  1. Past hour
  2. I generally keep several amps in the rotation and currently each one sounds very good, SS and tube. Each presents different but very good. I picked up a Decware Tori IV about a year ago, it is not in the current lineup. It was also very good, not the most quiet and required a forest of tubes. It wasn’t so much better as to differentiate itself from the rest. I won’t wait 45 minutes at a restaurant let alone 2 years for an amp. But that’s me. Obviously 12 pages of back logged customers feel differently - -
  3. Today
  4. @Idontknow I don't know if I will be able to explain what I mean to you and how our views apparently differ because I'm not going to spend a lot of time on it... edit: okay maybe more than I meant to considering how long this post is. :-) Yes I know there are a number of people like your video guy, but for everyone like him there are others that try different things for knowledge and understanding realizing they are usually making sideways moves or even going a step or two back occasionally. Speaking for myself I don't have to go to others (video reviews or forums etc) to ask what will work for this or that and will I like it because I have enough experience I know what works for me. The majority of my purchases have been used and get sold for not much if any loss. The money saved if I were still using my first system would have been spent on something equally nonessential. ;-) Another forum has quite a few members that bought a system in (insert decade here) when they were young and still use it having never tried much if anything else, more power to them but I have enjoyed a journey of exploration that has been very satisfying and I was very happy with all but a few purchases over the years. Always looking for better was very rarely the basis for something new/different. I know a lot of folks that have done the same with no regrets.
  5. 2 more Yardbirds. The 1960s Epic mono pressings are a little flat sounding. I'm I weird because I like The Yardbirds version of My Girl Sloopy?
  6. Audiophile Edition On 180g HQ Vinyl 45RPM. Audiophile? Maybe, only copy I have. Been on a Yardbirds kick lately. And I rolled out my JJ 6l6 tubes and rolled back in my Psvane KT88s. Love those KT88s! 😍
  7. Both the first reply are basically original chorus speakers the k and the e, as understand it the e for made by Eminence. The one mentioned by member are the best replacement sold by Klipsch, which you need to contact Klipsch about.purchasing. The k-48-st. So, the originals used, or new replacement by Klipsch. Just verify 4 Ohm instead of 8.
  8. If you’re going to watch anything in surround sound on it you’re going to upgrade your center speaker.
  9. What connection are you using?
  10. BTW.... http://glowinthedarkaudio.com/mcintosh-mc225.html I've read this more than once. I've had this bug....even my wife wants me to get one.... Apologize OP. I do want to hear more about Decware
  11. I don't watch video reviews. I typically read about previous owners. Just because I'm on this thread, doesn't mean I'm going down one path. This is all just a fun goof. I've bought plenty of American stuff ....I can't buy it all. Well maybe one day...... My buddy is gettin' one on these....so I'm doing it too. I bought a Transcendent OTL amp once new....just because a friend loved his. Learned a lot and had fun. I bought ALL the Juicy Music stuff. Bought Nosvalve stuff.. Bought AmpsandSounds..... and countless number of McIntosh amps...... All not have even heard before. No sweat. Heck, buy some old Mac amps and send to John Warren. If I can get to them all....I will. Never heard or even seen a Decware product. Yeah... I'll stand in line. No sweat. Laugh while I do it. Hey Op. Sorry that amp is hummin' on you. That Sweetwater product is something to try. I have a another version of that as well by Rolls. My best experience has been with Jenson Transformers....when all else fails. But.... that costs dough. I have one here waitin' until when my Decware arrives. I'll keep it dusted with my coaster and bourbon. jc
  12. The true story about all this gossip with Decware and wait lists started specifically because of three youtube channels. Andrew Robinson, the Audiopheliac and Thomas Stereo. Right after those reviews were posted, Decware suddenly started getting mobbed with orders. The problem with this is that there a good number of amazing, small business's who build beautiful tube amps here in America who don't get the credit they deserve. The problem with most of these YouTube channels is that they end up being sellouts, no different than people who blame audio magazines for paid advertising by brands they review. The YouTube channels are no different. It amazes me how many amazing tube amps are available by other American sources that don't get reviewed by those channels. Instead, they mostly review mainstream products because they've monetized their channels. That's fine, but the problem is the people who close their minds from less popular companies because there's no reviews posted by these YouTube channels. Some of the most amazing things are things you don't know about. Popularity doesn't mean things are necessarily better, but that's what people get sucked into an it's nonsense. Decware make nice amps, don't get me wrong, BUT there are others equally nice if not, better. Look at Kevin's reviews. He's not even remotely in the mainstream, yet reviews tons of great and less popular brands that are amazing. http://www.glowinthedarkaudio.com/home.html
  13. So how do I know those are K48S? Unfortunately I dont know what all the numbers mean. Or am I misunderstanding something...
  14. Welcome! Sounds like a home theater system is what going for. Always seems bigger is better yet, the room size (ceiling height?) either should be sufficient. What other than the 2 mentioned do you have in mind? Others here will dig deeper... @Boromir99
  15. I thought about getting on the list a couple of years ago because I’ve had a Decware amp and really liked it. But my personality won’t allow me to wait even a fraction of that time. Like you said, there are other options that are just as good or better.
  16. I haven't seen any videos. Just going by tremendous online praise. I'm not sufferin' over here ...............as I have too much electronics not in use .........being eye candy. In my 6 year wait period.....at my current purchase rate, I'll probably plow through many more amps.🤪
  17. The 48s are pro level speakers. Awesome bass... @rockerrr
  18. I personally think the EL34 NessTone's have the sweetest, warmest, most pretty sound which is a phenomenal match for Heritage speakers. Ironically they are the least expensive too.
  19. It's amazing what a few youtube videos can do to a companies reputation like Decware. These wait periods are absolutely absurd when there are other fantastic options available but it's like famous pop stars, people just follow the cattle.
  20. Well it's now well over two years. Yippee, I'm in the low 300s now. Just one more year, maybe. JC, I hope you eventually really get yours. Reality says it is like 5 or 6 years out.
  21. Would go with the 48s, both choices suggested above.
  22. Yea, I used to go to Houston's specifically for a Hawaiian ribeye once a month before Covid closed it down. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to try new things, but for example, this hifi buff has a new favorite something every three months or so, so he's obviously trying new things but he still no longer even has these after he said he was keeping them. Look at Jay's Audio Lab. The man is always switching gear like he's switching underwear. I think it's nice when you have a good hifi system and get lost in the music instead. I also think a lot of hifi gear is overpriced compared to other gear that sounds equally good and in many cases, actually better.
  23. Thanks for the info. What about the k33 or the Eminence. Are those viable possibilities? Im thinking since the woofers are not there maybe a custom replacement for a custom build?
