

I love hanging around here and seeing what other music lovers / audio hobbiests are up to, what they think about components, tweaks, music, etc.

I hate to see poorly mannered people, they make the forum a less attractive place to spend my time.

I implore my friends here, do not let this forum turn into an AR or AA ambiance, the klipsch forum has always been special due to the decorum and friendliness exhibited here. let's keep it that way.

regards,

tony

Mike,

I'm not your normal old time tech. I don't use a scope for the most part to tune my amps its a diagnostic tool. I trust my ears which gaging by all the rave reviews I get must be pretty darn good ! My rebuilds and mods have been compared to some heavy hitters out there.

When have you seen me go around advising people on system setup ? Your upset because I disagree with you about the Welbourne stuff at the MWAF get over it dude !

Exactly what makes you so qualified ? Working at a defunct online magazine for free for a short time ? Your no expert either in fact no one on here can be a expert on what someone else will like !

Other peoples opinion are nothing to take to serious its the owner of the systems opinion that counts . In fact a opinion by nature can not be right or wrong that is what makes it a opinion.

Audio Flynn,

You're really full of it! I am not out to get Craig. He's really not worth the time. He does a pretty good job of getting himself! I tire of reading his drivel and mostly choose not to post. You need to take the time to smell the crap you AND he are shoveling. If Craig had the credentials of Tom Tutay as a technician, maybe he'd be worth listening to, but he doesn't. Let's get real. Craig's so called "expertise" does not extend much over a year, if that. If you don't believe me, look back over the archives of his Forum posts. Barely enough time to list as experience if he were applying for employment as a journeyman. At most he would be considered an apprentice. He didn't know squat a little more than a year ago, so let's forget association to the level of "expert".

I have never claimed to be an expert audio anything, but I don't comment on things I don't feel I have a fairly firm base of knowledge from which to speak. I have always been willing to discuss the merits or lack of merit of any of my stated opinions, yet Craig can resort to name calling and whatever temper tantrum like behavior he see's fit, according to the moment of day or night, so please feel free to defend him. That is your right of free speech. Please, however, don't assume you know anything about "me" being out to get Craig.

Klipsch out.

Calm down Edmond, that was originally said by me to Craig in another thread. Craig was getting a little defensive and I was letting him know in joking kind of way that the poster was not an adversary.

What I don't understand is why you would deny being out to "get him", and then use your post to hurl insults at him again.

Dean,

IF there are insults in my post, they are also facts.

FACT/INSULT

Craig has responded many times to topics and equipment which he admits having no knowledge of, so why post? To get his stats up? Then comes, buy vintage and send it to me.

FACT/INSULT

What length of experience does Craig have? Go back and check the forum yourself! He didn't know what a tube amp was a little more than a year ago and didn't even own Klipsch speakers. If he applied for a journeymans position, he would be rated as an apprentice at best. And yes, I was formerly employed by the U.S. government as a civilian Personnel Staffing Specialist who examined and rated the Trades and Labor Occupations.

FACT/INSULT

"Drivel" definition number 2. in Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary; childish, silly, or meaningless talk or thinking; nonsense; twaddle. And of course Craig has never called anyone names. He's just calling it the way he see's it. Right? Poor innocent Craig is a victim of forum bullies. There is more to being a good audio technician and engineer than merely swapping in new parts and declaring, "Now this sounds great".

Dean, I know he's your buddy, but it's time you got him off the dime, and have him go back and read some of the things he's posted. While you're at it, serve him several generous portions of "humble pie".

Klipsch out.

PS. Craig, my name is spelled EDMOND!

EDMUND and Guy you 2 are like broken records,

Okay guy's if you want to talk forum bully I defy either of you to find a thread where we had a confrontation where it did not start from direct statements one of you made that either reflected poorly on me, was a round about slam or bait type situation !! Come on lets see them !! Its pretty obvious both of you to can not stand the success I've had and will not be happy until you succeed in driving me out of here well good luck I'm not going anywhere ! In fact I think I make meaningless posts in every thread just saying high or something just to bug you both.

Craig

PS EDMUND its obvious that you don't like me spelling your name Edmund but it just seems to fit your weird personality better. Oh also get my History right if your going to state it I rebuilt my first Scott amp almost 2 years ago and started my Official website in January of this year. I also worked side by side with my father since I was a small child on everything from Ham radios to refrigerators my father owned a appliance store and was a electronic repair man for his entire life ! I think the first time I used a soldering Iron I was about 11 years old !

Craig,

You still don't seem to be able to get it, so that's fine with me. In 25 words or less,...... You are the worst reflection on yourself. As far as your delusions about me not being able to stand your success, rest easy. There is nothing about your "success" that leaves me wanting. And PLEASE,.... don't have me dig out of the archives some of your first posts.(My 15 year old son has had more time listening to Klipsch speakers than you.)

I have no desire to drive you out of this forum or anywhere else. Just do not expect me to buy into your crapola. I wish you continued success with your soldering iron. Maybe one day you'll understand more nuances of audio and personal communication. Soldering teaches you nothing of the synergy of parts required to produce a quality audio product based on the requirements of the end user and the parameters of the desgner. Stick a sock in it Craig. You can't, and won't, be able to understand. It goes right over the top. Too bad.

All hail Craig! All rectifiers sound the same!

Craig,

You sure came a long way since Klipch 2 Channel Forum - January 2002 and that wasn't so long ago. So, before you come up with some more interesting theories, read some of your old posts and look how many times you'd contradicted yourself.

You knew nothing about audio then, and still don't know anything.

I hope that you are a better refrigerator technician than an amplifier "rebuilder". or do you also replace all possible refrigertor parts, instead of taking care of the existing froblem?

BTW,

I have many more examples to share if you're interested (they are even funnier).2.gif
