hehehe,

That is amazing.

I'm not impressed though.

For that price I'd expect the wires to be hand soldered to the teeth in the connector.

Once again, I'm thinking I'm in the wrong business.

I've made enough standard cat-5 patch cables at work over the years, I should have enough practice to make some of those pricey ones.

I do use some AR "twisted pair" RCA cables for my turntable though. they were cheap open box items at best buy and seem alright.

I use cat 5 cables at $6.00 each for 6 ft length for my networks

You paid about $5 too much each.

I cannot believe that Denon is doing that. Very, very shameful.

AK-DL1

$499.00

Denon's 1.5 meter (59 in.) ultra premium Denon Link cable was designed
for the audio enthusiast. Made from high purity copper wire and high
performance connection parts, the AK-DL1
will bring out all the nuances in digital audio reproduction from any
of our Denon DVD players with the Denon Link feature. Attention to
detail when building this cable was used by employing high quality
insulation, tin-bearing alloy shielding and woven jacketing to reduce
vibration
and to add durability. Additionally, signal directional
markings are provided for optimum signal transfer. Rounded plug levers
help prevent breakage.

To reduce vibration>?>?>? From what, your big ole speakers? Oh Pleeeeeaaaaassseeee.

Directional, anti-vibration, ethernet cable.

Wow. Now I have seen it all. I have lost a LOT of respect for Denon.

Side by side, you would not get any noticable difference between that cable and using paperclips. Digital signalling - it either works or it doesn't.

and I bet you cat 5e or cat 6 is better shielded than those

Neither CAT 5e nor CAT 6 have shielding. The cabling consists of 4 twisted pairs, although only 2 pairs are used. A transmit pair and a receive pair. You CAN get it shielded, but the cost is pretty high.

not really.... I got a 100 ft run of cat5e shielded for not much. I forgot the cost but it was made by someone I knew and watched it. I saw the metal lined shielding so I am pretty sure it is shielded
