You've got a point. You're a pretty clever writer yourself. Catchy name as well, Jimmy J. But there's no need to be sexist. She'd whoop your ***.

It's not as though he is banished forever. We will take up the issue again.

Allan is banned? For the record, I've never felt offended by what he said, although at times I wished he'd cool it. But then, I've always recognized what caused it. Hmm. Again for the record, I'd support reinstatement.

"The thread on Michael Jackson that was started today, for example, would have been fine, but someone threw in a post about impeaching President Bush (hello, relevance?). I choose to delete that post and lock the thread to prevent further problems. I don't believe any topic on Michael Jackson is a good idea anyway."

Don't Wanna Be Start'in Somthing?

The thing I find a little creepy is there are some people out there that complain to moderators about what member x said.I've been here for a few years and the nut/s posting hardcore porno was prolly the only one/s I would have banned(and maybe the terrorist dude). But,since I'm not well informed and its not my job I presume Amy and Trey do what they feel is required, they strike me as reasonable. All the same imho banning should be used as the death penalty, only for the worst of the worst w/no redeeming qualities.

For what it's worth, for the most part, I've always felt like if I poked my head inside a door (thread) and didn't like what I saw, I felt that I could always close the door and not go back into that place. Sometimes I'll be bold enough to voice my displeasure. Allan and Paul's arguements were sometimes legend, sometimes just foolish, but I don't think ever offensive to the point of banishment.

But maybe I didn't see them all. If someone was warned about inappropriate behavior and then proceeded to act out, that's good enough reason. If Amy ever had to scold me, you can bet I'd watch my P's and Q's cause I LOVE this place!

People, please remember, Klipsch PAYS for the space for us to conduct this Forum. Sure they get marketing information from scouring our posts (at least we hope they do wink, wink), but nowhere are we granted free reign to act or say as we darned well please.

Thanks again Klipsch, Amy and Trey.

Michael

Usually, it is only people who are just here to cause trouble that are banned. And they are banned permanently.

We've never said Allan's ban is permanent.

The following is in our policy:

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

We do offer warnings first, especially to our more valued members.

But repeated abuse in any form listed above cannot be tolerated. Then what's the point of having a policy?

And I'm still laughing at Trey=Barney Fife.

I hate for anyone to get the boot, especially someone who brings much to the forum, as Allan does.

Actually, Allan and I are pretty much polar-opposites on practically every issue. And at times he has been insulting and arrogant. Still, I'm not offended because of these perceptions because they are, after all, only perceptions. And as we all know it's easy to misunderstand peoples real meaning when we only have the written words to go by. Plus, we all tend to vent and be less polite here than we ever would face to face. So I take it with a grain of salt; or at least, I try to.

I don't really see the issue with baiting. Lots of people are just wanting to strike up a little good-natured jib-jab. Like Amy said, I think it'd be hard to judge people's motivation, whether it was benign or if they were really trying to push an individuals buttons. And even then, I think the obligation to remain civil still falls upon the "baited" - if they can't stand the heat, maybe they should stay out of the kitchen.

Stop crying you lot. Alan will return. I'm sure of it. I can't wait...

I mean that sincerely. I enjoyed his posts.

In relation to Parrot. Well, what can I say. He can be a pain in the tail feathers sometimes. 11.gif But usually only when provoked.

But he's also knowledgeable, helpful, and always a great read.
