lol seriously

And there's no way in the world they sound as
good as he makes them out to be either...the K79 is a 102dB tweeter,
not 104dB. I think the KP-302 squawker is 102dB too - might even be
lower actually. And then you're never supposed to wire two different
drivers in parallel as they will both acoustically and electrically
work against each other. Whichever is weaker of the two is going to
behave like a passive radiator and flop around all crazy style - which
isn't very nice to the mids. Then the tall cabinet is going to have all
sorts of crazy standing waves introducing comb-filtering on the
response - not to mention some nasty bass suckout. And then he forgot
to port the speakers - which is going to make them roll off pretty
severely around 100Hz if not higher. His maxSPL doesn't make much sense
either - the Chorus II (which has the K79 and the KP-302 squawker) can
peak at 130dB - and I know the woofer he's using can peak that high
too. And then combine it all with a KLF-30 crossover that must have
been finetuned for the response of the speaker.

But ignoring the technical crap....."they look better than
khorns"?!? Hmmm....cutting boards or veneered wood - which finish would
you choose? I wonder if Klipsch wouldn't be willing to send the guy a
pair of khorns or heck, a pair of Jubilees veneered with cutting
boards. Is this the new WAF?

"Mine sound better, look better (by far) and are built much better than anything you could buy at over 3-times the cost. "

Sound better? Would have to hear them.

Look better? Only in a kitchen.

Other than that - Doc - a speaker doesnt have to be ported to play low bass - although it would depend on the drivers and their sensitivity as to how low they can really go - I would expect 50 Hz or so should be eminently possible - assuming his 104 dB figure is bogus.

the pattern on the speaker reminds me of some sleezy cheap motel wall......

oh no hdf..... its 4 times the cost and weighs 4 pounds more per cubic foot...... HDF was made not as a better material but more or less made for better screw retention, preventing tear outs, ripouts etc....... besides he got hosed from the cabinet maker......... 2000 dollars ha

Agreed - but the drivers he used do [;)]

The thing is, the seller once owned Klipschorns himself and he also of course owns these. So, he's heard both, whereas no one commenting in this thread has heard the speakers that are for sale. I think we should give the seller the benefit of the doubt and believe him when he says these are better.

Makes sense to me. Do I like the looks? Not really. Do they outperform Khorns? No clue, never heard them.

If they sound better then it's better to him and not necessarily better to anyone else. But I'll give him the benefit but I doubt it - [:#]

Did he mention what sort of box plot he used to get the interior dimensions - if he used one at all?

And they're ugly. Damn. (I don't much care about "looks" but I had to throw that in for SWMBO. )

After careful review of the item in question, I have determined that he has some very awful carpet. In fact his carpet appears to be stained. Perhaps he has a very large dog that wizzed on those.....speakers....thereby leaving the tale-tale signs of urine soaked carpet stains.

On a bright note, he did attempt to vacuum the carpet for the picture though.

He really needs to move those gawd awful ugly speakers off the carpet if he expects to sell the carpet.
